We really enjoyed our tour in Raiatea. Our guide is very thoughtful and funny. Snorkeling in the Coral garden is an incredible experience with very clear water and amazing views of marine animals. The BBQ lunch is also very tasty.

This trip is absolutely the best!!! Great value for your money. Even in the rain, you’ll have a terrific time and I’m the person in the world who goes out in the rain. The guy fell out of their way to make you feel safe, comfortable, and happy. Where else can you eat lunch on a picnic table in the lagoon sharks and the tropical fish? Don’t pass this one up.

This was one of the best tours I have EVER been on--and this is from someone who has done a LOT of tours. Everything was as perfect as it could be. The guides were enthusiastic and just had this wonderful, carefree, island spirit. They just put you at ease from the first moment of the tour! The coral garden snorkeling was so unique--by far the best snorkeling experience of my life. The lunch spot ... wow! First of all, absolutely gorgeous. Secondly, they had picnic tables in the water and as you ate fish swam all around you! The food was amazing--just this huge beautiful island buffet. And as were were eating the guides sang and played the ukulele. So lovely! Afterwards they put on a little show that was just so fun and full of good spirit and happiness. We also loved going to the vanilla plantation--super informative and unique! Nothing felt rushed, and every moment we were just surrounded by gorgeous island scenery. It will forever remain in my memory as this perfect, perfect day. ❤️

Great tour Arii, our guide was the best! Book this tour. The lunch was great. Really good snorkeling with the sharks and the guides teamed up and gave whole Polynesian show complete with climbing coconut trees and cracking open coconut's with bare hands.

Our trip with Are Tours was absolutely amazing! Arii is the best! The whole day was fun and informative. We visited the vanilla farm, the pearl farm, the rum distillery and did the drift snorkel. Arii took great care to make sure that the few participants that weren't entirely comfortable in the water stayed right with him, but still made sure to check on the rest of us as well. We also had lunch on the motu. While eating, that sang to us (and even sang the Moana song for me so I could record it for my grandkids). After eating we enjoyed watching Mumu demonstrate how to climb a coconut tree and open the coconut. We were then allowed to snorkel with the black tip sharks. I just cannot say enough wonderful things about our trip. It was a day that will FOREVER be remembered! Thank you again Arii for everything ❤️

Second time is just as good if not better than the first! Went with new people and we had a blast! Drift snorkeling was awesome! Vanilla farm great experience! good lunch among the rays and reef sharks!

I can’t recommend this tour enough! A great combination of snorkeling and culture. Our guide Tarzan gave us such a memorable experience. We started out with a visit to a vanilla farm and a pearl farm and then a great snorkeling experience and saw many different species of fish. It was followed by a fabulous lunch and fun entertainment all highlighting the Polynesian culture. Got us back to our cruise ship with plenty of time. Best excursion of our trip!

We had a great time! It was a fun boat ride to visit the vanilla farm and black pearl farm. We had a delicious lunch at a beautiful motu including swimming with sharks and stingrays. The entertainment was excellent. It was a great day!!

This is a great excursion in Raiatea. Personally, I didn't care for the vanilla presentation or the pearl farm (others liked it) but the drift snorkel and lunch on the motu were fabulous! All of the guides were very entertaining!

What a great day! A fun ride in an outrigger boat took us to a vanilla farm where we enjoyed an introduction to how vanilla beans are grown, harvested, and produced into various household items. Products are vacuum-sealed for easy transport home. We also visited a black pearl farm operation and showroom and learned how pearls are raised, farmed, and selected for production into jewelry. The best part of the day was snorkeling through the coral canyon. BRING & WEAR WATER SHOES! The shallow canyon (we could stand up in a most of the canyon but of course we did not do so to avoid the coral) was breathtaking in its beauty. There is a little current running through the coal canyon so you are swept slowly over the beauty below the surface. The canyon is very close to shore and not very deep so it is not scary. One gal is our group was a little anxious about snorkeling so the guide had the gal hold on to him as he led her through the entire course. The included lunch was served on plates made from leaves. We ate with our fingers (no utensils) so it felt like we had passed back through time, enjoying a great buffet. Some of the employees of the tour company performed tasks such as climbing a coconut tree, cracking a coconut to get the juice, and more. Overall. It was a great excursion

