Fantastic tour with Ioannis
This trip to Cape Sounion is so gorgeous and a must do day trip from Athens. Ioannis was our driver and he was fantastic. He was super friendly, gave us a lot of information about the area and took us to a great restaurant stop for dinner before sunset, as well as gelato on the way back to our hotel. This place is by far the best sunset spot around Athens and is SO gorgeous and well worth the drive.

Excellent quick trip to ancient history
The perfect ending to my vacation in Athens. Vasilis, our guide, was very informative, naturally
funny, and professional. The views were great. And it was relaxing to sit on the rocks and wait for the sunset for great pictures The bus was very clean and efficient.

Athens day trip experience.
Wonderful experience. The staff at the tour operator were friendly and hospitable. The explained what was going to happen very clearly. The tour bus was clean and comfortable. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and spoke good English. He ensured everyone was accounted for at the different stops before departing. All in all great experience. Definitely recommend this tour operator.

Stunning road trip
The minibus was comfy, clean and air conditioned.
The guide engaged with all of us and gave comprehensive history lessons about the journey we took, as well as the mythology behind it.
The views were beautiful. Unfortunately the temple closes straight after the sunset but you get stunning views on your travel back as well.
P.S. - take a jacket, as the temple gets mighty windy and chilly at dusk

We enjoyed this tour...
We enjoyed this tour thanks to our outstanding tour guide, Julia. She is funny yet knowledgeable and accommodating. We had a small group of 8. It was a very windy and cloudy day so we were not able to see the sunset.

Magical Sunset at the Temple of Poseidon with Alex
We loved the Cape Sounion sunset tour with Alex. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience easy and enjoyable. Seeing the Temple of Poseidon at sunset was absolutely stunning — the views over the Aegean were unforgettable. A real highlight of our trip and highly recommended

Temple of Poseidon
This is an amazing experience that not everyone who goes to Athens has a chance to do. A must see if you have the time .
Yannis is really an awesome guy who goes out of his way to inform and make your trip as good as it can be.

The drive was a bit long...
The drive was a bit long (probably because of where we were staying) but it was very nice to see the island outside of the city. Our driver, Jason, was a very kind, pleasant young man. He made a few short stops so we could take pictures on the way. Unfortunately the evening we went it was rather cloudy so the sunset wasn’t as beautiful as we had hoped. All in all I would recommend taking this tour.

Temple of Poseidon.
Tas was an amazing guide. Friendly and informative. Took us to an amazing family run restaurant for authentic Greek food. The Temple was beautiful as well as the drive along the coast.

It was a nice trip to see...
It was a nice trip to see the sunset at the Temple of Poseidon. Everything worked out accordingly. Just the Meeting-Point was not completely clear to me at first. The Guide was very well educated and friendly.

When to visit

One of the most iconic sights in mainland Greece, Cape Sounion is a must for photographers, Instagrammers, and history buffs.
The 19th-century poet Lord Byron carved his name into one of the columns here. Please don’t follow his example, although plenty of travelers have.
The site includes a café-restaurant, a gift shop, and restrooms.
Slopes and uneven terrain present some challenges, but it’s possible to get close to the Temple of Poseidon using a wheelchair. The steep beach path is not wheelchair-accessible.
