Wow! What an amazing experience! I would recommend our guides. They were on time, safe, informational and provide a once and a lifetime experience of us. We went during a new moon and the bioluminescence’s gave us a show. There were so many stars too! We went with our family of kids ages 20-11. We did not have clear kayaks though :(

Amazing! We went close to a full moon but the kids still loved it! Easy kayaking! 9-16 year olds loved it!

Beware of requirements far in advance.

There was no experience. You must book travel well in advance. I communicated with the tour guide and was told since travel to the experience could not be arranged I would receive a refund. The refund was not received and the tour guide stopped responding to my texts.

Magical

Katie_B, Feb 2026
This is such a unique magical experience! We came with our family, including our four children under the age of 13. The guide was so good with all of our kids. He was extremely patient and answering all of their questions and keeping things fun and interesting.

Waste of time and money

Padmaja_T, Jan 2026
Really bad experience. Please don’t book this tour! We went on most bumpy ride of our life, walked through stinking mud with barefoot and ended up seeing nothing.

An experience

Audrey_R, Jan 2026
Slow, but your guides worked hard. Even though there was a full moon we were able see the bioluminescent bay!

Matt_L, Dec 2025
The pick up was 45 min late and at the end we had to go back to house and sit in the van while the staff cleaned the equipment opposed to dropping us off first. Spots of the water were great but it was very spotty. The person leading the tour was polite and informational.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thanks Matt!

Varsha_H, Dec 2025
There was no bioluminisce and it was not all because the moon was out. Waste of money and time. Felt a total.scam.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Hello Varsha, it was bioluminiscense , but as we advised when moon is full or near to full, sky bright.

Great experience

RaghavPavan_K, Dec 2025
The tour guide dilon was very friendly..we were not expert kayakers and were worried kayaking in the dark but he was super helpful and stayed close to us and made sure we did it right. He explained about the phenomenon and why it happens at the center. They pickedd us up on time and dropped us back on time. The tour lasted for.abput an hour and was worth it.

Great destination and activity with subpar service

Josue_L, Jun 2025
The bio Bay was magical and enchanting. Totally worth the money and the time. The company did not live up to our expectations in service. The bus they used to get you from the meeting point to the Bay has no AC or windows. The chairs are pretty beat up and with no interior lights, which can be complicated with little kids. The road to the Bay can be a little rough for some, but can be exciting for the kids, since you are riding through mud for 5 to 10 minutes. Yo the to the water, you have to walk through deep mud while barefoot. This could be too much for some. But if you'd made it this far, you get to enjoy paradise, specially if you can go on a night without a full moon.

Ivan_F, May 2025
You get what you paid for and that’s unfortunately true. The tour guy was knowledgeable the review is for everything else that was not what I excepted.

This was a great...

Kim_S, Apr 2025
This was a great experience, very educational. We went during the full moon, so it wasn’t as bright as usual, but the guide put a tarp over us to give it a better glow. He was very entertaining and shared great knowledge of the area.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Thanks a lot for visiting Vieques!

Beautiful but tour company was not the best.

Susan_L, Apr 2025
The people are very nice, and the tour guide was knowledgeable, but the tour was short. They also do not give you clear kayaks, and they do not bring you back to the ferry. You also have to walk through very smelly mud to get to the kayaks. I would recommend that they put down some wood where that mud is so that people have a decent place to walk.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

THanks a lot for your visit ! Vieques! No we do not provide transportation to the ferry , is said on the add.

Best Bio bay tours

Sridevi_J, Mar 2025
I expected more from this tour by looking at the pictures. I saw bioluminescent but not as much as they showed in the pictures. My friend and I were drifted away by the currents and had a hard time getting back to the group. The instructor was not very helpful. They didn’t even take a single picture for us

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Thanks a lot for your visit ! thanks

Amazing experience

Mercy_O, Mar 2025
We stayed in Vieques and this was by far the best experience. From the friendly to the knowledgeable and fun guide our family really enjoyed our tour. The bioluminescence was bright and we were able to get good pictures and videos. I highly recommend that tour. Be sure to buy your ferry or plane tickets ahead of time and it's by far easier to stay on the island for the night.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Thanks thanks thanks

Wise woman paddlers!

Janice_R, Feb 2025
Deon was a fabulous guide and so informative and knowledgeable about the Bio luminous! I appreciate his passion for protecting this natural environment. We enjoyed the small group. However, as older ladies it was hard for us to walk barefoot from the parking lot to the bay- especially with no illumination. Also we would have enjoyed more time in the kayak paddling around- the tour was too short.

Adventure in the mud

Dalila_P, Feb 2025
The tour started one hour late. Not too happy about that. Driver was nice and friendly. We thought that we were lost because there was nobody waiting for us. Company van didn’t have a name on it like the other tour companies. It seemed like a cheap tour. The driver took us to our place for an extra pay. I wouldnt do it with Viator again. Do it through another company.

Response from Host, Feb 2025

THanks a lot! thanks for visiting Vieques!

Instructors were amazing!...

Imani_R, Feb 2025
Instructors were amazing! The experience was so amazing! The reviews give a false representation of the experience. The pick up location was easy, the road was not that bumpy and the instructor was incredibly safe. If you don’t know how to kayak, don’t try to learn at night, this is not for you. If you have kayaked before this is a breeze. So much fun! Highly recommend and buy your instructors a drink after:)

More talking in the water...

Kaitlyn_N, Feb 2025
More talking in the water than kayaking, tour guide was very nice but i’d probably skip this one and go with a clear bottom boat tour. Wasn’t spectacular honestly

Great experience but terrible guide

Christopher_S, Feb 2025
The Good: left early, small group, amazing experience The Bad: tour guide was drinking in the van and was smoking week on kayak, which fine when not guiding people on a dark bay. He also was pulling out his phone which compromised our eyes due to the light.

Tiffany_F, Jan 2025
The most amazing experience. A must do! our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and kind. They even drove us back to the ferry terminal after the tour was over.

A paddle under the stars

Sybil_H, Jan 2025
SUPER rough roads driving to the bay. The night sky was amazing and every bit as impressive as the water itself. It was fun to see and a very easy paddle. I would’ve been happy to stay out under the stars longer.

Don’t go if this is the only company available

Susan_B, Jan 2025
Would not recommend to anyone. Guide was very unorganized, no instructions, felt very unsafe, honestly thought they would have left without making sure they had everyone. No safety measures were taken, in the middle of an ocean bay, if would not have been paying attention could have easily gotten separated from the group. I’d give zero stars if I could.

Response from Host, Jan 2025

Sorry for your experience.

Bio tour

Michael_M, Jan 2025
It was awesome and the bioluminescent plankton were magical. Great experience all around. Stars were beautiful too.

Rushed experience and bit disappointing for my family

Dennis_R, Jan 2025
I have done 4 different bio tours over last decade with various family and friends to introduce them to this wonderful experience for their first times with 3 different operators. Which had no issues prior. However this operator was overbooked at pickup by at least 10 people and 2nd van had to be called back which resulted in 30 min delay to experience. Tour guide was very nice and informative but rushed as he had another tour right after ours and did. So we were out on water for only 15 min and did not even check out mangroves

Response from Host, Jan 2025

THanks a lot for doing biobay in Vieques.

Make sure you have service incase of changing itinerary!

Mason_W, Jan 2025
The tour time was moved due to moonlight and we didn't have service so we showed up to our reservation on time but no one was coming for us. Luckily we got service and talked to the tour guide and they initiated a refund.

The staff was friendly, they were a slightly late, but they were really nice. The experience is wonderful. It's absolutely beautiful, the kayak tour guide was very knowledgeable.
