My wife and I have experienced many guided tours over the years, and I can confidently say that the personalized tour Matt provided was truly exceptional.
If you are looking to explore Sydney beyond the typical tourist spots, Matt is the perfect guide. His deep local knowledge and passion for the area made for a unique and memorable experience. From sampling native flora and learning about local trees, to an up-close koala and kangaroo encounter, stunning beach locations, and even witnessing trees filled with bats, every part of the tour was thoughtfully curated. The mid-day had a fantastic meal by the beach.

It seems like it will be a long day by the schedule, but the time flies by so fast because it is so amazing and you are having so much fun! Matt, our Tour Guide and Wildlife Whisperer was simply the best. He took us to many places of beauty- nature strolls in the bush, scenic river overlooks, beach/ocean vistas, bar “hang-outs”, and then wildlife sanctuary was one of the most thrilling experiences you could ever have if you even remotely love the koala, kangaroo, emu, wallaby, pademelon, exotic birds, and more. To actually get so close to all of these animals was an experience you’ll never forget. Matt told us many stories and talked about the history of the region, was a great driver, and a fun fellow to spend the day with. We could not recommend this trip more highly to anyone with the time to do it.

The day trip that we took with Matt was the best day of our month long trip! Matt picked us up at our hotel on time and within the first couple of minutes we knew it was going to be a great day! We spent the day doing all the things we love. We got to pet a Koala and Kangaroo. Feed Cockatoos and so much more. He took us to a quiet beach restaurant for lunch and we even got to go to a beautiful winery! We had the best day with Matt!

We had the most spectacular day ever with Matt!! We travel the world extensively, and Matt literally gave us the best experience we’ve ever had on a tour! We will most definitely be back again, and tell EVERYONE they need to book this tour!!! There is nothing worse than being herded like cattle on a tour, hurry to use the restroom, hurry to buy souvenirs… rush rush rush because they’ll leave without you… there was NONE of that with Matt!! This was VIP treatment all the way!!
We had the most incredible experience with koalas, kangaroos, and all the animals you expect in an Australian tour. I definitely recommend listening to Matt if you want to see the animals!! He knows the best places to go!! We had the most incredible Australian experience in the bush, with the animals, on the beaches and at the parks…. There is no possible way Matt could have made our day any better!!! It was absolutely perfect!! We got to do SO many incredible things that we will never forget!!

He was our guide who made this adventure sooooo memorable. He customized our day to our abilities and interests. He was candid and down to earth. Private tours are more pricey BUT you get SO MUCH MORE. You go at your own pace. We had 1 full day to tour around Sydney and I believe we got the best sights, information, culture, and then some.

I loved the day with you both, especially the part where I got to throw you into the pit with the meerkats and casually take photos while you were laughing, slightly confused pulling mealworms out of your hair, and having the time of your lives. Pure gold. You were both an absolute joy to photograph all day, no coaching required, just real moments and big smiles.
You’re spot on too, private tours cost more, but you get freedom, flexibility, and a day built around you, plus a guide who happily sacrifices his dignity for a great photo.

Matt is a wonderful guide. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the area. Since it was a private tour, Matt was very willing to tailor it to our interests. Seeing koalas and kangaroos was amazing. We also had a special surprise at the end which was amazing. We saw beautiful sites and learned so much about the nature, wildlife, and culture of the area. Am AMAZING tour today with Matt. We love animals, plants, birds and culture and this tour was perfect for us. We had a flexible day and saw koalas, bats, emu, meerkats, kangaroos and many more. The lunch spot Matt picked out was perfect as we are vegan and John is celiac so we appreciated him finding a great spot. So many hidden gems each step of the way. His driving was superb and his friendly attitude just meshed with us. At the end of the night we felt like we met a new friend and would have had a great new buddy if we lived closer.

Honestly if you only have a few days in Sydney, this is really an ideal excursion. Our friends thought we had spent a week taking the pictures we took in one day. Matt is an expert of his region and he will take you to the most fun places. If you love animals like us you’ll get the closest encounter possible ( petting !) with koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, opposing, sugar gliders, llamas etc. we absolutely loved our experience.

