After we pick you up from your hotel in Kiruna, we will start to chase the northern lights that depends on each night according to the weather conditions. We can drive to Abisko, Kiruna’s boreal forest or wherever we can find clear sky to see Aurora Borealis. Lights of Vikings have a really high success rate in finding clear sky which is one of the most important criteria to see the Northern Lights. Our concept is famous for driving long distances if necessary! Wherever we go during the tour, we will tell you many stories about the northern lights and Vikings. After finding clear sky, we’ll admire the northern lights and we will take pictures which we’ll send to you within 3 days after the tour. If you bring your own camera, we will help you set it up to get the best shots. As the northern lights dance in the sky we will serve hot drinks and make a camp fire for you to keep warm. After the northern lights tour, we will drive you back to Kiruna.

Join our local Sami guide for a day visit to Nikkaluokta to learn more about the arctic nature, Sami culture and history of the area. See Kebnekaise, Sweden's highest mountain, and get the chance to see moose, reindeer and other wildlife. In summer we do a light hike, visit Nikkaluokta chapel and have lunch in the Sami-owned restaurant, in winter we visit the guide's home for a Sami activity and lunch.

We will pick you up from your hotel in Kiruna and drive to the starting point of your snowmobile adventure on the frozen Torne River. From here, we’ll head out with a small group — just four snowmobiles and your guide — giving us the freedom to travel further and explore remote corners of Swedish Lapland that few visitors ever see. Snowmobiles can take us to places inaccessible by any other vehicle. You can choose to drive your own snowmobile or share one with another participant. We will stop at spectacular location to take photos, and enjoy warm drinks and traditional Swedish snacks. Swedish Lapland is home to unique Arctic wildlife such as reindeer, moose, foxes, Arctic hares, and owls. You will gear up in warm overalls, gloves, snow boots and hats, to make sure that the freezing temperatures are just another part of your winter adventure. The tour will begin with some careful introduction, where we will teach you how to use the snowmobile. Accompanied by a guide, you will start with some practice laps around the frozen Altajärvi Lake, only to soon drive through snow-capped forests of the Swedish Lapland. If you choose to share a snowmobile with another person, you will now change the driver and continue back to Camp Alta as a passenger, taking a bit of a different path. During a Snowdog Aurora Tour, our guides will try and take you to the quitest locations with less people, lending to a more unique and personal experience. You may also have the opportunity to meet some of our 70 Huskies if we decide that our base camp is the optimum location to view the Aurora Borealis. If we have a nice Aurora we will also take photographs and send you a link to our cloud drive approx 3 days later where you can download the images for free.
