The wine route passes through charming, quaint -fairytale, fortified villages and rolling vineyards set against a back drop of the Vosges mountains speckled with castle ruins. 'Trust me' to take you beyond the busier, tourist packed cities of Strasbourg and Colmar on a grape escape to discover some of the smaller, charming medieval villages like Kaysersberg, Riquewihr, Obernai, or Barr visiting 2-3 independent wineries for more personal wine tastings.
