Great experience with Shinji on our private tour requiring only walking, trains and busses. KAMAKURASI temples and shrines are much more interesting when described on the spot. Weather was perfect in October. Great photo, food and experiences.

Exactly what I wanted & requested! Takako spoke very good/understandable English (she's a teacher) and went above-and-beyond to make my visit exactly what I desired. We visited the Kencho-ji Temple, the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, the Hokoku-ji Temple (with the bamboo grove), the Kotoku-in Temple (with The Great Buddha statue) and the Hase-dera Temple (with the 11-headed Kannon statue). A side benefit: I quickly became comfortable using the local train/bus systems (important for my solo trip into downtown Tokyo two days later). And be aware: while you can tailor the trip howsoever you wish, there is potentially quite a bit of walking - so take into account your personal fitness & stamina. Highly recommended tour & guide - arigato!

A lot of walking, but there was a ton to see in Kamakura. Our guide, Koba, was friendly and very knowledgeable. He let us set our pace and was very open when we wanted to spend more or less time at any of the stops. We’d highly recommend a tour of beautiful and historicKamakura, and our guide Koba

Thank you for your very positive review. In Kamakura, we visited Zuisen-ji Temple, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Kencho-ji Temple, and Kotokuin Temple (Kamakura Great Budda). As some of these temples are located in rural areas, we walked a lot, but I guess you enjoyed the calm atmosphere of the remote temple in Zuisen-ji. We saw beautiful flowers there as well. Please come to Japan and enjoy good spots and foods!

Sam was our guide for this tour and he was amazing! We arrived at the port of Yokohama and he met us there. He guided us through all of the public transportation to arrive in Kamakura. I was with my mom who is in her late 80s. Sam was kind and took his time with our tour. We stopped when we needed to and he wasn’t frustrated with us or in a hurry. We ate at a wonderful local tempura restaurant. We were back to the port in plenty of time. I would not hesitate doing this trip again. It was a nice clear day and on our way back to Yokohama, he suggested going to the top of the Landmark hotel to see amazing views.

Taka did an excellent job with this tour! He helped us thru the train maze then on to Kamakura! His English is very good, easy for husband with hearing aids to understand. Very knowledgeable about so many things! We had some great conversations with him! The Budda is an amazing sight to see! So worth the trip! And the traditional Japanese lunch was the best! He gave us full instructions on how to eat the delicious lunch! Delivering us back to our hotel after our day was so nice!

The day began when Shinji met us at our hotel. We were not at ease with the public transportation system from there to Kamakura so he helped us navigate it for the entire trip. We visited four amazing sites including the Giant Buddha and the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. He adjusted the pace of the tour to our age and physical limitations. When we requested a traditional Japanese restaurant he found one and we enjoyed a tasty and delicious lunch. At the conclusion of the tour he brought us back to our hotel before returning home himself. We would definitely recommend him to any future travelers to Kamakura.

I had received a photo of you and your wife in advance, so I was able to easily find you when we met at the hotel reception. Thank you for your consideration. Some of the spots you originally requested for this tour were spots for people who wanted to do long hikes, so I proposed a course that would allow you to leisurely explore similar spots using public transportation. . I'm glad you enjoyed it. You seemed to be feeling unwell on the day of the tour, but I hope that you will recover soon and enjoy sightseeing in Japan.

My travel group was so pleased with our guide, Kenzo! He met us at the Osanbashi cruise terminal in Yokohama and led us to Kamakura using public transportation. His guidance made our journey stress free! We enjoyed visiting Hokokuji Temple - a Zen Buddhist temple, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, lunch on Komachi Street, and finally the Kotoku-in Temple to see the Great Buddha statue. Then Kenzo escorted us back to the cruise terminal. It was a wonderful day!
