A Beautiful Katak Trip

We enjoyed this kayak ride along a placid river surrounded by jungle. James gave us a lot of good information about many things and his wife wove a basket for us. The kayak was especially nice because the seats had backs unlike many others we saw.

This was a fun and beautiful experience! Our private group of 14 had a great time kayaking on the river, and our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the land. It was a highlight of our trip!

Booked 24 hrs before. Attempted to contact via messaging on app to confirm details without reply. Went to meeting point only to find out they did not have space for us. We were offered a later time (1pm when we booked an 8:30). Didn’t work for us. Thankfully we were able to book other options at the welcome center not with this company.

River kayaking was a great experience. Guide was knowledgeable, funny and kind. He had us stop at his home and brought us fresh coconut water and bought us fresh grapefruit at a stand along the river.

Having booked 2 days before, no one showed up on the D-day:( I had to call, and finally they came 1 hour late. But I got a ride with a private guide who taught me a lot about the fauna, flora and life of the inhabitants of Raiatea. So I was not disappointed with the experience, even if it only lasted 2 hours instead of the 3 announced.
