From the moment we sat in the tinny & met guide "Tarzan" we were laughing. He was so funny and knowledgeable. First staop Tahaa vanilla farm, then drift snorkel, visit to pearl farm and motu lunch with black tip reef sharks swimming around. Great day recommend take reef shoes,we took our snorkels and wear swimmers as there's no where to change. Great day spectacular scenery & crystal clear water. Highly recommend. A must do excursion when visiting Raiatea !

Exceeded all expectations! Our guide was so lovely and ensured we were safe and well cared for. The snorkeling was the best we have ever done. Be prepared to get blown away by the amount of fish of all different colors, shapes and sizes. Swimming with sharks was an absolute highlight as well. A must do when visiting this island . Can’t recommend highly enough.

Beautiful Fish!!

Knowledgeable crew. Took us to a great place for snorkeling. The ride over and back was a little bumpy but tolerable. The water was clear and the fish were AMAZING! If you have your own mask and snorkel bring it. If not, they will provide one. You don’t need fins because you’ll just drift with the current. Next time I’ll bring a waterproof case for my camera so I can take pictures.

The tour was great, we were lucky to be only 4 people on board and we could start earlier, our guide was very friendly and we had a great time in the water. The corals were still very healthy and there were plenty of fish, a very beautiful spot (coral garden of Taha’a) and if seen lots around the world, this one has a spot in the top 3. We also saw an octopus and a large stingray, back on board we got a nice fruit bowl and some juices bevor heading to the next spot where we saw lots of blacktip reefsharks in a beautiful setting.

Gorgeous coral gardens

This was the best snorkeling we have ever experienced in the world. Our tour guide was Roy. He was great. He guided us through the coral gardens. The current would carry us so we did not need to swim, just observe the beautiful coral and fish as we as the current carried us through the coral garden. This is a must do.

This was a really interesting tour with Hubert . Despite the rain, we had a wonderful day. He has a lot of knowledge of the island and it’s history. His garden was wonderful and he showed how you can be self sufficient . His honey was amazing. Who knew bees could make honey from coconut !

Booked this tour and was really looking forward to it . Unfortunately our ship was unable to tender ashore as the weather made it unsafe. Awesome day on the water

Easy booking through Viator. The guide met us at the port of our ship (Windstar) and walked us to where the jetski was anchored. The we rode the jetski to his base and picked up another person that wanted the ride experience without having to drive it. So it felt like a private tour. The Coral gardens were amazing. Icing on the cake was seeing a whale breach while riding. Everyone should experience this awesome tour.

A little Taste of the Amazone in Raiatea

A wonderful and very well-guided kayaking tour on the Faaroa River. The beautiful surroundings felt almost like being on the Amazon – lush, peaceful and incredibly atmospheric. Our guide was very attentive and made sure that everything was safe and well organised throughout the tour. As I was travelling alone, I was also very happy to be paired with a lovely person to share a kayak with, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The pick-up from my accommodation, arranged by the operator, worked perfectly and made the whole experience very easy and stress-free. A beautiful experience on Raiatea that I would highly recommend.

Excellent tour. Highly recommended.

Just a fabulous day with our skipper and guide, Jimmy. Our cruise ship docked in Raiatea. The tour boat met us at the pier just a 5 minute walk away. The boat is well designed with easy entry from docks at the side of the vessel or from the stern down a ladder into the water. Seating was cushioned and comfortable. The young people on the tour lounged on the outrigger trampoline. We did six things: 1. Visit to a pearl farm where we got a great explanation of how Tahitian pearls are created. Beautiful jewelry was available for purchase, but no pressure to do so 2. Drift snorkel at the coral garden. We anchored on the inside, walked along the shore to the channel entrance, then drift snorkelled back through the channel. No fins needed or even desired. Just water shoes for the shore walk. The channel is zigzagged, so following your guide is important. Good coral, colourful fish including a lion fish, colourful clams. A wonderful snorkel experience. 3. A rum distillery tour. A good informative tour. Interesting, and neither of us are rum drinkers. 4. A second snorkel stop. Highlight was many reef sharks. 5. Lunch on a motu with very generous portions of local cuisine in an idyllic setting. 6. Tour of a vanilla farm. Very detailed and interesting explanation of the 4 years it takes to grow a vanilla bean. Vanilla beans and products for sale, again with no pressure to do so. So, a full day, but relaxed and never a feeling at any stop of being rushed. A great tour. Back to the dock in plenty of time to board our ship. Hats off to Jimmy.
