The tour was a perfect overview of the area--riding through the countryside, punctuated with short stops, like Foyer's Falls. ample bathroom breaks, and the finale--traversing the loch by boat. Our guide, Charlie, did not fill every minute on the coach with chatter, which was appreciated. Some Scottish music and some quiet time. Again, much appreciated. After all, the landscapes speak for themselves.

Excellent tour of a beautiful area of the Highlands. Our guide, Charlie, did an excellent job sharing stories of the area and taking us to all the key sights. The small size of the tour made the logistics so much easier getting everyone to and from the stops. The boat ride o the Lich Ness was a perfect way to end the day.

Itinerary

Join a guide and small group at a central location in Inverness, then board a top of the range, 16-seat Mercedes mini-coach for the short trip to Loch Ness. Upon arrival at the storied loch, opt to see the area on a sightseeing cruise. As you explore Loch Ness, enjoy great views of the dramatic Urquhart Castle, historic ruins at the edge of the water.

And of course, keep your eyes and cameras on the water—there have been reports of a monster in Loch Ness for hundreds of years, and the guide shares some of the most fascinating tales and sightings.

Return to shore and head to a nearby restaurant for lunch (own expense). After your meal, continue to the Highland village of Invermoriston, where you can stretch your legs on a walk past pretty rivers, a ruined stone bridge, and a historic summer home.

Keep driving to the Caledonian Canal, then turn back towards Inverness. This full-day Highland tour concludes with drop-off in Inverness.

Scotty is fabulous! He got to know us all when we first started off on the tour and then started giving us great facts and knowledge from the off. He was so interesting and held everyone’s attention the entire tour with his knowledge and humour! Small amounts of travel on the bus with lots of stops with plenty to see and learn about. The weather didn’t put us off as rain didn’t last for more then a few minutes, the sun and rainbows over Loch Ness were stunning! Would absolutely use you again for another tour!

An enjoyable daytrip

Manickam_S, Jun 2026
The tour is just what it says, a sampling of all the attractions around Lochness. The cruise to finish the tour was a nice touch.

A great tour with our guide Kev! Being from the area he was extremely knowledgeable and was able to give a personalized perspective on all of our stops. His warmth, friendliness and sense of humor added to the experience. We were traveling with our family which included some elderly parents and he was able to pace it out perfectly while still giving an amazing experience to those of us who were younger. We would highly recommend this tour.

Nice tour!

It's a shame it rained almost all day, but Charlie kept us entertained with his stories on Scotland and Highlands and with his jokes! We had a very good day!

Great tour on a beautiful day!

Great day trip from Inverness!

Judith_M, May 2026
A very nice day trip around Loch Ness! We are on a longer trip around Scotland and decided to take this day trip to see the castle and take the boat ride on Loch Ness. The lunch stop at Fort Augustus to see the canal was really nice. Charlie did a nice job leading our tour with a mix of humor, story and history. Bonus was the picture perfect weather day!

One of the best tours I’ve ever been on!

Jerika_H, May 2026
Absolutely incredible. Emily was our guide and driver and her commentary was so interesting and insightful and thoroughly enhanced the already awesome trip further. The places we visited were so beautiful and of course seeing the Loch Ness (from multiple vantage points!) was the highlight. I will say, it may be a bit challenging at times for those with any walking disability (lots of stairs and some steeper inclines) but not completely un-doable. All in all- highly recommend!!!

Fabulous experience!

Virginia_W, May 2026
This experience is very well planned and timed. The stops are well spaced and timed so you don’t get tired! Ending with Urquhart Castle and the Loch Ness boat ride back to Edinburgh through the Caledonian canal was a fabulous experience. Was more than I expected!

Beware Cruise Passengers

Annette_B, May 2026
Not for passengers on cruise ships. Difficult to get to and longer than reported. We were not able to go. However we were issued a credit!

You see a lot of interesting places with a minimum of driving time. Very good on overall insights into the Inverness Highlands and its history. Time for nice lunch, shopping. Enjoyed the walking.

Loch Ness tour

Donna_S, May 2026
It’s a full day with several chances to stop and view the beautiful scenery. Plenty of time for lunch at one of the little towns along the way. Dress in layers as we add the a/c on the bus going and were bundled up at the end.

Great guide, fantastic location locations, brilliant day.

Kym_J, Apr 2026
Guide Ryan was super fun. He had a great knowledge of the history of the area and told some fun stories. The tour took us around the whole of Loch Ness and we stopped at many locations for photo opportunities. Ryan had good suggestions for lunch and before the tour finished he also had dinner suggestions. The cruise on Loch Ness was well worth doing as well. Was a full day with lots to see. Would highly recommend nice small group.

Great tour and guide. Dress in layers as the weather in the Highlands - at least in spring - is very variable even within a single day.

Loch Ness and surrounding area

Susan_W, Sep 2025
Great tour with and amazing driver/tour guide named “Mick”! Only thing is that due to larger tour buses we didn’t stop at Fort Augustus.

Wonderful! Loch Ness, historic sites, lots to delight.

Renee_V, Sep 2025
Eilidh was a charming and funny guide for our tour around Loch Ness. We enjoyed learning tidbits of folklore and Gaelic phrases, as well as information about the history of the area. The cruise on Loch Ness after we explored the ruins of the castle was a highlight. Even though we didn't see Nessie!

Great value, all the sites without having to drive

Barbara_T, Sep 2025

It was everything we wanted. Land and “sea”. It was informative and fun at the same time! We loved the stories along the way!!

Emily was fantastic!...

Kelly_M, Sep 2025
Emily was fantastic! Super knowledgeable and friendly. This tour was a delight. Several stops around Loch Ness to see various points of interest that other tours coming from farther away may not have time for. I like kitchy things so wish she would've told us how close Nessieland was to our lunch spot, since my travel party was not hungry. I would have preferred at least a full hour to explore the castle grounds before boarding the cruise. We only have about 30 minutes by the time we parked and watched the (very informative and worth the time) video in the visitor center. There's also a free audio guide/app to download that would've been helpful to download before arriving since our time onaite was short. Overall, 10/10 would recommend this tour.
