I am a Viator user. This tour was one of the best. My guide Mary was pleasant, knowledgeable, flexible and is also a great photographer. My tour was a little bit idiosyncratic, and she was totally flexible. She knows the former French concession well and it makes the tour a delight. The technical aspects of the tour were handled very professionally as well-addresses, drop off, pick up-all great. Thank you Sunflower and Mary.

The best way to spend an afternoon in Shanghai, especially if you're the kind of traveler who wants to actually understand the culture and history of the city you're visiting. I'd been to Shanghai a couple of times before, but this is the first time I felt like I've actually BEEN to the city. My guide Penny was a treasure trove of knowledge with a great sense of humor, and tailored her tour perfectly according to what I'd be interested in seeing: I'd mentioned I was particularly interested in the cultural aspect of Shanghai in the 1930s heyday, and she took extra effort to walk me through the history behind the confluence of international cultures in the area, as well as taking me to see the old apartments that famous Chinese writers at the time once lived in so I could get a feel of their day-to-day lives that inspired their work. This was exactly what I was looking for, and I highly recommend Penny and this tour to any self-professed history nerds who love fun facts and hidden finds as much as I do!

Vicky has been a fantastic guide, knowledgeable and accommodating. The Yu Garden, it’s market and the tea ceremony are a must do in Shanghai!

Miss Mary our guide was fantastic. Her English exceptional. She took us to places we would never have found on our own, was interesting, relevant and informative. She worked out quickly what suited us. She took us for a delicious lunch at a traditional restaurant. My husband is coeliac so needed gluten free. Miss Mary sorted this out. It was no problem at all and so delicious!! Would highly recommend this tour.

Thomas was our guide and he was excellent. The historical information he provided in Yu Garden made for an incredible cultural experience.

Such a fun tour! You walk around 3 different restaurants in the French Concession eating different local dishes. Then finish with the most yummy mango dessert followed by local beer. Emma, our guide was so bubbly and chatted away about architecture, food, Shanghai life that it was like being out with a friend. Highly recommend the tour.

Penny is a great guide, we learnt a lot from her. Her explanations are accessible and interesting for kids as well. Penny has kindly offered useful information for our stay in Shanghai. Highly recommend her tour 😊

I want to firstly say a massive thank you to our wonderful tour guide Sam! She was amazing and looked after our every need, from answering our questions to sorting vegetarian friendly meals, she was amazing. She also took the time to make sure that we got back to our hotel safely, helping to arrange taxis for us. For this and the whole night she organised, we are very grateful.
