We had a great time! Our guide was very experienced and helpful. We also got some information of trees, wildlife, and the volcano during the hike. The shuttle ride was straightforward as well and was on time. Thanks again, we had a blast!

This was a fantastic experience! The pizza tasted very good and felt satisfying after a hard trek. Fausto was a sweet and accommodating tour guide.

Good experience
Great adventure. The location is good. The tour guide and taxi driver were both very helpful. They helped hire horse for me. And made marshmallow!
I am rating 4 instead of 5 because of communication issue at pickup. I ended up waiting for 30 min at 6am before I was picked up. And the guide though super nice, knew very limited English.

Challenging, but worth the effort.
As two 70 year old hikers not used to mountain terrain we found the hike up Pacaya to be medium difficulty. There were plenty of opportunities to set your own pace. Our guide was great. Horses were available, if needed. Hiking to volcano peak is not allowed, but views from to highest point allowed were amazing.

Scenic. Beatiful. Fun!
Incredible views of pacaya volcano. It was easy to book and set up the pick up location. A great value and a must do.

A good walk
This was a good excursion. A 2.5km hike with 300 m elevation change. A gift shop and pizza or marshmallows cooked on the hardened lava. Quicker coming down than going up. Our tour guide, Davis, was outstanding and would do an excursion with him again.

Volcano Hike
Amazing hike but you need to be in good hiking condition. If you’re not then you can still do the adventure on a horse for an extra charge. Got a great view of volcano eruption in the distance.

This hike was definitely...
This hike was definitely harder than we anticipated, mostly due to high altitude (we come from Georgia). My wife and I didn't make it far up the mountain before we had to hire a horse to taxi us the rest of the way ($45 USD, not GTQ). Our tour guide kept up with us the whole time and made sure we were okay, teaching us about the volcanic history. Views were incredible. We even got to roast marshmallows at the volcano! Be sure to prepare for cold, windy weather at the top. Great experience!

Super great hike—best horse ride!
The uphill climb was a bit hard but I’m 68. So I got a ride up the volcano on Chocolate, the horse. A very gentle horse. Once on top the view was amazing. Walking down the other side was easy. And the lunch waiting for us was great. The guides were so friendly and informative. I highly recommend going with a tour so you get the story.

Hiking the Pacaya
This was a great hike....not too difficult and too time consuming but still very rewarding. David was a great guide....the vistas and the satisfaction are totally worth it

Bring cash to pay your entrance fee to Pacaya National Park.
Wooden sticks that serve as hiking aids can be bought at the base.
Wear shoes with good grip, as volcanic scree (loose rock fragments) can be slippery.
While glowing red lava flow used to be commonplace, it is now a rare sight on Pacaya.
