We went during the 6:30 pm time-slot and had a wonderful experience! Ivan was our guide and he was great! The trip was informational and was well worth it. We were in a group of four, so it was simple to divide us into two different kayaks. Trip took about an hour and a half, start to finish. We were able to see incredible bioluminescence in the water and also an amazing star view. Would absolutely do it again!

If I could give this zero stars I would. Shame on the company as well as viator. The company failed to inform me at the time of booking that my family would HAVE to stay overnight due to ferry times. Upon calling and complaining, Viator allowed them to CHANGE their listing to include the information that was not present during my initial booking and my initial call to ask for a refund. Instead of assisting me in recieving my refund back Viator let the company be sneaky. I am so dissapointed. I was on vacation with my young children who were so excited about this experience and it left them in tears---very unprofessional viator!
This was such a beautiful experience! The clear kayaks is a must because you can see the lights under you! Our guide was Javier and he was amazing! He was very knowledgeable and made us feel safe and comfortable considering we were rowing in the dark. Booking this excursion is a must!
It was great. Very bright. Guides were great and very informative. We even got an astronomy lesson. Go when it's darkest, around a new moon if possible.

If you're deciding whether to book this, just do it. We did the clear kayak tour and seeing straight through the water while the bioluminescence lit up around us felt like paddling through stars. Truly a bucket list experience.
Our guide Ivan made it unforgettable, a 20/10 easily. He explained everything with real knowledge and passion, answered every question, and even gave us great tips for the rest of the island. He explained why they protect this bay so carefully, no swimming, no motor boats, and you can feel that this team actually cares about preserving it, not just running tours.
The whole crew, including our driver Torres, made the night feel special. They even helped a couple who had booked with a dfferent company and were a no show. Book now, you won't regret it!

Si estás pensando reservar, hazlo! Hicimos el tour en kayak transparente y ver el agua debajo mientras la bioluminiscencia se encendía se sintió como remar sobre las estrellas. Una experiencia que hay que vivir sí o sí.
Nuestro guía Ivan hizo que fuera inolvidable, un 20 de 10. Explicó todo con conocimiento y pasión, respondió cada pregunta y hasta nos dio buenas recomendaciones para el resto de la isla. Nos explicó por qué cuidan tanto esta bahía, nada de nadar, nada de botes de motor, y se siente que a este equipo de verdad le importa preservarla, no solo hacer tours.
Todo el equipo, incluyendo a nuestro conductor Torres, hizo que la noche se sintiera especial. Incluso ayudaron a una pareja que había reservado con otra agencia y no estaban ahí. Reserva, no te vas a arrepentir!
You won’t experience anything else like this. The clear kayaks are the only way to do it. Not only is this tour educational on the bio bay, but it also give you great facts about the stars
Terrible experience from beginning to end. The customer service is absolutely horrible, and once they have your money, it feels like they could care less about actually helping you. I tried getting assistance with my concerns and was met with poor communication, no accountability, and a complete lack of concern.
This experience felt like a total rip-off. The way this company handles customers is misleading and extremely unprofessional. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering booking with them read everything carefully and think twice before giving them your money.
I personally would never book with this company again. Based on my experience, their business practices felt deceptive, and the level of customer service was unacceptable. Save yourself the frustration and book with a more reputable company that actually values its customers.

We planned all the stuff to take photos out there but it was too dark and our phones wouldn’t capture the glowing, so I recommend not even fussing with it and just go out and experience it and enjoy it!! It’s so cool- just incredible. My teen sons and I all loved it and there were times we just sat quietly in our boats enjoying the calm & the breeze. Totally worth it and great night!
This is part of what I wrote, “My main concerns were that: 1) I paid for my family to go on a 1.5 hour kayak; it was only about 42 minutes, so I definitely felt ripped off; other customers on the tour felt the same way. At one point before we started, we sat in a really hot bus for about 10 minutes, waiting 2) I came prepared with multiple clothing options, so I could change in my car before the tour, in case someone from your company at check in said a different clothing option was better. I asked at check in, if any clothing option was better (like regular street clothes vs a bathing suit), the person from your company said any clothing was fine. I therefore went in my street clothes, cotton shorts, cotton underwear, cotton shirt. Come to find out when we got to the canoes, that there weren’t elevated seats like regular canoes, and since we were the second group of the night, the insides of the canoes were wet with a decent amount of water sloshing around, so for 42 minutes, I sat in my cotton clothes and underwear wet, so it wasn’t the most comfortable. If I would have known, especially after asking at check in that night, I would have, and had my family wear swimsuits. 3) I booked this tour weeks in advance, it didn’t say anything about having to share a canoe with a stranger if our family was an odd number. At the tour, We were told that there weren’t enough canoes for the family member to go on their own, so they had to go with a stranger, and that stranger didn’t want to explore much in the canoe, so that family member was disappointed and said it was a boring. Booking that far in advance, I would have hoped that the correct amount of canoes would have been available to account for the situation. 4) I specifically bought my family members water shoes, for this kayak. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that we were weren’t even allowed to wear shoes in the canoe, and therefore I wouldnt have wasted the money or space in our luggage to bring them”
Such a cool experience!! Completely worth every minute!! Everybody is so nice & funny!! This is a trip of a lifetime!
An unbelievable experience. Don't worry about bringing water shoes as you leave them at the meeting point. Also expect for your pants or shorts to get a little wet as the kayak tends to be a little wet. It's all worth it as you get to see a world wonder. Shout-out to Javier the best guía pirata.
Everything was absolutely amazing. From start to finish, it was seamless and fun. Luis was our tour guide and was amazing! This was also my first time kayaking and I felt confident even in the dark. Gracias a todos para un recorrido maravilloso!!!!

