Amazing experience! We were lucky enough to have our trip while snowing, and got to see the castles in a beautiful setting, but in any case, the experience is amazing. Our guide, Maria, was absolutely incredible, very talkative and friendly, gave us very interesting information about the history of the castles and the area, as well as the broader history of Latvia. Also, enjoyed visiting the bobsleigh court.

Edĩte was an excellent guide! She was knowledgeable about the sites and history of Riga and Latvia. The driver was courteous. The sites themselves were also interesting. You get out of Riga see the surrounding suburbs and landscape. We got to stop for coffee before exploring the castle at Sigulda, then stopped by the biggest cave in Latvia (not that big, but interesting folklore), and hiked to Turkish to explore. On the way back, we stopped at lunch at the cat bistro which was delicious.

Erlens was the perfect guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and adaptive to the group’s wishes and the circumstances. Since we had some fog, he suggested we visit the local bobsledding track instead of the scenic lookout that would have been obscured. His recommended lunch place was wonderful as well. He even recommended a great dinner spot for us after we returned to Riga. Visiting Sigulda and Turaida was very enjoyable and beautiful, but our best memory will be the time we spent with Erlens. Would highly recommend this tour!

We really enjoyed this trip to the fullest. The places to visit are absolutely worth going there, and our guide made us feeling welcome and comfortable during the whole trip. The rich history of Turaida and Segulda, from pre-Christian conversion up ito modern times, is very complicated. Erlens did a fantastic job of explaining this history clearly, and of showing our group how the local environment, castles, houses and churches played a role. Wonderful tour!
