Mindo's Cable Car takes you to the trailheads of a network of hiking trails that lead to a selection of stunning waterfalls. The shortest and closest is Cascada Nambillo, a 1-mile (2-kilometer) out-and-back trail. Cascada Reina takes about an hour to reach on foot but is the largest of the area’s waterfalls.

There is a small café on either side of the Mindo Cable Car, where you can buy cold drinks and snacks. In Mindo, you’ll find plenty of restaurants and bars that serve traditional Ecuadorian food. Make sure you’re suitably stocked up with supplies if attempting the hikes.
