Bhaktapur tour
Rajj is an excellent tour guide. We sincerely enjoyed our tour and learning about the history of the area. This is our favorite spot so far after being in Kathmandu for several days.

We hoped to see the Bug Man at sunrise and we did!!
The mountains are a long way away, but if you get a clear morning, it is a wonderful experience. As this is just a part of the trip, the hike including a suspension bridge, Buddhist Temple, high villages and forests and ending at Changunarayan Temple is a wonderful and full on experience. Great day!!

Bhaktapur Heritage City and Nagarkot Viewpoint
I would recommend this tour. Madhu, our guide, spoke good English and gave us helpful information about the places we visited which included the Bhaktapur Heritage City and Changu Narayan Temple, the oldest Hindu Temple in Nepal. We ended our tour at the Nagarkot Viewpoint but it was too hazy to see the mountains. Nevertheless, we very much enjoyed this tour which took us outside Kathmandu.

This is a fantastic trek...
This is a fantastic trek when time is limited. The itinerary is varied and just right, and my amazing guide Shishir was super knowledgeable and I felt really safe the whole time. They put me up in a wonderful hotel in Nagarkot with a perfect view of the entire Himalayan mountain range from the roof top. Seeing the Himalayas at sunset was a highlight, as was walking through villages and woodlands on the way there and back again. Really good value for money and I would thoroughly recommend it.

A Wonderful Window into Nepal
After having traveled to over 70 countries and taken my fair share of tours, our guide on this tour, Bidhya, was quite possibly the best tour guide I've ever had. We started our morning with a pick up at our hotel where Bidhya was waiting and drove out to Nagarkot for a short hike through the hills halfway across the suspension bridge and up to the lookout point for the Himalayas. The drive to get there was about an hour and a half in a comfortable, air conditioned car, where Bidhya gave us a very detailed explanation of the Kathmandu Valley and its history and traditions. After Nagarkot, we headed to Bhaktapur where we walked among the squares and temples, and the local streets, for a good two hours. This was a fantastic look into a fascinating world. All throughout, Bidhya explained the importance and use of the squares along with a background as to how Hinduism and Bhuddism are practiced in Nepal. After a good 6 hours, we returned to our hotel, extremely satisfied with our experience. A huge shoutout to Breakfree Adventures for putting this trip together and all the kudos in the world for the best guide in Kathmandu, Bidhya. Kudos as well to our great driver Lok who managed those Kathmandu Valley streets to perfection. A wonderful and highly recommended experience!!!

Unique experience
It was nice to get out Kathmandu and see the uniqueness of Nagarkot area. The road is windy and a bit rough in parts. The driver did a great job. Our guid did good too. We enjoyed the sunrise even with the haze blocking some mountains views.

Nice short trekking
Nice and peaceful trekking across Nepalese villages. Got to see many beautiful farms up and down to Nagarkot. The view from the hotel View Point is amazing, visibility was as a little foggy, yet a great sightseeing. Tourist guide, Anant was very kind and share many stories about Nepalese culture, religion and traditions. It’s a great short trekking for those who enjoy the outdoors and want to feel the experience of hiking in Nepal, without much time.

Peaceful day hike to Nagarkot
I had a really great day hiking to Nagarkot. The walk is not too challenging and through very beautiful countryside. It was nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. Deepak was a great guide, very knowledgeable and experienced.

When to visit

Although Nagarkot is not far from Kathmandu, poor roads mean it can take three hours to reach.
Some accommodations in Nagarkot have mountain views—request them if that’s your preference.
The viewing tower is a great place from which to snap a photo. Arrive well in advance of sunrise or sunset to get a good spot.
