Lake Kariba Tours and Tickets
Lake Kariba

At more than 140 miles (220 kilometers) long and 25 miles (40 kilometers) wide, Lake Kariba is the biggest artificial lake in the world.
The lake is accessible from both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides.
Lake Kariba is a popular spot for relaxing, fishing (permits required), wildlife safaris, and wildlife cruises in small boats and canoes.
Accommodation options on the lake include houseboats and lakeside lodges.
Although the lake is popular with watersports, from canoeing to sailing and motorboating, swimming in the lake is not advised due to the abundance of hippos and crocodiles.
Travelers should bring comfortable, airy clothes with long sleeves and pants, walking shoes for wildlife safaris, sunhats, and sunglasses. Sunscreen and insect repellent are also highly advised.
Mosquitoes and malaria are a problem around Lake Kariba. Many are resistant to chloroquine, so travelers must come prepared with alternative antimalarials.
