    I had a great experience. The trip was a unique and magical experience. Kind Kadek drove me around in a jeep and took photos of me, and wonderful Mel picked me up from my hotel and drove me back from the mountain base. Thank you!

    Agus was super friendly and super nice. We loved the sunrise at Mount Batur. Weather was nice chilly so helped offset the heat of city. The hot water spring was okay - very crowded but the sunrise made up for it

    A bright and early, amazing experience, that was seamless and beautiful. Our tour operator driver Wijayan was timely and friendly with excellent communication picking us up from our hotel in Ubud. He went over and above, adding hot springs for us and gave a great suggestion to visit the coffee plantation too - which was is a must thing to add on for coffee lovers. Dira was our jeep driver, the only woman driver on the day, and she was excellent, smooth, energetic and helpful. gave us plenty of time and followed our special asks for photos.

    Did not enjoy my time with Mel, the guide who drove the jeep, or overall. Paid for a waterfall visited but skipped that to end things sooner. Wish I would have pursued another way to experience Mount Batur.

    Had a lovely morning visiting Mt Batur for sunrise. Everything ran smoothly, pick up and drop off were great. Mel the driver was lovely and Kadek who took us up the mountain was very knowledgeable and gave us so much information. The view from the top was stunning. Fantastic day!

    As a Viator regular who has usually had good experiences via the platform, this particular one was surprising. We had picked the Mt Batur+ Lava Fields+ ATV option It was disappointing the least the say, and specially so as it came on a trip with family. Inconsistent communication, questionable planning and poor behavior were the key issues. We picked this tour as it involved a 4WD to Batur and optional walking/hiking(suitable for our group of 4 that included 2 seniors). However, the default start time of this tour is 3:00 AM which was too challenging for the older ones. So I called up the viator helpline. They were helpful, got in touch with the tour operator and got me a start time of 9 AM as requested. I also received confirmation that the meal inclusion had been changed from breakfast to lunch. So far, so good. Our shuttle driver arrived on time and told us to be quick as we had a lot to get through in the day. So far again appreciable. We got to the lava fields and Mt Batur(safely otherwise, but in what seemed dodgier than the other 4WDs touring at the time) We shared our concern with the 4WD driver. He was polite, but sidestepped the conversation. Trouble started once we got back from Mt Batur at 2:40 PM and started to head towards the ATV area(supposedly) That's when we were told that ATV closes at 3:30 PM and there was no way we could make it. We were told that since we had taken too much time in Batur, this portion now had to be skipped. What does not add up is that the ATV timing was absolutely never conveyed to us, not by anyone and not till this point . Additionally we had been encouraged by our 4WD driver to spend more time in the Batur area(dirt bike up/walk to where we could) without any mention whatsoever that this could jeopardise the rest of our activities. We wanted to keep our vacation pleasant so we took the news with a pinch of salt, and asked our driver to simply take us to lunch. This is when we were told that the lunch had somehow been tied up with the ATV experience so we'd have to let that go as well. This was the last straw. It's one thing to miss out on an experience. Quite another when seniors in a group are inconvenienced due to poor planning around a meal. Our shuttle driver connected us over phone with his boss. The conversation with this boss was probably the lowest point of an experience that had already been going south. Not just was this gentleman exceptionally average in his demeanor and communication, his best solution was to offer us a refund of $10. Yes you read that right- $10 to compensate for lunch as the combined refund for a group of 4. I wonder if this operator did not understand that someone who has paid over $500 for a tour can probably afford lunch. And I shudder to think of the royal meal they were planning to feed us at the princely sum of $2.50 per head I still don't know if our tour operator was the one with great reviews listed on this activity(Bali Seminayak Driver-DayTours) or a different one. If it was the same operator I no longer know what to make of this 'badge of excellence'. If it wasn't , I wonder if we were linked up by Viator with a less experienced one for some reason I've done over 20 tours with Viator over the past few years. Before this one, there had been only 1 experience which I'd call out as less than ideal But this is the 2nd, and in relatively quick succession As a customer I don't know if I'll risk a 3rd or not, but right now, the disappointment is fresh .

    There are a few Day Trips in Bali that are unmissable, and this is one of them. The whole experience is designed with vacationers in mind - availability of jackets and blankets for those ill prepared, expert level photographers for the gram, vantage points on Mount Batur and Lava fields for the best Vistas. Let's get the most important fact out of the way first - the Sunrise is surreal and worth the early rise and the 1 hour wait in the cold. We had Hot Springs and Coffee Plantation tour as part of the package - enjoyed both and bought some gifts to carry back. I would like to give a special shout-out to our Drivers/ Guides in the Trip - specifically Melta, who braved a red-eye midnight pickup for us and kept the conversation flowing at all times. These are really hard working honest people building the future of Tourism in Bali.

    Loved this trip. The sunrise is absolutely beautiful. You only go about half way but that’s as high as you need to be to see the view (those who hiked up actually missed the sunrise because of the cloud cover at the top). The lava fields are very interesting but not too much to actually see. We added on the hot spring which looks beautiful. Does get a little crowded and quite a few annoying flies but still worth going to. Both guide (forgot name oops) / driver (eri) were excellent, very friendly and explained anything we asked. Would recommend.

    Amazing experience our guide Eddy was very nice and took good picture of us. He even brought us to a secret spot where we had better view of the sunrise and gave us a lot of information about the volcano. I definitely recommend this tour.

    Long drive but worth it to see that amazing view of the sunrise and mist over the mountain. The lava stone area is also a awesome experience. Excellent driving by Mangku to the mountain base and in the jeep by Putra to the mountain top.

    AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! Our driver Jo was so funny and sweet and took all of our amazing photos at Mount Butar!! Everything was so great! The Sunrise, the volcano, natural hot spring and coffee plantation! Such a great day with memories to cherish forever! Our private driver Mudi and his partner were so helpful and kind!

    Kadek are very good driver. Soft spoken and respectful. Know alot of history of Mount Batur and tell me alot of the Mount Batur. Should take him and highly recomendation. Thumbs up mate.

    Definitely worth it! A very early start but brilliant communication with the company throughout and everything went smoothly. The sunrise was incredible and afterwards we went to the lava field which was really interesting.

    Nnotre chauffeur du jeep était très sympathique. Rien à redire non plus de l’organisation, au top ! Par contre, nous avons été un peu déçu de l’excursion : beaucoup trop de jeep (montée du mont Batur en file indienne), arrêt au milieu du mont Batur assez loin du sommet. Nous avons tout de même profité d’un beau levé de soleil et pris de très belles photos. L’idéal serait un mixte entre une partie en jeep (en partant un peu plus tôt que les autres jeep) et une partie à pieds pour rejoindre le sommet. En tout cas, si vous souhaitez faire cette excursion en Jeep, nous vous conseillons vivement ce prestataire.

    Ne gaspille pas votre argent . Franchement c’est super beau pour voir le coucher du soleil mais déjà vous êtes pas vraiment au sommet du mont Batur c’est mieux de faire le trekking les gens montent plus haut et vous attendez presque 2 heure dans le froid et vous repartez dans la foulée je trouve ça vraiment dommage quoi. Puis j’étais seule je me suis pas vraiment senti à l’aise j’avais l’impression qu’on ce foutez de ma geule avec les guides locaux
