One of the longest and deepest slot canyons on the planet, Buckskin Gulch goes on for miles (about 24 miles if you just do Buckskin Gulch and not Wire Pass) and rarely gets wider than 20 feet. Don’t worry, we only do about the first 5-6 miles of Buckskin to give you a time appropriate experience. The sweeping movement of the canyon walls are breathtaking as you witness mother nature's masterpiece that has taken her millions of years to create. Temperatures within the canyon are much cooler than the surrounding sunny Red Rocks. Depending on how far in you go, you will often encounter puddles of water you’ll need to wade through. This beautiful canyon lies nestled just north of Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. The head of the canyon features a natural spring that decorates the walls with lush greenery and water seeps. You will find plenty of shade along this trail, and at your destination, as the trail ends at a massive pictograph panel tucked inside a large alcove. The route is moderately challenging and does involve some steep steps and off-camber footing. There is a very secure rock pathway with a guardrail that extends down along the side of the canyon wall. This is a beautiful section of trail but could be slow-going for some and requires good balance and self awareness. The pictograph panel is one of the largest in the immediate area, featuring unique colors and depictions of figures that aren’t found anywhere else. There is access to a section of sand dunes that can provide the opportunity to sand board as well!! Total hiking miles is .9 round trip and about 300 feet elevation change. (Zion, Bryce)

Must do activity in Greater Zion area!

Definitely one of the best activities I've done in the Greater Zion area. Friendly for all skill levels! The ATV were a much smoother ride compared to quad. The sand boarding was intimidating but actually so easy and fun, I went down 4 times! The slot canyon was beautiful and great opportunity for pictures. Our tour guide was a young gentleman who was kind, knowledgeable, patient, and prioritized safety. Incredible time hiking through the narrows today. DJ is a knowledgeable, personable, and very encouraging guy. He made the hike a really great experience and pointed out lots of cool things I would never have seen otherwise. Came prepped with great equipment and snacks and presented a picturesque charcuterie board halfway through. Let us have our say of everything we wanted to do and showed us really cool side features such as a fallen tree we walked across and a rock that we were able to jump off. Couldn’t recommend DJ more and think everyone would benefit from this experience.

Great, great way to see Zion!

Riding e-bikes in Zion was a great way to see the canyon! Our guide Iona was a wealth of information, she explained each of the stops in the park. We learned of the canyon walls, waterfalls, trails, wildlife and fauna! Iona took good care of us, we had plenty of cold water and many opportunities to take pictures!! Highly recommended this adventure 😊

Can’t miss when you’re in Zion

First if you’re in Springdale, plan to leave early, the queue into Zion is long and the tunnel can be slow. Lonnie was awesome - couldn’t ask more in a guide, he’s knowledgeable, funny and always supportive in a tight spot. The slot canyons are fantastic. I now have to sort through 10000 pictures I took over 2 hours.

A MUST do if you’re ever around the area. We got to explore and do so much in the Polaris RZRs! Bryan was an excellent guide, very informative and kept having stops throughout the drive to check in/let us know what was coming up next. The viewpoints were so beautiful especially at sunset. Highly recommend doing that tour if the timing works in your favor! If not, still choose to go you won’t regret it.

Highly recommend this canyon excursion!

Tour guide Brent was excellent! Taught us how to sandboard, took the coolest pics, and gave some interesting history and fun facts. UTV was a fun ride! Sandboarding was awesome and the canyon is breathtaking. Photos don’t do it justice. I highly recommend it especially If you’re looking for a less crowded more private version of antelope canyon with the same photo ops!

Our family of 6 (4 kids) had the best experience! We had Jordan as our tour guide. He took us on a fun UTV ride to the sand dunes to then go sandboarding. He took pictures of our family’s experience for us. He then took us to the slot canyon. He didn’t just guide us through but gave us some fun facts and explained things to us while walking. He knew the best photo spots too! I cannot thank him enough for making our trip to Utah that much more special!

Stayed all day on the 21 and over side. Enjoyed sampling the different types and temperatures of pools. Only suggestion I have would be that they have more ways to get out of the sun and more seating outside the pools. They do have gazebos to rent. Overall, had a great time. Wonderful venue to go with friends. I would definitely recommend it and will return when I’m back in the area.
