So worth the time and money

The hummingbird experience was a once in a lifetime experience. Hugo was an amazing guide. So very knowledgeable on a breadth of topics and a genuinely nice man. We did the chocolate tasting and it was done very personally. Do the chocolate mask. Well worth it. We had a 2nd chocolate tasting at another company in Quito and it didn't come close to the one we did in Mindo.

Eduardo was fantastic!

Our guide, Eduardo, was fantastic! He personalized the experience for us and took us to the most incredible places to see hummingbirds and butterflies. We also wanted to zip line and ride a cable car, so he took us to those places, too. He was so knowledgeable about the area - he even took us to a local coffee shop and grocery store. We would have loved to have done more but we were exhausted after a red-eye flight the night before.

This was a great day. Diego was great and knowable. The hummingbirds were exquisite and adorable landing to feed on your hand. The cable car and hike were enjoyable and it was beautiful to get out in nature. The visit to the chocolate business was also really enjoyable without sales pressure but a real desire to show their finely made chocolate. The little town of mindo was also sweet without the bustle of Banos

Amazing experience with Isra! He was very communicative well ahead of the trip as well as the day of. He gave us lots of options to personalize our itinerary, and was flexible throughout the day. He's very knowledgeable about Ecuadorian history, culture, and politics, and it was great to hear about the country through him. He also got us back in time to make a dinner reservation! Half day Mindo

Isra guided us through a wonderful day. We enjoyed feeding some hummingbirds, had an amazing chocolate tasting experience, and he even dropped us off at La Mitad del Mundo as it is on the way. Very accommodating! Do recommend eating a big breakfast, there was no time allotted for lunch. However, we ate enough chocolate for a whole meal! Highly recommend this private tour.

Slippery slopes but beautiful views

If you have poor balance or any concerns with your knees/back, beware that the waterfall hike portion in Mindo is very slippery. Bring hiking shoes and hiking poles or as to skip it to avoid injury. I slipped (I have bad balance) and luckily walked away with only a bruised tailbone and elbow. Otherwise, the place is beautiful and interacting with the hummingbirds (so many different kinds!!) is magical.