You only paddle for about 30min-free time which then we couldn’t actually go far enough to “explore”
It was supposed to be a 90min adventure.
I had a very disappointing experience with Viator. The excursion confirmation did not provide clear enough instructions about the meeting location, which caused us to miss our excursion entirely.
As visitors who are not familiar with Puerto Rico, we had no way of knowing that the meeting point was on an island that required taking a ferry in advance. This is critical information that should have been clearly highlighted in the confirmation email and booking details, not left for customers to figure out on their own.
When travelers book excursions in an unfamiliar destination, they rely on the booking instructions to be complete and unambiguous. A simple statement that the meeting point is on an island accessible only by ferry, along with the ferry schedule and recommended arrival time, would have prevented this situation.
Because of the lack of clear instructions, we missed our excursion and lost valuable vacation time. I hope Viator improves its booking confirmations so future travelers don’t have the same frustrating experience.
We had an amazing experience on this bioluminescent tour! Everything was very well organized, and the staff was friendly and attentive to the guests. Javier did a great job explaining everything before we started. Our guides, Ray and Iván, were fantastic. They were knowledgeable and explained everything in both English and Spanish. They shared interesting facts about the bioluminescent bay and the importance of protecting this incredible natural environment. I highly recommend this tour. It was an great experience and one of the highlights of our trip!

Clear kayaks is the way to go! You can see the tiny plankton underneath as your husband rows :D. There is so much to enjoy! Time goes by so fast!!
This was truly the highlight of our trip to PR. It was the most unique and beautiful experience. We felt safe with our guides and the water was magical. Luiz was our main guide and he was terrific. He was funny, informational and you can see that he truly loves what he does. The entire process worked like a well-oiled machine. They were so organized and on time. It was perfect! Thank you for the unforgettable experience.
What an AMAZING experience!!! The Bio Bay Tour was simply an extraordinary experience for our family and friends. From check in to the whole touring , and all in between, was great. Highly recommended with this company. Javier made our experience excellent!
Beautiful, WORTH IT, great fun, and a little gross. 10 out 10 for stars, clear canoes and experiencing the bio-bay. You need a cab to get there from the pier (other side of the island). Customer service was responsive for questions. English or Spanish option for tour guides, and they made it fun showing/explaining the constellations. Water was so warm and a truly cool experience with the bioluminescence- better than any other bay I’ve been to. The gross part: it had rained, we had to be barefoot to wade through funky, mirky, leafy water before getting into the canoes - everything the internet told me not to do. BUT it was all amazing and we had a great birthday in the bay for my tween
This was my second time kayaking the bio bay in Vieques but my first time with clear bottom kayaks and it is TOTALLY WORTH IT! Incredibly bright bioluminescence, and being able to look through the kayak was amazing. It was like we were sailing through the stars. 100% recommend, especially this tour company.

We didn’t see any glowing things during the tour, which was disappointing because that was the main reason we booked. The experience was still organized well, but it did not deliver the highlight advertised on the site.
It was a beautiful experience with an added legend and history lesson! Beautiful skies and a quick Astronomy lesson- Gorgeous and once in a lifetime❤️
Amazing! You have to see it to believe it. I couldn’t get pictures to capture it but the water really does light up like in the pictures. We went as close to a new moon as possible to optimize the experience, our time slot was the 22:30 option.
Luis was our guide. He was funny and welcoming, even took the time to go over constellations in the sky. He and his team were efficient and helpful. We will definitely try to come back again!
The bioluminescence was so bright and gorgeous. Our guide Javier was wonderful. We were a group of 3 and he took our third person with him on his canoe. He was a complete sweetheart with her and was just an all around great guide. Even took pictures for us. Highly recommend!
Javier was the best tour guide ever! First and foremost he was very clear and gave us a lot of information about the bio bay. He helped us understand why is it so important to take care of that bio bay due to the microorganisms that make the bio bay glow up. He was amazing, attentive, patient and made sure if we had any questions they were answered. He took pictures of us and sent them right away. I want to come back just because I had such an amazing experience. When I come back to PR I’ll def will be doing this activity with them and will ask for Javier to be our tour guide.
¡Javier fue el mejor guía turístico! Para empezar, fue muy claro y nos dio muchísima información sobre la bahía bioluminiscente. Nos ayudó a entender por qué es tan importante cuidarla debido a los microorganismos que la hacen brillar. Javier fue increíble, atento, paciente y se aseguró de que todas nuestras preguntas fueran respondidas. Nos tomó fotos y nos las envió enseguida. Quiero volver solo porque tuve una experiencia maravillosa. Cuando regrese a Puerto Rico, sin duda haré esta actividad con ellos y pediré que Javier sea nuestro guía.
Awesome experience just remember to lean back against the poles or your back will be hurting.i realized the pole was thier hafe way across the bay.
