- Please note: from 22nd December to 1st February 2025, Eilean Donan Castle will be closed. We will still stop at the castle for photos and access to the bridge will be available. However, the Visitor Centre and toilet facilities will be closed.

We had a fantastic day out touring Skye and Eilean Donan Castle. Our tour guide Liall was really great. He looked after us so well, he had a great sense of humour and was very informative, a really good mix of history and folklore tales. His play list was great too. There were plenty of stops throughout the day, for photo opportunities and toilet breaks, plus a visit to the Castle and a long lunch break stop in Portree on Skye. The views were amazing, such a beautiful Isle. I thoroughly recommend this trip.

This tour was honestly an amazing experience. I traveled with my two daughters and we had so much fun hearing about the ancient stories of the isles and seeing lots of beautiful scenery. Our driver Doreen and guide Marita were both wonderful and I would 100% recommend this tour.

I chose what turned out to be the best tour with Timberbush Tours. I’m usually someone who listens to music while travelling, but from start to finish, our guide Marita kept everyone engaged with her storytelling and insights. I was travelling solo, and she truly made it feel like a special and memorable journey. I would highly recommend anyone planning to explore Scotland to choose Timberbush and if you get the chance, go with Marita, who is an excellent guide.

Allan was really good, funny and knowledgeable during the tour! It was a 12 hour tour felt much shorter than that because he is a good host.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience on the Isle of Skye & Eilean Donan Castle tour from Inverness, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Lial Mackenzie.
Lial was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the Highlands. Throughout the journey he shared fascinating stories, local history, and bits of Scottish culture that made every stop even more meaningful. His storytelling style kept everyone interested and made the long drives feel short.
The tour itself was breathtaking, but Lial elevated the experience with his professionalism, humour, and attention to the group. He made sure everyone was comfortable, answered questions patiently, and pointed out hidden gems along the way that we would have completely missed otherwise.
If you’re planning to explore the Highlands or the Isle of Skye, I highly recommend this tour—and if you’re lucky enough to have Lial as your guide, you’re in excellent hands. Truly a memorable day.

I recently went on the Isle of Skye day tour with Alex as our guide, and it was a truly wonderful experience.
I’ll admit I was initially hesitant, as my original three-day tour with this company had been canceled. However, this day trip completely restored my confidence. From start to finish, the tour was well organized, smooth, and thoughtfully paced.
Alex was exceptional — knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about Scottish history and the Highlands. He shared stories that brought the landscapes to life, weaving together Jacobite history, clan culture, and local folklore in a way that felt both informative and personal. He also struck a perfect balance between guided insight and giving us space to take in the scenery.
Isle of Skye is breathtaking on its own, but having a guide who understands how to frame what you’re seeing makes all the difference. Alex did exactly that.
Despite the earlier cancellation, this experience was memorable and meaningful, and I’m grateful I decided to go.

Fantastic trip that was well worth the money. Alex was a great guide who provided knowledgeable commentary whilst driving safely. Even provided extra stops along the way. I was a solo female traveller who felt perfectly safe and comfortable the entire time. Highly recommend !

We recently took a one-day tour to the Isle of Skye, and while it was a wonderful experience, our biggest regret is that we didn’t stay for more days.
The tour was the perfect “taster” of what the island has to offer and definitely left us wanting to return and explore more.
What We Loved -
Our guide, Owen, was absolutely lovely and incredibly knowledgeable.
He went above and beyond by stopping at additional locations that weren’t even part of the itinerary, which made the experience feel more personal and special.
Thanks to him, we were able to see even more of Skye’s breathtaking landscapes than we expected.
A Gentle Suggestion -
We do understand that it’s a very long day with a lot of ground to cover.
However, there were moments when the driving felt a bit rushed, particularly on the return journey, where we felt uneasy at one point and briefly worried about a potential collision.
A slightly calmer pace would have made the experience even more comfortable.

Great full-day tour of the Isle of Skye, Eilean Donan Castle, and other areas in between from Inverness! First and foremost, I simply cannot express how lovely, professional, and knowledgeable Fiona (our tour guide and driver) was at all times! She was truly exceptional! This tour will give you a good sense of what the Isle of Skye has to offer, and without a doubt, it will make you want to come back to spend a much longer stay! (Something that I believe we will definitely do in the not-too-distant future). Even though the weather was a little unpredictable, we still managed to enjoy the whole experience and appreciate the magnificence of the landscapes and idyllic coastal towns. If you take into account the duration of the tour, the places you will visit, and once again, how lovely and professional your guide is, then I will say that it's worth every single penny! We definitely recommend it! Thank you, Fiona, for such a great day!

The tour guide plus driver, Stewart managed to drive and give explanations all along the way.
He did a very good job to avoid the crowd from other groups.
His English is pretty close to standard English which makes it easier to understand. He then explained because of the severe suppression of Gaelic Scottish right after the battle of Culloden, people from Inverness do not carry a strong Scottish accent.
Lots of information obtained in this tour, love that. Thank you for spelling out some special wording while explaining. It was really helpful for overseas travelers.

The day is long, with a lot of time in the bus. I am sure that it would have been spectacular if the weather had cooperated, but Alan, our tour guide provided us with so much information about the history, culture, and folklore that it was thoroughly entertaining.
