We have travelled the world. Literally. This was THE BEST DAY TOUR WE HAVE EVER HAD.
Nui , our guide a boat captain was the most genuine person. Polite, gentle, respectful. He was an absolute credit to the company. The tour, the itinerary, the food, the music the other guides we came across were all lovely people. Well done and Thank You Nui and the guys.
Had an excellent Experience despite the curiously bad weather October 10 had 20+ miles per hour winds and rain unseasonably cooler. Four stops by a boat 30 minute boat ride to the vanilla tour interesting good enjoyed it better than I thought. I would then 30 minutes to the rum tasting interesting but two little itty-bitty tastings. Then boat ride to Coral Gardens drift snorkel was really good despite rain and overcast then the pearl farm no hard sell but actually interesting. Nice bathroom there, then to the private motu -which was by far the best experience the BBQ food was really excellent. have to eat with your hands, but it was great to see the sharks and tons of little fish at your feet. The guide. Tarzan was truly amazing and hilarious and engaging and seems like he genuinely loves his job. The other guide for other group was French 10 people per boat- was actually very helpful and friendly also then a 30 minute crushing boat ride back to our cruise ship. I would not recommend this for people like my elderly mother who has mobility or neck issues maybe if it was a perfect weather day.
The day trip was amazing, truly blew our expectations out of the park. We stopped at a rum distillery, vanilla farm, pearl farm, snorkeling and a private island for an amazing island buffet. The food was amazing, and our guide Terehoa (not sure how to spell it 😂) went above and beyond, speaking both French and English for us and teaching us about climbing and shucking coconuts. I’d definitely reccomend to everyone

We had an amazing time of this tour and enjoyed some of the most unique experiences in our travels. Vanilla farm, pearl farm, coral garden snorkeling, freshly prepared local cuisine served literally at a table in the lagoon with fish swimming all around you, coconut ceremony, and topped off with black tipped shark swimming/snorkeling. The boat captains had amazing energy despite some clouds and lots of waves which made the boat ride slightly chilly. Highly recommend this full day adventure!!
This is one experience not to be missed. From start to finish we all had a fantastic time . Food and entertainment as well as lovely standing or swim with fish in the coral garden

We had a fabulous time on this excursion!! Hei was our guide from ARE tours. He was informative , had a great sense of humor and kept us safe on the clear blue ocean !!
We recommend this because it was all day and we swam with sharks, stingrays and the snorkeling was so great.
And eating at a MOTU was so much fun!

Our second time on this same excursion. Each one as awesome as the other! Snorkeling at the corral garden and a fantastic lunch with our feet in the water surrounded by sharks were definitely the highlights!! Terry our guide was awesome both times!!
What an amazing day. The rum factory and pearl farm were very interesting and informative with the visit to the vanilla farm being fabulous. The coral garden was stunning and an unbelievable experience, we took our own Snorkel masks and water shoes which we would strongly advise. Our lunch was amazing and there was a good variety of on offer. The after lunch entertainment provided by the staff was hilarious and great fun to say the least. Our day was made from start to finish by our captain Nui. He was courteous, conscientious and caring, making sure we had everything we needed and more whilst having the best sense of humour one could wish for from our host. Highly recommend this tour.

This was an amazing day! The guides make this experience truly a memorable one! Our guide Tarzan was great! The tour included a delicious lunch and beach time at the motu with an authentic Polynesian lunch experience and also a very funny show to follow by the guides. I would highly recommend this especially if you’re here on a stop with a cruise ship!
Wow! Wonderful day with Tarzan and Jon Pierre !! The food was wonderful the snorkeling was very good! Our guide Terehaotu? TARZAN was so kind to take care of me on this my first snorkeling adventure at 65 yrs old. I was very nervous and wasn’t going to go but he stayed with me and guided me sooo kind. Wonderful day. Saw a small vanilla farm had great coffee and ice cream. Made a quick stop at a rum factory and a pearl farm. Lunch on the motu at Jon Pierre’s estate a show or two, at with the sharks. Great time!!! Don’t miss this!
We had a great experience exploring Taha'a and enjoyed the different stops along the way. We especially liked having lunch on a motu with sharks and snorkelling through a fish filled channel. Our guide was great, always engaging and friendly and full of anecdotes.
Decided to try this tour while on the Windstar cruise. We have done several over the past few years with Viator but this was the best by far. First, our guide Terehau was the best. He was so funny and entertaining the whole day. He keep us informed of what we were doing during the day and gave us time to enjoy each stop. The food was amazing at lunch and again the staff were all very welcoming and helpful. The best part was the snorkel thru the coral garden. Terehau effortlessly lead 10 of us through with calm reassurance. Would highly recommend this tour!!
I was the only English speaker with 9 French speakers. The guide, a nice guy, would speak for 5+ minutes in French and then give me a one or two sentence “summary”. I paid the same price and got but a fraction of the information offered to others. As an experienced SCUBA diver, I was appalled and saddened by the corpse-like coral gardens. Stood upon and kicked by tens of thousands of tourists, there is little life left. Thousands of sea cucumbers, which abound when sandy bottoms are laden with bacteria, and the most common fish is the algae eating Convict Surgeon fish.

I am a seasoned traveler and I will tell you that this is the best excursion that I have ever had. From the guide dressed in Polynesian wear. To the guide singing with his eukallay to the amazing snorkeling experience Finally to the authentic Polynesian lunch and entertainment that kept you constantly laughing. You would be foolish if you would not take this excursion.
Oh what a call experience this was. Not what I was picturing when I booked this, but it turned out to be one our favorite adventures. Between the beautiful drift snorkeling to the lunch (which was so incredibly yummy) where we sat in the water with black tip reef sharks, to the incredible should I say comedy cultural show, to the beautiful vanilla plantation, it was a wonderful day had by all.
We absolutely, 💯 Recommend the authentic Polynesian experience...our crew was so funny and genuine, you could really feel the brotherhood these young men have. The history and culture they shared truly made this an amazing unfortunately experience...and to top it off, the food was delicious!
This was one of the BEST excursions we went on! I highly recommend. The guides were great, the food was great (they even hand wove our plates for us)! They sang during lunch. We ate lunch in the ocean with fish and sharks swimming by our tables! We went to the vanilla farm (not my favorite), coral garden (beautiful), saw mother and baby dolphins on our way to the Motu for lunch. Just a great day all around. I would bring mosquito repellent for the vanilla farm and motu.
This tour was so much fun, and got us right in the middle of the Polynesian culture! Arii was an incredible tour guide! We enjoyed every minute, and went out of our comfort zone while swimming with sharks in the wild! It was a great day!
Fabulous excursion. The crew were amazing and they worked together with their other groups at the beach party. They put on a true polynesian show. Loved their polynesian dress code for the guides. The vanilla stop wasnt like it was 20 years ago so of the two the pearl farm was my personal favorite-did a big of speed shopping ! My husband loved the mahi mahi they cooked over the fire. Great time!

Absolutely fantastic way to spend the day in French Polynesia ! Tarzan entertained us all day with his humor, ukulele playing, singing and showing us the sites of his homeland. We visited the vanilla farm, rum factory, pearl farm, and enjoyed snorkeling in the coral drift!! We were treated to a beautiful Polynesian lunch on a private motu where you could snorkel with the black tip sharks! We learned about coconuts and found out how to climb a coconut tree!!
Fun stops at a vanilla farm, rum distillery, and pearl farm. They were interesting without high pressure sales. We don’t drink alcohol but the distillery was still fun and we found other products there we enjoy.
Everyone was very kind and helpful.
I would highly recommend water shoes. Makes the coral garden easier.
