Top Alaska Adventure Tours in 2026

Kayak on TWO amazing glacial lakes! This adventure begins with a paddle across Trail Lake in Historic Moose Pass. Our guides bring this small Alaskan town’s history to life. The stories of locals like Alaska Nellie, the ghost of gold miner Al and the famed Iditarod Trail provide plenty to ponder as you paddle along the shores of Trail Lake. After a short paddle south, glide to shore for a hike along a section of the Iditarod National Historic Trail as we head up and over the ridge to the stunning, emerald waters of Grant Lake. While moderately rated in regard to the terrain, there's no denying we're in wild Alaska along this route due to the rapid growth of the vegetation in the spring and summer along the trail. The feelings while staring out across Grant Lake are hard to describe and the views are breathtaking. We'll take some time to have lunch here, then we'll set out on kayaks once again to experience this area from the water before hiking back down the trail toward Moose Pass.

Golf with stunning views of mountains, glaciers, rivers, waterfalls, and more. Travel from Skagway to Haines by high-speed catamaran. Tour Fort Seward before heading to the golf course to collect your clubs, pull-cart, balls, and shoes. Spend 2.5 hours on this scenic 9-hole course, stopping to admire eagles, moose, mink, and otters. End with a delicious snack of smoked salmon before your return to Skagway.

Get out and see for yourself how Alaska’s adventures don’t play by the Lower 48’s rules. On this private, guided tour, you’ll head to Chugach State Park—comparable to any national park in the country. Across seven hours of moderate-to-strenuous hiking, you’ll spot alpine lakes, wander along glacial rivers, climb craggy mountainsides, and follow as your guide pinpoints all that’s wild and wonderful in this untamed land.

Travelers looking for a challenging adventure can look no further than this whitewater excursion on class level V rapids—a step below the level saved for experts. It’s a 3-canyon run along Six Mile Creek—home to some of the most exciting whitewater rafting in Alaska—descending more than 50 feet per mile (1.6 kilometers) down the Chugach Mountains. A veteran guide joins each raft to help navigate the rapids.

The Knik Glacier off-roading and hiking tour stands out because it combines two adventures in one—an exciting ride through true Alaskan wilderness in a specially modified Jeep, followed by an up-close hike to one of the state’s most dynamic and impressive glaciers. Unlike crowded trails elsewhere, the Knik area is remote, quiet, and constantly changing, with shifting icebergs, bright blue melt pools, and dramatic mountain views that make every visit unique. Guests get the thrill of rugged off-road travel, the beauty of glacier trekking, and unforgettable photo opportunities—all without needing technical skills—creating an authentic, immersive Alaska experience you won’t find on other tours.

Head out on an adventure to the majestic Chena Hot Springs Resort for a night soak and a northern lights display. Enjoy the winter wonderland on the way and keep your eyes peeled for wildlife (Moose, Caribou, Fox, Lynx or Beaver) but also trust your guide to point it out and stop for a quick photo. Once you arrive at the resort you will have time to enjoy a hot meal at the Chena Hot Springs restaurant or go straight to the hot springs for a night of relaxation. On the way back if active Aurora displays occur your guide will make sure to stop at the best locations for you to save that lifetime memory with your camera. This is an amazing way to be guaranteed to see many of Alaska's most sought after wildlife in a safe and animal friendly park! The bears are adorable, but trust me, seeing a bear in the wild can be a pretty intimidating. Much of Alaska's wildlife you will never see and even the moose, which are super common, visitors can go days or even weeks without seeing one and sometimes you'll see a few in any given day but visiting Alaska's Wildlife Conservation Center guarantees you'll see these animals and so many more! Licensed by Alaska's Transportation Department, this is for 3 - 10 people because of the way the Viator commissions and Park fees work, if you are just one or two people you can still book the tour but I need to charge for 3 - 10 people to make it feasible, if that makes sense.

Adventure. Authenticity. Exploration. This tour embodies these ideas. Leave the trails and cookie-cutter tours behind to go off-trail into the magical boreal forest just outside of Denali National Park. Put on your future-shoes for a moment. Your feet sink into the deep moss that carpets the forest floor. It feels like walking on a memory foam mattress. Your guide hands you a handful wild blueberries. They’re tastier than the ones you bought at the store. The flavors wash over your tongue as your guide tells you about the nutritional benefits. From the corner of your eye you spot movement! A snowshoe hare. It hasn’t lost its ivory-white winter coat yet. Your guide decides to change course and follow the hare. Why not? You’re not on a trail. Now drag yourself back to the present. Is that snapshot something you want to experience on your Denali vacation? If so, you're the person we designed this tour for. The magic starts when you leave the trail. We donate 5% to conservation.
