After we pick you up from your hotel in Kiruna, we will start to chase the northern lights that depends on each night according to the weather conditions. We can drive to Abisko, Kiruna’s boreal forest or wherever we can find clear sky to see Aurora Borealis. Lights of Vikings have a really high success rate in finding clear sky which is one of the most important criteria to see the Northern Lights. Our concept is famous for driving long distances if necessary! Wherever we go during the tour, we will tell you many stories about the northern lights and Vikings. After finding clear sky, we’ll admire the northern lights and we will take pictures which we’ll send to you within 3 days after the tour. If you bring your own camera, we will help you set it up to get the best shots. As the northern lights dance in the sky we will serve hot drinks and make a camp fire for you to keep warm. After the northern lights tour, we will drive you back to Kiruna.

In our small groups we will visit the original Icehotel, the oldest church in northernmost Sweden and we will meet the reindeer at Nutti Sami siida. Our Sami guide tells you more about the Icehotel, Kiruna's history and the Sami people, while you get to see some of the most visited attractions in Kiruna.

From Kiruna, we’ll drive to Jukkasjärvi, one of the oldest villages in the region and an important historical center for the Sámi people. We’ll visit its beautiful wooden church, one of the oldest in northern Sweden, and learn about the traditions that have shaped life in the Arctic. Next, we’ll visit a Sámi reindeer camp, where you’ll get the chance to feed the reindeer and listen to stories about the Sámi way of life, their deep connection with nature, and their ancestral culture. We’ll end our day at the original Icehotel, the world’s first hotel made entirely of snow and ice. Every winter, artists from around the world create unique suites and sculptures — a true open-air art gallery that changes with every season. Join our local Sami guide for a day visit to Nikkaluokta to learn more about the arctic nature, Sami culture and history of the area. See Kebnekaise, Sweden's highest mountain, and get the chance to see moose, reindeer and other wildlife. In summer we do a light hike, visit Nikkaluokta chapel and have lunch in the Sami-owned restaurant, in winter we visit the guide's home for a Sami activity and lunch.

Borrow a camera with tele-lens from us, or use your own mobile or camera, and follow our local Sami photo guides to experience moose and other arctic animals. Our guides were born in the area and have been out in nature since childhood. We share our knowledge of photography, nature and Sami life to give you a full experience of being part of our area. After the trip, you have practiced using the camera or your own mobile phone, gained more knowledge about the Arctic nature and animals and learned about the Sami people.

Join our local Sami guides to visit Abisko, one of the best places to see the northern lights. We will give you an enjoyable evening with 3-course dinner, where we talk about the Sami culture, nature, and the Northern Lights, a visit and guiding in the Abisko area to see and experience the spectacular Aurora Borealis, or depending on weather, a chase for the Northern Lights on the way back to Kiruna. On the way to Abisko we will pass several weather zones which makes it possible to get a glimpse of aurora even when it is more or less cloudy weather. We also provide you with tripods for your camera or mobile phone if you need.
