Was issues with a voucher to exchange for tickets but we went to the cruise via open top bus but the vouchers not exchanged here but 5 miles up the road. Probably our mistake but confusing. Luckily the staff at the jacobite cruise changed them for a cruise they were doing so did not actually do this cruise. The only way to have got the voucher exchanged was to get a taxi to come out to us from Inverness which would have been expensive. If you your own car then might not have been a problem.

Very nice experience, beautiful views.
Nice staff. Opportunity to buy drinks. Bring top layer if you want to stay all the time outside.

What a wonderful setting and an impressive experience. You can see Urquhart Castle and even dock there for a visit. It was unique and impressive.
ZEEMANUDDIN_M, Aug 2026
It’s a good experience one should visit and see. Cruise time could have been more with the amount being taken.

Amazing experience.
Highly recommend. It’s a one time experience to see castle views and cruise alongside the loch.

It was difficult to hear the narrator due to many people talking in the cabin. I suggest audio guides during the excursion.

Outside seating is lovely to get the full experience. Take a coat.
Commentary is interesting. Thank you

Easy to find and plenty of seating inside and out. Friendly staff. Easy trip!
Meeting location had a great cafe and friendly staff!

This was made out to be a very interactive trip and we were very excited as our little ones are crazy for Nessie. However, it was a complete let down. Not really interactive at all, a simple voice over with some facts about Loch Ness. The only bit the kids were interested in or understood was that Scooby Doo had met Nessie.
The boat was lovely but that was about it.
Not worth the money we paid.

The boat takes passengers to view Castle Urquart and returns to the dock. While traveling to and from the Castle, a pre-recorded message is played over the boat’s sound system, explaining the history of the area. Unfortunately, the sound clarity is poor and most of the passengers are talking amongst themselves during the broadcast, making it difficult to hear anything. The trip is not worth taking, especially at a cost of $30+ pp. Note that you can visit the castle directly, no need for the boat ride!

It kills an hour and that's about it - wetter wasn't great when we went so most people were inside - really loud couldn't really follow the commentary no o e seemed to have any interest in listening to it - scenery is ok but no more than you see from the bank . Worth doing on a sunny day if you want a boat cruise otherwise not really worth the time unless you want to kill an jour

The boat ride is underwhelming when the weather is not good, (poor viewing from inside if it’s windy and raining, and you won’t want to go up top). Worth it if you purchase the extra ticket to be let off at the castle, but you can skip all together and tour the castle by driving there — and you’ll get the same views. Wouldn’t recommend or book again even on a sunny day.

The cruise was nice, wish we would have had time for a longer cruise. We really learned a lot about the history and geography of the Loch. Bring a jacket, it can get a little chilly.

THE PARKING IS TERRIBLE!!!!! Leave extra time, our boat left without us as the parking lot was full and the overflow is a LONG ways away and quite the hike up and down a few inclines.
The boat part was fine but plan ahead and do not assume you can just pull up and pack. And if you have mobility issues you cannot use the overflow lot.

Easy to book, easy to find and hop on, plenty of space on the boat. Really worth a trip took our dog he also loved it

Magical experience on Loch Ness well catered for on board with drinks and snacks available would highly recommend the experience
Jeremy_C, Jun 2026
Very nice ride down to the castle and back. Narration was a bit hard to hear with people chatting, but what I did hear was informative.
Joe_H, Jun 2026
We arrived at the parking lot at 10:49 for our 11:00 tour. The parking lot was full, so they directed us to an overflow parking lot that was a long walk back. By the time that we got parked and walked back to the dock, it was 11:02 and the boat left without us. The staff kindly placed us on the next boat at 1:00, but the experience was frustrating. We took the opportunity to go up the road to the town of Drumnadrochit for an hour and returned for our trip.
The tour itself was not very impressive. Just a 20-minute boat ride to the castle ruins to drop off some passengers and pick up some more to go back to the dock. Total trip was about an hour. The boat is nice, but we were unable to hear the narration over the speakers. The speakers outside on deck were louder and clearer, but the weather was not cooperative for a long amount of time out there. Cold, rainy, and windy.
We had a car and drove around the lake and enjoyed that more.
Not a horrible experience, but certainly did not meet expectations.

Enjoyed the trip, nice that they had covered, inside accomodations as we ended up on the rain! Would do again!
Jillian_E, Jun 2026
Beautiful cruise, gorgeous views, arrive early for parking. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting
Allen_E, Jun 2026
Great cruise! Informative and good seating options for both outside and inside. Also options for both shorter or longer boat rides. Great way to see castle from water. Highly recommend!
Iris_P, Jun 2026
Such a beautiful and relaxing experience, the day was perfect. Weather was wonderful.
The views amazing!
Carol_U, May 2026
The one hour tour was the perfect length for our 2 and 6 year olds. Beautiful scenery. Didn't see Nessie.
Franziska_M, May 2026
Very nice tour, beautiful views, cozy ship and friendly crew. Worth the price :) would do it again!!
Sherry_N, May 2026
Had a great trip. Was raining when we went, so it was very cold seating outside. You get a nice view of the castle.
CHARLENE_F, May 2026
Beautiful scenery, informative, comical narrative on board, full of intrigue and mysticism. Well worth it.
Jill_W, May 2026
This was a boat tour. We couldn’t hear any conversation or education about what we were seeing. It was highly disappointing.
Ian_O, May 2026
Breezy experience up top ! More tricky to hear the Information imparted ... Good scenery. Easy process for ticketing and boarding ! ..
Craig_K, May 2026
A really enjoyable trip over Loch Ness. The top deck gets very cold, bring scarves and gloves! There is an on board coffee shop which was a real treat to warm us up. The views are breathtaking. Well worth the money spent.
Shane_J, May 2026
It’s quick and easy Honestly if you have a car miss it and drive around the loch to the littles towns you would enjoy it more . There was a boring recorded message that they rang through twice. Would I recommend no
