We will meet you at the dock, you have 1/2 hour after your ship disembarks passengers to find your driver/guide. Your driver/guide will be wearing a Red shirt and jacket and holding our company sign. When booking please indicate which ship you are sailing on. We require at least 4 bookings to provide a tour.

Great tour with Francine. She gave us lots of information and plenty of time at each stop.all the places we visited is exactly what we wanted to see. This was our second time in Dydney and the town at the port doesn’t have much to offer. We really wanted to see more.

Ron is a driver not a tour guide. We got on the Louisbourg walking tour operated by the park. Cutomers must understand that Ron is not giving tours of the fort.

A great trip for anyone visiting Sydney

Rob was great. Collected us straight from the port in an 8 seater bus and drove us straight to the fort he even managed to drop us right by the entrance to allow us optimum time at the fort. We arrived in time to be able to book an additional guided tour around the fort which finished in time for us to watch the midday canon fire. In all we had around 3 hours at the fort but Rob was highly flexible on how long we were able to spend there. On the way back to the port we stopped at the lighthouse to get photos and Rob even offered to take a group shot for us. We then continued with the guided tour and were dropped back at the port with time to spare before our ship left.

Last minute cancellation

We are unable to review this tour was cancelled the day before we were to take it. We were disappointed but understood that things happen. We were given option to get full refund or we could accept a different tour that he named so we agreed with that.

Great Day Exploring Fort Louisbourg

We enjoyed our day and Bob was an excellent guide. The Fortress of Louisbourg was interesting. One of our favorite parts was getting out to the lighthouse. There were only a few other people there so it was a great sight to take pictures and enjoy the views of the Harbor.

The tour operator cancelled our tour because not enough people signed up to make it worthwhile for them. Fortunately I found another tour to go on. I have still not received a credit from the operator. I have also contacted Viator and havent heard back from them regarding a refund. Will have to file a claim with my credit card company.

Hello Murray, it is up to Viator to refund you, not me, I was not paid for your cancelled tour. I'm sorry for your inconvenience but I do require at least 4 bookings to operate a tour. I did offer you an alternate tour but you decided to take the refund instead. Not sure what you're complaining about here !

Our tour guide/driver Gaston was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. He provided local insight as well as factual information; answering our questions as a retired educator can. The lunch recommendation was spot on! Especially the seafood chowder was wonderful and yummy 😋. Blackwood Tours is to be commended for a job well done!

The Fortress of Louisbourg and lighthouse were amazing. Our guide provided great insight into the history and local history. The walking tour of the fortress (not included in the tour) was well worth the time and minimal cost. They provided additional insight into the fortress and that time in history. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you are a student of or love history.

We had good self guided visit of the fort. Arriving in time to hook up with a guided tour would have made this excursion superb. We missed it by 5 minutes. Thank you Robert for advance communications and coordination. Thank you Geoff for the detailed city tour.

We loved this tour! Was so nice to get into a mini van with one other couple. Rather than a big bus full of people from the cruise. Gaston was an excellent tour guide. He made sure we saw everything we wanted, didn't make the tour feel rushed, and got us back to the ship without any stress. Would recommend!

Our tour guides were wonderful: Gastone & Marsal were very knowledgeable and made the trip fun. I've never been a history buff but they made it interesting.
