Excellent introduction to Thessaloniki
My wife and I took this excursion whilst on a Celebrity cruises of Greece and Turkey. We picked it because it offered a more comprehensive introduction to Thessaloniki than the cruise ship options and we were not disappointed. Our tour guide, Lisa was excellent. She was a font of knowledge on anything to do with Thessaloniki and was very clearly passionate about her home city. She made sure everyone had a chance to hear her commentary before she started talking at each of the stops and kept the tour moving at a comfortable pace. She even happily walked with us around the centre of Thessaloniki in the rain when all of the other on the tour chose to return to the ship. I'd also like to commend Vexperio on the great communication after booking and leading up to the tour.

Well, worth the time.
Well worth the time. Our Tour guide, Iannis, was excellent. He did a great job guiding us through the tour sites, providing a great deal of information covering the history of the city. He was knowledgeable and very personable. He made an otherwise dreary, somewhat rainy afternoon, very enjoyable and informative. Highly recommend.

The meeting point was centralized in the city but about a 25 minute walk from the cruise terminal. The Pozar baths are beautiful and very relaxing. It cost 5 Euros each to get in the baths. Then we traveled to a very cute village called Orma and had a delicious Greek lunch (not included in the price). Lastly we travelled to Edessa where there is a beautiful waterfall and lots of scenery including old towns and water wheels. We made it back in plenty of time to walk through the rest of the town and then get back on our ship! Would absolutely recommend!

Basically it’s a fantastic day trip for those who love history but in this case, it more about Archaeological finds. The museum, recently opened is simply incredible. I learned so much about the Macedonian kingdoms. The exhibits and recovered marble are beautiful. The building is light filled! I would like to thank Eva, for conducting a great tour, so friendly! Further to this, as a qualified archeologist, she is very knowledgeable and informative and added so much to the trip.

Get closer to the gods on Thessaloniki tours. You can climb Mt. Olympus, where ancient Greeks said Zeus and Hera ruled the human world, or explore Meteora, a complex of Eastern Orthodox monasteries that sit precariously on the top of stone monoliths. Whichever you choose, the city will be waiting for you when you get back. Perhaps a pub crawl or wine tasting will take the edge off the encounter with the spiritual—if not, some thermal baths will do the trick instead.
