It can be strenuous but well worth the effort. Peni is a wonderful guide attentive to your abilities. Definitely experience the deep culture and village in the mountain. Feel this is a part of Fiji very few travelers get to experience. Put your western ways aside and develop an appreciation for a special part of the southwest pacific islands. The lunch in a local home was very special. Peni is the best!!!

This was such a cool, authentic experience. The guide was absolutely amazing, and so knowledgeable. I would encourage you to bring a change of clothes and dry shoes. It was such an authentic experience eating real Fijian food, in one of the villagers homes. We felt like a guest, not a tourist. Would definitely recommend and book again.

An amazing day hiking with Peni. Explored the waterfall at Koroyanitu at our own pace. Learned about Fijian culture both in the past and present-day. Great views, and all topped off with a delicious lunch prepared at the local village. A must-do for your Fijian holiday! Peni has other options available too.

Peni is an incredible guide - I learned so much about Fijian culture and history, flora and fauna, and all round had an amazing time. This is the perfect outing if you're keen for some activity, but not have it be the full basis of the day.
I cannot recommend him enough, I'm only sorry I booked through Viator and not directly through him. He'll tailor tours to suit your specific needs and wants if you like!

An amazing experience from start to finish. The walk to the waterfall was spectacular, as was the waterfall itself. The tiny village where the trek started and ended was truly authentic and the villagers were so welcoming. The day would not have been as enjoyable without our exceptional guide, Peni. What a knowledgeable and lovely man! He told us stories all day about the geography and history of the area, and he and my husband had a great chat about the rugby league! A truly lovely man who clearly loves his country and his people. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience abit of the Fiji that sits outside of the resort boundaries.

We had a fantastic day with Peni - it was truly the highlight of our trip!
The hike to the waterfall was very hot but we could stop along the way as much as we needed to. The waterfall was absolutely gorgeous and we could go for a dip when we got there! Once returned to the village, we shared lunch which was made by a family and then Peni took us to Laukota so we could drive through the city!
We had a great day - Peni was so informative and had lots of stories to share! This was the highlight of our trip and we can’t wait to go back to Fiji soon!
