Ring the bell in the gate and I´ll come and get you. This experience takes place at our tasting room in Zona Nove building in La Veleta neighborhood in Tulum Town. Conveniently located and close to many restaurants, boutiques and bars; you can get here by foot, bike, car or taxi.

Learned more about mezcal than any other tasting experience I have had. Learned to appreciate the effort that goes into artisanal mezcal. I won’t go back to industrial😀 Shamira was friendly and knowledgeable and very sincere in her love of mezcal and chocolates.

Expert tasting, with amazing mezcales and their chocolate pairings. Shamira was excellent and extremely knowledgeable. She quickly gauges each group’s specific interests and adjusts her explanations accordingly. Speaks faultless English. You will learn so much from Shamira and leave as friends. Extra shoutout for the FANTASTIC local recommendations she gave us - the breakfast tacos were life-changing.

This was an absolutely fantastic experience. We learned so much about the Mexican culture, the care that it takes to make Mezcal and of course tasted some delicious Mezcal and chocolate (as promised). Shamira is absolutely delightful. She was throughly engaging and did a great job showing the entire process of mezcal and chocolate creation from plant harvesting to getting it on shelves. She also guided me through tasting 5 different mezcals and just as many types of chocolate in a way that made it easier to notice all of the subtle differences between each product. I would definitely recommend doing this while you're in Tulum.

Shamira was an excellent host. The mezcal paired with the chocolate was a first for me. I loved the history of where it is produced, how it is produced, and the different kinds with the different flavor profiles.
I even tried grasshoppers with the mezcal! I've never eaten grasshoppers and have always said I never would but I tried it and it was surprisingly tasty! It had a garlicky, sort of spicy taste to it that paired well with the mezcal we had. I had 2 aof nd that was my limit LOL.
Shamira gave us the inside scoop to tell what percentage is authentic mezcal and I am now bougie about what I buy if I get any from the States.
I purchased one of the bottles which made me have to check a bag but totally worth it. I would very much come back and try them again and get a wonderful history lesson as well.

Super informative. Patio are was beautifully decorated and secure. After starting with a cocktail we tasted 5 or so different mezcals as the host shared the history of the plant and drink. Each tasting paired with a chocolate. Would recommend

The mezcal tasting was probably one of our favorite experiences in Tulum. Shamira makes sure the scene is intimate and welcoming. Had such a great time that we forgot to take photos.
Shamira was super knowledgeable about the mezcal and the pairings were perfect. 10/10 experience! Would definitely recommend.

We definitely recommend this experience! We went as 3 couples with my husband's son and his wife and her parents. It was so fascinating and knowledgeable, as well as delicious. The hostess Shamira was so kind and welcoming, and really had firsthand, local insight. Her terrace were the event was held is so charming and she went above and beyond making us feel at home. One of our party does not drink alcohol and Shamira provided him with some of her own organic coffee and fresh juices. He still had such a great time because part of experiencing the Mezcal is also the smell which we all got to enjoy in an unexpected way with Shamira's guidance. If you like chocolate and you like Mezcal or are curious about it, I would definitely recommend enjoying this tasting when in Tulum.

Excellent host who knows her stuff. She’s a fountain of information and encourages all kinds of extremely unique pairing options. I’ve been to many “wine and cheese” pairings but imagine pairing citrus with grasshopper salt with your mezcal! Really surprising!!

Book this great experience, you won’t regret it! You won’t even be particularly hungover, despite drinking plenty of Mezcal.
Shamira is a knowledgeable and friendly host. She was eager to share her knowledge of Mezcal and of Mexican chocolate, and she made the effort to connect with us on a personal level.
Do be aware going in that this experience takes place at the hosts house, in a residential part of Tulum town (as of Jan 2024). Don’t be alarmed! Shamira has made her outdoor patio into a beautiful oasis (seriously, we took decor notes to bring home), and you are in good hands for this experience.
We can’t recommend this experience enough. If you’re curious about Mezcal but know next to nothing about it like we did, make sure to book the Mezcal & Chocolate Tasting with Shamira.
