Great choice for a day out from Riga
Great day put, blessed by the nice weather. Ellen's is very nice, able to create a good balance between guided time and time alone. We managed to arrive at all sites with very very few other people around, which was the added value for me. Definitely reccomended.

Excellent day trip from Riga
Great day out with lots of interesting stops. Tour was punctual and comfortable. It was easy to find the pick up location and everything ran very smoothly. Our guide, Maris, was super knowledgeable, charismatic and engaging. He ensured everything ran to a very well-paced schedule and the information he provided on a huge range of topics related to Latvian history and culture was so impressive. The coffee stops and lunch tea-room were well-selected and had lots of choice at very reasonable prices. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone travelling to Riga!

Had a fantastic day on...
Had a fantastic day on this tour. Norman was a brilliant guide and ensured the day ran at a perfect speed with no rushing. He recommended a beautiful restaurant for lunch to try the local Lithuanian cuisine which was lovely. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone and would jump at the chance to do another tour with Norman.

I am glad I decided to do...
I am glad I decided to do this trip. I could have visited these places by myself, however, having a guide to explain the background and also the history of those places made it much more enjoyable. The guide, Tomass, was extremely knowledgeable about the places we visited and really knew how to keep us informed and entertianed!

Enjoyable and Informative Hike in Sigulda area
A fantastic day out with the experienced Lauris in this beautiful National Park area. We did about 12 kilometres with only about 200 metres of elevation, so it was not too difficult. There was even a short stop where we could buy some light lunch and a drink if needed. Lauris explained not only about the trails we were on, but also a bit more about Latvia's history and culture, so it was very informative as well as an enjoyable walk in lovely scenery. Riga town is attractive, but it is nice to see some countryside and get a bit more perspective of a country covered more than half by forests.

Highly recommend!
RECOMMEND! It was exactly as promised. A comfortable, small-group drive through the lush green countryside of Latvia and Lithuania; an interesting backgrounder and history lesson upon arrival; a solemn and sobering pilgrimage through the site to the monastery; a border stop for pictures; a slow drive through Jelgava with its Soviet style architecture and a stop at its ornate Orthodox Church with more historic commentary. We had a full day but not an exhausting one and there was still plenty of time for more sightseeing in Riga!

Experience latvian culinary delights
Amazing tour of the markets. Got to sample local fruits, meats, cheeses and even my favourite riga black!! If you want an introduction to latvian culinary tastes this is a trip worth booking. Our guide was fantastic and really knew her stuff. The sights, smells and tastes are not to be missed.

Two countries, one day!
It was great to see different castles in Latvia and also visit the Hill of Crosses in Lithuania. We got some extra free time and were able to squeeze an extra castle on our way back to Riga. Friendly tour guide, easy to go around, and we even stop by for coffee before our first stop. Would 100% recommend doing this when in Riga!

A Comprehensive Overview of Riga's Old Town
Our near 2-hour walking tour of Riga's Old Town provided a solid introduction to the area's historical and architectural significance. The guide, Guna, demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the city's past and present.
Guna presented information on Riga's development from a medieval trading hub to its contemporary status. She highlighted various historical periods, including periods of foreign rule, leading up to Latvia's independence. Her explanations of key landmarks were informative, detailing their architectural styles and historical contexts.
The pace of the tour was consistent, allowing for coverage of a substantial portion of the Old Town within the near two-hour timeframe. Guna's delivery was clear, and she responded to questions directly. The tour offered a foundational understanding of Riga's Old Town, making it a suitable option for visitors seeking a starting point and detailed historical and cultural overview.
Also, I appreciated the kind recommendations of favorite restaurants and popular museums for after the tour.

Fantastic experience with...
Fantastic experience with our guide Viesturs - was very happy to answer our questions. The hill of crosses was interesting, Viesturs also offered other stops if we were interested in them which was nice. It is 1hr30-1hr40 in one direction on a very straight, uninteresting road, but Viesturs kept up entertained throughout.

Personalized and complete
We asked for a 4 hour private tour because we like to sight see at our pace not as a "herd". Martins took us where the tour was scheduled to go and a lot more. We chose to not spend a lot of time at the 2 castles. We got some good pictures. We asked our guide where the locals eat and spent time experiencing Latvian food at a "local" restaurant - Lido. Then we drove around Riga to see the city buildings and statues. It was a perfect day for us. The food at Lido was delicious and reasonable. The flavors were amazing.

Great Castle Tour in Riga
Family trip, first time in Riga.
The tour was very well organized. We were picked up right on time and started our way to Cēsis. There was a bottle of water for each of us in the van. The van and the tour guide (Mr Ivars) was very nice and explained everything in english. We did the first half of the tour, then had lunch in Sigulda and continue to the 2 final castles (Sigulda and Turaida).
Mr Ivars was very patient, we had a person with reduced mobility and took a bit longer to walk the castles but he waited for us with a great attitude, despite being behind schedule.
Our trip included 2 kids (10 and 11) and they also enjoyed history and the sight from the castle and their towers.
Definitely recommended when visiting Riga for the first time.
