This experience was...
This experience was really nice and I totally recommend.
I felt we didn’t really know the planning for the day so here is a big overview:
- you will take a bus to Xunantunich (15min drive) and visit the site for about 2h
- you will then go on another drive for 1h30 to the caves
- once there, you will have lunch (homemade lunch, really nice), be able to change into swimsuits and leave for the caves (be sure to take water shoes and a t shirt that can go into water)
- you will walk for about 25min with a tube both in forest and water and then go in the tube once in the cave
- the cave tubbing is really nice and relaxing
- then you go back to the changing rooms before jumping in the bus for the way back
I didnt really know that before doing the tour but don’t forget walking shoes for Xunantunich visit (with sun cream) and water shoes and another t shirt for the cave tubing (shoes that you are confortable walking with and that can go into water).
Enjoy !!

Best part of Belize trip
This was the best part of our whole trip to Belize! Giovanni was punctual and knowledgeable. He is also an amazing cook— our lunch on the pontoon was delicious! We enjoyed starting our day at the Mayan ruins before heading to the pontoons on the river. The whole day was more beautiful than we could have imagined! We enjoyed our time so much that we added on a sunset horseback ride with Roberto at their family’s property in the jungle. Wish we could relive this day again!!!

Giovanni Goes the Extra Mile!!
My husband and I joined Giovanni on the jungle and waterfall excursion on his pontoon boat. First I have to say that he was very personable and had a great sense of humor. During the trip we saw howler monkeys, crocodiles and a whole wide variety of birds including toucans! To begin we went on a short hike to a beautiful waterfall and swam in a crystal clear pool.
From there we headed upriver as he prepared lunch aboard the boat. We then made it to a second site and docked while eating lunch directly in front of a triple waterfall! After lunch we were able to dive off the second story of the boat into the deep pools beneath the waterfalls. Giovanni even climbed up the rocks and jumped off to join us!
We then were off to make a quick stop to see the dam that creates electric power for much of Belize. Next was the final waterfall of the day with calcium rich pools and crystal clear water complete with tiny fish that swam all around us.
My husband and I both thought the trip was amazing and well worth making a day out of. Giovanni really knew the area having grown up on the very piece of land we launched from. He knew a lot of the cultural history of the waterways and was great at helping us imagine the significance the river highway system provided to inhabitants over time. We would both recommend checking this out and give it a solid 10 stars. Thanks Giovanni!

Wow!! This was a great experience
We had a wonderful time at ATM and Xunantunich. I went with my two teenage daughters and they absolutley loved it. The adventure of swimming through caves, climbling, squeezing through rock formations and seeing the history in the caves was fantastic. We got to see actual remains and potery left behind that are hundreds of years old. Our cave guide was Hector who was really good and explained things in detail. My girls and I learnt a lot of history. After the cave tour, we had a lunch and then headed off to the Xunantunich Mayan ruin site. Our guide Pedro was also really great and spent the day with us. Thank you Pedro and Hector for an unforgettable day!!!!!!

Great time in the Belize jungle
Our family had a great day in the natural beauty of the Belize jungle. We did the combo of the zip lining first and then the cave tubing. The zip lining was a lot of fun, a few longer and faster lines over the river which was really nice. The cave tubing involved a 3-4 mile hike through the forest carrying our tube float and then had a nice float down the river through the forest and some caves. Our guide Steven was really helpful. Thank you for a great day.

Unforgettable Adventure w/ Mr. Hugh as our Guide!
Simply Amazing! A must do in the San Ignacio area (best thing to do!)
The caving and wading/swimming through the stream in the cave was sooo fun! Crawling through openings and climbing over rocks and cliffs was both fun and nerve wracking at times and also very exhilerating! Best part however is that you are in a sacred cave with bodies right next to your feet! It is amazing! They would never allow this in the U.S. Truly a once in a lifetime experience. Was not as physically trying as some make it out to be. My wife and I are 60 and it was no issue. Definitely need to bring socks. Special shout out to our guide, Mr. Hugh! He was simply the best! Soooo knowledgeable. In fact, we were wondering why he was giving us so much info and history (which I liked) in the beginning and on the way into the cave whereas other groups were passing us by. However, it all became apparent when we returned from the end (Crystal Maiden) and we were the one of two last groups. We had the entire gave to ourselves on the way out! And we even got to turn off our headlamps and swim through part of the cave in darkness (Twiighlight) which might have been the highlight. He was truly an amazing guide. Made it so fun and interesting and yet kept safety foremost for all. That guy gets my highest recommendation!

Tikal in April from San Ignacio
The tour started in San Ignacio our driver was very nice and walked us through the border and customs section in Belize. Prior to separating he pointed out our Guatemalan tour guide from a distance. Once through customs and border checks our Guatemalan guide Levi walked us through the same process on the Guatemala side. Once we arrived at Tikal Levi was very knowledgeable and his passion for the history of the site made the almost 6 mile walk with almost 71 flights of stairs seem less intense. The trip was amazing to see both uncovered and still yet covered historical structures. Our guide also walked us through the area where celebrations and cultural Matan events are still held to this day. The provided meal was phenomenal after so much walking.

Amazing Mayan Ruin Tour: Henry is the best!
My kids and I absolutely LOVED this tour and our tour guide Henry! We were able to see all of the structures and climb several of them for gorgeous views of Belize and Guatemala.
But, it was Henry who really made this an amazing experience. He was so knowledgeable and taught us so much about Mayans culture, how they lived and all about the building structures.
Henry spoke English very fluently and answered all of our questions with extreme patience.
Because my kids are pre-teens, it’s hard to find educational tours that engage and entertain them. But, Henry’s youth, enthusiasm and obvious intelligence about Mayan culture and the ruins really excited my kids about Mayan culture. They had the best time and couldn’t stop talking about the tour all night!
We look forward to coming back and taking additional tours with Henry!

A super fun day trip!
This was SO much fun. We loved swimming around in the cave and learning about its history. Our guide Angel was great! We really enjoyed him. The walk to put in was about 40 minutes, and pretty flat, we had to carry our own tubes, which wasn't hard at all, just putting it for info. Wear water shoes that are comfortable to walk in and probably ones with backstraps, there are rentals available near put in. It was nice to not have to be in a huge group. We saw some bats, toucans and other birds on the river. Lunch was delicious and we had a little time to look at the souvenir shops around. We did see a few coatimundi in the parking lot area which was fun! Bring your own towel! We had some time to dry on the sun cause other people in our group zip lined. But we would have been pretty damp still!

Fantastic tour!
It was the best tour I could have gone on. The ruins were fantastic and Israel was the best guide ever! He was patient, kind and easy going. I was relaxed and had such a good time exploring. The information given was informative and very interesting. The pick up at the hotel made it easy for me. The lunch of chicken and rice was delicious and plentiful. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this tour to travelers, especially first time in Belize travelers.

Tubing and Maya Ruins
This was a great excursion our tour guy Gold Born was great, he was very informative and thought us a lot about the Maya culture he took his time explaining and giving us plenty of time to explore and take pictures at the Ruins. Tubing inside the cave was a fantastic experience and so much fun would definitely recommend this excursion to anyone that comes to Belize

Seamless transition from...
Seamless transition from pick up to drop off in Guatemala to head to Tikal. Tikal itself was amazing. Probably the best Mayan ruins I’ve ever seen. It’s incredible how you can climb a bunch of the structures to this day. I loved seeing temples above the trees from the tops of other temples or pyramids.
