Fascinating history

The castle was beautiful and fascinating. Our guide knew lots of history and was able to answer all of our questions. The wine lunch after was incredible- delicious food a variety of tasty wines.

Lovely day in the countryside

We had a very nice time on our tour to Trakoscan Castle and Vuglec Winery. Our guide Robert was friendly, timely, professional, and lovely to chat with about life in Croatia. The castle and museum are excellently restored, well kept, provide a lot of information, and clearly have some artifacts that one would not see anywhere else. Vuglec was heaven on earth - lovely views, friendly staff, great food, and plenty of good wine. Our only regret was spoiling our dinner - if you’re going to Vuglec, skip breakfast and plan on a light dinner, because the lunch is plentiful!

Castle and winery tour

The tour guide Vanja was lovely and friendly, provided some history and had great chat. Amazing views from the castle and the lunch and wine tasting was amazing!! Very incredible food and lovely views for lunch. Only negative was that I felt the tour was a bit overpriced.

Day in croatian countryside

This tour could have been so much more if they removed the second stop. We felt sorry for Harry having to show us this part. He looked embarrassed by the host’ s antics. The visit to the Trakoscan castle and the wine tasting experience were exceptional.

Visiting the castles and interacting with our guide made for a delightful day. The winery and its views were amazing—delicious! I highly recommend this tour as a way to experience the countryside and learn some history about this beautiful part of the world.

Castle fun near Zagreb

An amazing day spent with our tour guide Ned. We started off and the first castle which is a museum operated by the government. It is really well maintained and in a beautiful setting. The second castle is owned by and older lady with incredible knowledge of the home’s history and a massive collection of art from Croatian artists. The last stop is a winery which is in a beautiful location to go along with the excellent wines and food. Ned was incredibly knowledgeable about each location and a lot of fun to spend the day with.

LOVED this excursion... NED was so fun! We asked lots and lots of questions about all things Croatia... Castle was great, private castle with a tour and history by the owner was so special... What a treasure! The wine experience was so FUN! 'Stef' our wine steward explained the wines and poured 5 different wines... pick up and drop off was great and office staff responded to many emails and questions very timely. HIGHLY recommend this tour!

Hidden mansion gem

Knowledgeable and accommodating guide. Second castle is a restored old mansion owned by the only female professor of biology at the University of Zagreb in the seventies. Her house has an extensive collection of Croatian artists from the 1940s on. Winery gave us 7 wonderful wines to try.
