Depending on the route (half day or full day) the organization will define the Schist Villages to visit in each program, but as a rule are the following: Gondramaz (Miranda do Corvo), Aigra Nova (headquarters of the Schist Traditions Eco-Museum) and Aigra Velha (Góis) and Candal, Cerdeira or Talasnal (Lousã). Montalto, Serra da Aveleira, Selada das Eiras, Posto de Vigia, Mata da Margaraça, Fraga da Pena and Aldeia do Xisto de Benfeita. No lunch included. Afternoon: S. Pedro do Açor, Estrada Real, Chãs de Égua, Piódão and Monte do Colcurinho. The route can be adapted according to the intended departure and arrival location. On the way to Buracas valley, we will hike in fields of lapiás, authentic “stone cemeteries”, dolinas (sinkholes) and hold your breath for the most impressive scenery of all: the Casmilo caves, popularly known as “the mouths of the mountains”. Then we will enter the canyon and hike to the Our Lady of Circulo Santuary, in the top of the mountain, and visit the Outeiro windmill! In this hike we will also pass in three mountain villages. Finally, we will see remnants of a structure that was used to defend against attacks such as the Castle of Germanelo, here more than the castle is the view that plays the main role.
