Ok so we had haze and some clouds so the mountains were not clear but we still had a great trip! Communication was excellent from Anon and we were picked up exactly on time and driven (by an excellent driver) to the viewpoint. Sunrise was really nice despite the haze and we then had some masala chai sat by the fire and breakfast before the hike. Nice and easy as some members of our group favoured the shorter option and we went with the flow. Was really nice walking through the local area and at one point serving as a resting point for a goat who decided to rest against my shin for ages. Anon is a really knowledgeable and jovial guide who likes a chat and this made for a really nice fun walk: his attitude is very much get something out of the day so if the weather blocks the mountains a bit then you’re going to enjoy the walk, which we certainly did! The 250m bridge we crossed is fun and not as terrifyingly as it looks. Thoroughly recommend this trip, if you get Anon then you’re in for a really fun time and he’ll give you loads of great information along the way.

The hike itself was easy and suitable for all ages but unfortunately, on our hike day it was cloudy and foggy so we didn’t get to see the actual sunrise along with the view of Himalayan mountain range in the background. However, this will be a reason to come back again and hopefully be able to see it with our own eyes next time. As we hiked downhill, we passed the local villagers and some even greeted us with the smiles on their face.
Our guide, Ram was friendly and informative. He’s a very experienced guide and shared what he knows about Nepal with us. Together with him, our driver (Birin, not sure if I got it right), they both made sure our trip went smoothly and safe until we reached back to our hotel. Thanks again, Ram and Birin and also Luxury Holidays for arranging the tour.

I booked this experience for the day of my 46th birthday, and it is easily on my top 5 birthdays list! Ray was a fantastic guide, teaching us about everything from culture to geography to botany to zoology, and os much more! Nagarkot is a beautiful place to see the sun rise over the Himalayas, but don't expect to easily see Everest, because Nagarkot is a protected place, and trees grow. Ray was able to point it out for us, though.
One thing the booking description doesn't make fully clear is that there is a hike after sunrise. You head down the mountain, and through valleys and villages, and it's fairly wonderful! The full hike is around 15-16 miles, all the way to Changunarayan, but we only did about 8 miles. Ray was very clear that there were multiple stopping options, and told us that most people don't do the full hike, and many don't even do any of it. There are opportunities for a few stops along the way, but there are very few western toilets on the route.
Overall, a phenomenal experience, made even better by Ray.

Pradip guided us through the process. The pick-up time was smooth as previously announced. He always took care of all the participants during the hike and adjusted the pace, allowing me to take photos slowly. It was also a good memory to stop by Changnarayan Temple after hiking. It was just one person, but I'm really glad I took part.
