We enjoyed a 4 hour walking tour around the sites of Yokohama. We enjoyed seeing Yamasita park and Sankeien Gardens. Had the opportunity to ride the local bus and see the sites around the port. Our guide Yana was very friendly and knowledgeable.

We covered a lot in the 4 hours allotted for this tour. Abir was great. She really knew her Japanese history/culture and we learned a lot! It was nice having someone lead us, especially navigating the train system (which is great btw). Chinatown was fun and we got to taste some of their delicious foods.

While almost every personal tour we have ever booked with Viator was outstanding this, unfortunately, was not. The guide failed to identify that three of the principal sites was closed the day of our tour. Had we known this we surely would have cancelled. We assume any local expert knows the workings of their area and would preadvise of any closures. When we asked for a fee adjustment it was denied by the subcontractor.

I am so sorry you are not familiar with the days of the week - they can be tricky I know.
You booked the time and day of your tour, and complained that not everywhere was open.
For future reference - here are the days of the week - in chronlogical order:
Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday /Thursday /Friday / Saturday / Sunday.

We thought this would be a multi-person walking tour with a planned itinerary, but it ended up being a private one. We knew entry fees were not included, but didn't expect to pay train tickets and the fees for tour guide as well. Tour guide very friendly but we did not get as much history and information as we would have liked.

Lana was our guide and she is very nice and polite. She took us to all the locations as stated. We are very happy with her service. If we can and visit Yokohama again we will definitely ask for her.

Lana did a wonderful job guiding us through Yokohama. She met us at our hotel and we started off in Yamashita Park the walked to the side of the city where foreigners originally lived under British rule. Lovely English gardens and western style homes and Foreign General Cemetery. Then to Chinatown for shopping and a great lunch. Visited the Guan Di Miao temple then onto the Red Brick District. Rode the Yokohama Air Cabin to finish the tour. I am sure I left things off the list since there was so much to see. Lana provided lots of info on Yokohama history and gave of lots of info on places and things to do on our two remaining days in Yokohama. We highly recommend Lana and Jewel Tours Japan!

Please take a half day walking tour with Viator and Jack. Jack really helped us experience Yokohama. My husband and I did not know how fantastic Yokohama was. Jack also went above and beyond to help us figure out where to store our luggage after our cruise. Jack pointed out landmarks such as rhe Landmark building, which we opted to visit, told us about Yokohama’s history and growth and gave us info about the Cosmo World, historic ship, took us to China Town and was an absolute guide with knowledge and kindness. The host Vanessa was friendly and well spoken. She is an ideal tour guide and I enjoyed her company. The tour company however is grossly overcharging customers ($120) for this walk. Check out airbnb experiences for significantly better deals or just walk the city yourself.

Hi - Thank you so much for your feedback, Unfortunately most if the tours you mention are unlicensed and unregulated. We pay all our local and national taxes / memberships and licenses to be fully compliant. The government is cracking down on these illegal operations so they usually stop, change name and start again!!!

We had a great time with Raffa! We came off our cruise very late due to a 3 hour customs wait. He came early and waited for us. Raffa’s English is excellent and easy to understand.He showed us the highlights of Yokohama and brought us to the most delicious Ramen restaurant. His enthusiasm and knowledge was superb. We caught a cab back to the cruise port and he stayed with us the whole time. Thank you, Raffa for your kindness and excellent tour!

Rachael is a great guide, with a lot of local knowledge. Did a lot of walking, which could be an issue for some. She did an excellent job of explaining how to use the trains and subways, which was a great help for us.