Matt took us all around Sydney - we definitely wouldn’t have seen most of where he took us. The visit to the Nature Wildlife Sanctuary (I might have the name wrong) was very special. We saw many animals - and got to pet the koala and the kangaroos!!

Incredible day with our guide, Matt, who as a life long Australian, gave us an authentic taste of Australia. We went into the bush, met koalas, spiders, emu, and lots of kangaroos up close.
We hiked trails to see bats. We went to several beaches. We ate at a lovely seaside restaurant where the shrimp tempura was perfect. Definitely a great tour to see wildlife and wild Australia in a day. Highly recommend! Thanks Matt!

This is possibly the best tour we have ever been on! Matt made it feel like a close friend was showing us around the outer areas of Sydney that only locals know about (and even many of those may not know these places). This trip was a full day. Matt, our guide was fantastic. He took photos of our adventure and shared them at the end. He was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We enjoyed our personal experience with Arthur the Koala and hanging with the kangaroos, emus, wallabies and all kinds of exotic birds at the wild life sanctuary. We had lunch at Avoca Beach, went to the bush where he grew up. I would highly recommend this adventure.

Had an awesome time exploring Sydney with Matt! He was super friendly, really accommodating, and took us to some amazing spots we’d never have found on our own. On top of that, he took some great photos of us, which was such a nice touch. His local knowledge made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun and personalized tour! He also gave us a great recommendation for a historical food stop.

Matt has taken what he is passionate about and turned it into a career in which he is an unmatched talent. He tailors every personalized trip to the clients he oversees. He’s informative, funny, and sociable. We laughed, talked, learned and enjoyed every second with Matt. This experience was unrivaled to any tour I’ve been on anywhere in the world and would recommend Matt as a tour guide for any person visiting Sydney that wants to see EVERYTHING it has to offer.
As an aside, he does offer a tour with horse riding at a local campground. We threw him a wrench very early by not telling him we wanted to make that a part of our day, but he accommodated within 5 minutes. Enjoyable for riders and first timers alike.

The tour explored an extensive variety of local and unique experiences from a born and raised Australian!! Little details, like stopping to see dogs playing in a dog park or viewing lots (and lots) of bats in nearby trees, made all the difference. Extremely knowledgeable on all things bush, sea and animals. You must do this tour over well others. It was a highlight of our trip from the US.

The One Day Private with Matt was perfect. The sights, the animals, the history, the pictures, the interaction, the laughter, and the genuine fun had between my wife, I, and Matt was a highlight of the our trip. The stop at the Australian Walkabout Wildlife Park was extremely memorable and the information provided will be remembered for a long time. The other highlight was an impromptu stop to see the flying foxes prior to dusk, simply amazing.

We have to say, this was one of the best tours we have ever taken - yes it was that good !!
Matt was our tour guide. His enthusiasm and knowledge of wildlife bubbled though all day and we learnt much about the Australian countryside around Sydney. Matt took us to several places, many of which we were the only people there. He started the tour with a brief visit to Sydney harbor so we could stop for sone iconic photos before we left the city and headed into the countryside.
Our first walk was though the Bush where Matt taught us the names of several plants and trees and explained their significance in terms of the how the indigenous Aboriginal people used the flora for medicinal and eating purposes.
Matt’s knowledge of the area meant that we took in many amazing sites from various vantage viewing locations.
Our second main stop was at the Walkabout Wildlife Park where we had an amazing encounter with a Koala (named Arnold) who was the most alert Koala we have met. We also walked amongst several different types of Kangaroos and Wallabies, and Emu’s and we were able to interact with the animals as they were fed. Our interaction with animals at this park was the best that we have encountered during our two week vacation in Australia.
Finally we spent time at a couple of beach areas in investigating the geology, flora and fauna.
If you have an interest in learning about the wildlife, trees and plants of this part of the world and you are seeking an authentic Aussie experience then Matt is your man. He also took some amazing photos of us during the day and sent them to us after the tour.
