He was very pleasant. Very professional. Made the experience very enjoyable. I would say I highly recommend him. I would ask for him personally if you choose this experience. 5 stars. A Highlight of Our Trip! Tons of Fun, & a Tasty Kyoto Experience!

We had a phenomenal time at the Ramen Factory in Kyoto! The staff were very friendly and made sure to take a ton of pictures of us throughout the experience. Bring your appetite, a good sense of humour, and pay attention to your teacher for the best experience! I opted for a spicier ramen while my wife went for a more traditional flavour. We recommend you make the time to check this out as a fun break from touring temples, getting lost in Gion, or from buzzing around other areas in Kyoto. Thank you for having us!

Here’s a polished review version: We did this ceremony, and what an amazing experience it was. Being part of a tradition that has been practiced for hundreds of years, guided by the tea master, was truly special. The kimonos, the beautiful photos we received, and the incredible warmth and hospitality of the hosts made the experience unforgettable. We will definitely do this again when we visit Japan. We highly recommend it to everyone — it is an absolute must-do activity and one of the highlights of our trip.

Kyoto highlights

This is an excellent tour. We took a private tour of Austin. He was punctual. He took us to various sites within the city. His explanations were thorough. His Pace was very good. We covered a lot of ground with many shrines and temples. We saw sites of historical and cultural significance. We had life at a local restaurant with Japanese comfort food. All of my family interacted well with him and he provided much information which is beneficial for the rest of the trip. I highly recommend this tour.

Went with my family, and it was educational and fun. The sumo athletes had great interactions with the crowd, and the two sumo had a great battle with one another when they had their match. The crowd volunteers vs the sumo was fun and interesting as weekend warriors and athletes from the crowd tried their best against the sumo in the ring.

Our tour guide, Etsuko, was wonderful. The driver was very experienced and competent. The communication pre-tour with Etsuko was excellent and allowed us to custom make our tour to include the sights we were most interested in. Etsuko was very knowledgeable about each site and was very prepared to provide that information. She was kind and cheerful and enthusiastic about sharing her country's history with us. She kept us on track and on time (all six of us) and navigated the crowded venues ensuring that we had quality time at the most important locations. Very professional, but still personal. She even took some great photos of our family! We ended our tour at a great restaurant that she recommended that accommodated our food preferences. Overall, just a great experience and we highly recommend it.

We had the pleasure of having Aki as our tour guide. Aki was super knowledgable and made our tour very enjoyable, she was also very helpful with taking photos whenever. Aki seemed to always have an answer for the questions that we had, and she also paid for me and my tours transportation back to the station out of her pocket post tour, and offered recommendations to other parts of Japan. Through and through a 5 star guide. Overall I would really recommend this trip to anyone looking to experience Nara.
