Great Tour!
Josué was our guide. He shared his wealth of knowledge about the history, geography, and culture—even explained the flora and fauna of the areas we were exploring. The transportation was clean, comfortable and air-conditioned. We left early enough to beat the crowds, and we finished at a lovely restaurant overlooking Lake Coatepeque. We even had time to swim while waiting for our food. Thank you for such a great experience!

Santa Ana Volcano Early Hike and Coatepeque Lake
Our tour guide Osmaro picked us up from our hotel to start our tour on time. The tour guide was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and we learned a lot of history. The view of the Santa Ana Volcano Early Hike and Coatepeque Lake were breathtaking, it was worth it. Highly recommend it.

  • Santa Ana Volcano is a must-see attraction for adventure travelers and outdoor enthusiasts in El Salvador.

  • Come prepared with comfortable hiking shoes, water, snacks, cash for entry and hiking fees, and a light jacket or sweater as it can be a little chilly at the top.

  • The hike to the top of Santa Ana volcano is relatively strenuous and involves rough terrain. It is not suitable for wheelchair users, strollers, or young children.

  • Dining options are limited at Cerro Verde national park. While there is a snack kiosk and a small restaurant near the bus stop, it’s worth coming prepared with water and snacks.