I’m not sure who’s been writing the reviews for this excursion. We did not have the same experience. Our boat only held 12, but there were with five boats. So when we went to the vanilla factory and to the pearl farm it was very, very crowded and we could not see or hear. Not the small group advertised.
The other reviews raved about their boat guide telling them all about the history of the area. Our guide barely spoke English. We did not receive any communication until we got to a stop and then the guides from the other boats would fill us in when it was obvious we had no information.
Regarding the coral garden snorkel : the gear was junk. It was cheap and the mouthpieces were chewed down to nothing. When we tried to ask our non English speaking guide if they had been sterilized he just shrugged and raised his shoulders. There also was no mask defogger. The snorkel is in very very shallow water. The coral garden is very nice but this is not a snorkel that you’re expecting. At least we were not. They do not give you fins because it is so shallow.
The lunch was very nice. You are with the whole group so a long line to get food. Plates are palm leaves: no napkins or silverware. Tables are in the water. It was a very, very cool experience. We loved the lunch. We loved the beautiful blue waters and the boat trip was nice.
This is a great trip: the tour provider should do a better job.

We totally loved our day with “Teri” and “Are”!!! Thank for the jokes, the singing and the great food! The Coral drift guide was awesome… go! The rum, pearl and vanilla factories gave a great explanation. But the island. We wanna go back to the Motu!

We had a great time on this excursion with Tarzan. He made this the easiest snorkeling we’ve ever done. The guys cooked us an amazing meal on the beach including unicorn fish. It was better than the gourmet food on the Windstar.

I highly recommend this trip. Our guide, Tarzan, was kind, informative, and took good care of us. The drift snorkeling was amazing, the amount of sea life we saw was great and the island picnic was just wonderful. Money well spent on a fabulous day!

A great day! Tarzan guided us through our experiences with skill, knowledge and charm. He really looked out for everyone. The pearl farm stop was really cool because we got to see some of the pearl making process. We loved the snorkeling and wished we could have done that again. Beautiful fish! Lunch was absolutely delicious and fun seated at tables in the water. The coconut show was very entertaining. They were very good about getting cruise passengers back to the dock in plenty of time. Another bonus was the tour started and ended at the same dock where we arrived from cruise ship tenders. A very very enjoyable day.

Our day exploring the beautiful island of Tahaa was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we met our guide Terehau (Terry), we knew we were in for something special. His warmth, humor, and deep knowledge of the island made the entire experience both fun and meaningful.
The highlight of our tour was snorkeling in the crystal-clear Coral Garden of Tahaa. The coral gardens were alive with colorful fish, and the water was calm and warm — like swimming in an aquarium.
Our beachfront lunch on a motu, featuring Poisson Cru Tahitienne, tropical fruit, and many other local specialties was delicious and entertaining. It was the perfect way to relax, savor the island atmosphere, and chat with our fellow travelers. Terry shared how to climb a coconut tree. It was quite entertaining. I’d love to tell you more, but you’ll have to go and see for yourself.
This tour was the perfect mix of culture, nature, and flavor — a true immersion into Tahaa’s charm and hospitality. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a more memorable day.

This is absolute must do. The tour guides meet you all dressed in red and white Polynesia shirts and escort you to nice red and white company boats. Very professional! Our guide Tere (Tarzan) was amazing the entire day. He shows you his islands as a local who loves his island! There are several stops including great snorkeling but you don’t feel rushed. Tere assisted all of us whenever anyone needed help on and off the boat and even with beginner snookers or those who were not strong swimmers to make their experience great. Pointed out fish and other things while snorkeling. We ended with all the tour boats from the company meeting to have a wonderful truly Polynesian buffet lunch that was fantastic. All the guides put on a musical show after lunch before we headed back to port. If I could I would give Tere and his company 10 stars!!!

I do extensive research prior to booking a tour and this one had excellent reviews. There was a mention of a tour guide Tarzan, who was awesome. Whenever we got on our boat with 10 other guests and I heard the guides name was Terehau aka Tarzan we were excited. It was a great day learning about vanilla farming, and pearl farming. Although we do not snorkle we had a nice visit at the coral garden. Lots of fish to see as you walk or swim around. We were headed to the motu for lunch and it began to pour, hard. We stopped for lunch and although it wasn't the nicely pictured blue sky day that we all hoped for no one seemed to be bothered by the rain. We still enjoyed our time and the entertainment at the motu. The fish and sharks didn't mind the rain either. We had an early departure for our tender and Terehau made sure we were back in a timely manner. We would recommend this trip 100%.

Amazing experience!! A little taste of everything with the French Polynesian culture. Drift snorkel was beautiful and local picnic lunch was exceptional. Favorite was the small reef sharks in the shallow water while we ate. Crew was phenomenal. Highly recommend!! “Tarzan was the best”
