Excellent day tour with a small group and knowledgeable local guide. Went as a solo traveler and had a lovely day in the Moors, Whitby, and train ride.

Lovely relaxing trip through the Moors and northern England. Whitby is a beautiful seaside town that definitely should be visited. Our tour group was very small which was wonderful!! The guide, Pete, was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the day and it was a nice break to go out into the country.

I have always had great experiences with Viator and today was even better.
We were scheduled to go to the North York Moors but there have been wild fires spreading there for the last 2 weeks. We received several emails about how Viator wouldn't place us in danger and several options were provided should travel through the Moors not work out. We discussed the options once everyone on our tour (7 people max, as promised) was together. Ultimately, there was a slight change to our train but everything else went on as planned. We felt safe and had a great time.

Chris was an excellent tour guide whose knowledge and humor made this tour the highlight of my trip to England. In addition to all the amazing sights advertised on the tour, we even got a bonus visit to Byland Abbey. Chris did a great job of preparing us for each stop and providing context for what we were seeing. I can’t recommend this tour highly enough!

We had the absolute best day with Chris showing us around the North York Moors and the beautiful villages it holds. The day started out misty which actually just ended up making the experience even more magical. We had sun and a little bit of rain here and there, but these places are gorgeous either way so I wouldn’t worry. With our very experienced and knowledgable tour guide Chris we got to see and learn so much about the places we visited. Also, the steam train ride had been on our bucket list for a long time and it was absolutely amazing. Forever grateful for the experience, thank you!!

The North Yorkshire Moors and Whitby. It was a great balance between guided tours and independent exploration. Our guide Chris did a wonderful job explaining the local and historical geography, history and culture of the region. He stopped at scenic areas for us to take pictures and soak up the history and breath taking views.

Chris our driver/ guide was very knowledgeable about the area, even though it was a bit rainy in the morning had an enjoyable 2 hours in Whitby and a lovely steam train ride from Goathland to Pickering, scenery was amazing a very enjoyable experience

Well organised trio, all really enjoyed, was for my father in laws special birthday, my 9 year old son also enjoyed, the tour guide picked us up on time, the mini bus was very comfortable and Chris the guide was very friendly, professional & knowledgeable. The steam train topped the day off.

Chris was amazing. Right on time, SUPER knowledgeable, tons of amazing things to see and some "secret" bonus stops. The train from Goathling to Pickering was a fun Hogsmead thing to do. Never in a hurry and lots of suggestions at each stop made for a relaxing day. And with a small group, it was intimate and very personal. I HIGHLY suggest this for anyone visiting York or nearby Yorkshire. Don't miss this! 10 out of 10.

Loved this trip. Chris was an excellent guide. He grew up in the Moors so had a lot of insight to the area. The Moors were gorgeous with the heather in bloom. Chris incorporated extra stops along the way and we saw beautiful abbey ruins, totally unexpected and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Whitby was beautiful and we enjoyed our lunch there. We stopped at a picture perfect church in Pickering with lovely wall paintings.... again had the place pretty much to ourselves. The main reason we did the tour was for the steam engine ride. This almost didn't happen because the train we were supposed to take was cancelled, but Chris stayed apprised of the situation and was able to find an alternative for us so we didn't miss the experience. This is a great tour!

Brilliant day!! Our guide Chris was very knowledgeable - full of historical facts and local tales as he grew up in the area. Nothing was rushed although we covered a lot of ground in the day and were also shown some ‘hidden gems’ off the tourist track.
Would thoroughly recommend this day trip to anyone who wants to see more of Yorkshire.

It rained the entire day and we were all soaked to the bone by the time we returned back to York. The tour guide was sparing with information about the area and wasn't that engaging with the guest.

Best was to get better picture what Yorkshire looks like outside of towns and see the moors also. For foreigner there's a little threshold to rent a car, because the traffic is different handed.

Chris was a fantastic guide! Great sense of humor and lots of interesting information—including place names, local info on flowers and animals , and historical info. The time really flew by on this tour! I sometimes get worried about the length of some excursions, but this was a long day that didn’t feel long in the slightest.

Chris, our tour guide, picked us up at the hotel and there were a total of 7 guests. Drove through small towns and Chris who is very knowledgeable explained the history of the area and the moors. Steam train ride was good. The weather was beautiful so that helped and I would recommend this tour

A great day despite the mist over the Moors. If you want to know more about origins of village and area names then Chris is your man. We learned quite a lot and in a very interesting way. The steam train ride was an added bonus. I couldn’t recommend this day and our drive/guide highly enough
