What are people saying about Kyoto

Nihonshu.
An excellent afternoon of learning and drinking sake. Kiyomi was amazing as she took us through all the various varieties and techniques and taught us how to read a sake bottle. I am now not overwhelmed when trying to buy and can go straight to the variety I like. Highly recommend.

Father and Son bonding excursion.
Really enjoyed this experience. Wife booked this for my son and I for some bonding time and 100% would do this again. The history and the training was enjoyable and really liked the class size. It was great to get away from the crowds and get into the history of the Samurai.

Delightful Fun Sake Tour
Rika was our guide and she was fantastic! Easy to find at the meeting point, very knowledgeable and articulate, very personable - we felt like a personal friend was taking us on a tour and teaching us all about sake!! Very fun learning about the history of sake here in Kyoto, the main brewers, the brewing process, etc. The tastings themselves were a delight. Wide variety of sake to sample, with a nice option to have some food if one desires. At the conclusion of the tour Rika made it super easy to catch the correct train and head back to our hotel area. I highly recommend this tour and especially this guide!! Rika is the best!!

We had a wonderful tour....
We had a wonderful tour. Our guide Austen showed us around hidden alleys with cool spots. He helped us spot a few rare geisha sightings and at the end of the tour, he helped us find a fun restaurant for dinner. He was also super helpful with recommending other things to see and places to eat.

Super Cool Experience with Shuun
Shuun showed my wife an amazing time and the 2 hours flew by. She is so knowledgeable about not only the nighlife in Tokyo but also the culture. We would highly recommend this tour but even more so if Shuun is your guide. 5 stars all around! Thank you Shuun for showing us a great time!

A great museum and activity for the family
This was a fun activity and we learnt a lot about the history of samurais. A great museum with a lot of wonderful artefacts. Mana was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable, friendly and energetic. The ninja star throwing was a highlight for us. Lots of fun!

Excellent experience!
We had an excellent experience with our rickshaw driver! He was personable, cheerful, full of information, and just made the whole experience delightful! We really appreciated his personality and kindness. It was a relaxing and entertaining way to see the city.

This was our favorite...
This was our favorite activity in all of Japan! We were looking for a Japanese cooking class but most were just a single item. In this class with our wonderful chef/teacher Akiko, we made 6 different dishes! From the fluffy rolled omelets, spinach salad with homemade sesame dressing, chicken teriyaki, sushi roll, miso soup from scratch -to the spectacular shrimp and veggie tempura- it was an amazing experience! Akiko was an outstanding teacher who was not only able to explain the history of the ingredients and guide us through making food but also explain the all important presentation of the full bento box. And to top it off- it was all delicious! We had a great time cooking with our teen children and feel confident we could *mostly* reproduce the meal at home! :) We were given the full recipies for the dishes to take home so we feel optimistic! Thank you so much for this amazing experience Akiko-we are so appreciative!

Amy was a fabulous guide....
Amy was a fabulous guide. She was early to meet us, very knowledgeable and got us everywhere we wanted to go. She was responsive to our needs and flexible when we needed her to be. Very grateful for our day in Kyoto and highly recommend her and this tour.

My first kimono
It took us a while to find the shop but once we got there things went smoothly.
It was quite an experience to be fitted into the kimono. I had no idea of the undergarments which were a part of the outfit. My friend and I had a ball walking through the streets of Kyoto.

So worth it!
Absolutely amazing! Kana was a gem and made learning how to make sushi look easy. It was absolutely delicious and hubby was converted! (He wasn’t particularly into sushi because of the raw fish, but everything was very fresh and tasty.) Kana’s husband, Keiran, was “Sous chef“ for the day and he gave us great tips on places to visit. 100% recommend this adventure. Thanks so much!
