Overview

Watching the sunrise from the crater rim of an active volcano, Mt. Batur, is a highlight of any visit to Bali. Travel to Songan, a village close to the base of the trail, to start this hike. Good trek but No Sunrise viewing

Just the trek, and the pick up from the hotel. It was professionally done however the weather didnt help because we couldnt see the sunrise once we completed our trek.

Great and fuss free tour

Easy to arrange with and our tour guide was on time during the pickup. We were staying in Ubud center so the pickup time was 2.30am. After an hour drive, we were brought to a nice hut to have our last toilet visit before the climb. They offered lots of bottles of water for us. The climb was one of the easier ones for us (we exercise 1/2 times a week, climb once a year), but the going down part took a toll on our knees. Ample stop breaks while climbing upwards to admire the view and recover. Our guide managed to find us a good view spot when we were at the top. Breakfast consists of banana toast, egg, banana will be provided once you're at the top. We also opted for the hotspring which was a great idea after the streneous climb. Tips: Better to standby 15mins before pick up time just in case they are early. Wear grippy hiking shoes for maximum comfort. Bring an extra sweater as it will be cold at the top. When going down, try to walk zig zag or sideways to help minimise the knees impact.

The Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking tour was breathtaking and sublime. The entire tour was seamless with no worries or stress. Mr. Ngruh, the tour guide/driver, was professional, caring, attentive and friendly. He made sure that I was getting the best experience ever and took great care escorting me to the entrances and explained where he would be waiting. Not easy but very fun hike

We had the best time with our guide! This hike is definitely not easy by any means but we enjoyed it very much. We didn’t get views at the top due to intense fog on our day but still had a great time either way. No one can control the weather!
