Private Tour is the Way to Go

We were very pleased with this tour. Our guide, Gaby, from El Salvador Positive Tours contacted us the night before the trip to ensure that we were prepared. She was as she arrived at our hotel on time. She provided great commentary throughout the day and was helpful throughout the climb up and down the mountain. As for the climb itself we were able to go at four own pace since this was a private tour- very important. Gaby selected a nice lunch place for us that was very good. Overall we enjoyed the tour and were quite pleased with our guide.

They had to cancel my reservation for the tour the morning of, so I wasn’t able to go. I can’t comment on the tour itself. I took a taxi to the Cerro Verde anyway, but wasn’t able to climb to the top due to getting there too late. Just bad luck.

Amazing experience, my guide was Jose. He was very friendly and funny. Very accommodating when I needed to take breaks on the hike. Also very knowledgeable about the Santa Ana volcano and El Salvador I’m general. Would highly recommend as a solo traveller.
