My friends and I decided to check out the local good in Sweden. Our guide, Faizel, was very knowledgeable about not only local good but we also got interesting insight into Sweden as well as the countries history of conservation, architecture and governance. We especially liked the stop at Kajsas Fisk, so much so that we returned another day. Similarly, our final stop for fika at Fika & Wine in Gamla Stan added another place to re-visit. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in food but also Stockholm in general!

The tour was ok. The food was ok. The guide was ok. Not as good as others I have been on. The walk was faster passed

At first I thought I lost something in translation, but nope. Our tour guide's name was Cotton. He was so personable and knowledgeable about the history of Stockholm and the food we ate. Although I do not eat seafood, I had a great time walking around and learning about the traditional food in Sweden. I was able to enjoy the meatballs and cinnamon bun.

We took very unique food tasting tour in Stockholm over the Christmas holiday. I tried foods that I never would have eaten on my own. Bear, moose, reindeer?! I actually like the bear! The tour was at a relaxed pace, but we covered several tasting stops. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend this tour.

Great tour that covered a lot of ground and included some delicious bites! Cotton was a great tour guide, both funny and extremely knowledgeable!

The food was excellent. I liked being showed an area outside of old town. I liked the explanations of the food and the history of the area. Thank you for the awesome experience.

A great tour. Learned a lot about Swedish food, culture and history. Cotton was a wonderful host of the city.

You get to taste the food the locals eat. We were able to taste many things and perhaps more licorice than we bargained for. We learned the history of many of the dishes we ate. The tour lasted 4 hours and we walked at least 3 miles.

The first stop was the most interesting. The fish market underground was ok, shame there wasn’t an outdoor place. Guide spent most of his time on his phone walking between locations, walking well ahead of the group he even walked into a post while in his phone! He was informative but he was distant, it felt like he didn’t want to be there even though he said he loved chatting to guests … he didn’t. I felt there could have been some more interesting spots to stop in this amazing city for the cost of the tour.

Quiva (Spelling?) was so great! Always smiling and very patient with everyone in our group. The food was good and she did such a good job of describing what we were enjoying, how it was made, why it's special, and a little history along the way.

Informative, fun gourmet experience with a fantastic knowledgeable guide. The food was so interesting and tasted very good.

Good food tour with interesting selections. Only negatives was the amount of walking and large size of group.

We love doing food tours around the world and Cotton did not disappoint. He took great care of us, knew lots and was happy to share. Wonderful.

A wonderful way to discover Stockholm through its flavors. Cotton was a fantastic guide - warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing Swedish food and culture. The pace was perfect, and I loved the mix of traditional tastes with local stories. Highly recommend if you want to experience the city in the most authentic (and delicious!) way.

This was an excellent tour! Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and informative about all things Sweden, especially the food and culture. His relationships with vendors allowed us to sample an excellent variety of dishes and we learned a lot about Swedish licorice! Going to two of the city's food halls was fascinating.
There is a lot of fast walking on this tour. I would not recommend it for someone with limited mobility or someone who could not walk a pretty good distance quickly.
We loved it!

Most of the food stops did not include seating. You had to stand while sampling the cultural food. We walked over two miles which would have been much more enjoyable if we could have sat at more of the locations. The food was good. The last stop had us walking at least 23 minutes through old town Stockholm……it was really a worn down area. Not very inviting. The Feka was good at the last stio. Our Guide Teresa was good but one of our tour guests monopolized her attention the entire tour. Made the rest of us feel left out.

This is a nice 3-hour to our of Central Stockholm and the old city. We started off at the largest food hall which was terrific where we were able to try 3 kinds of cheese, I nice portion of Swedish meatballs, and several cured meats including bear meat and reindeer along with a glass of beer. We then made our weight to another food hall where we had a wonderful multiple fish course with fish soup, cured salmon, and a few other small side dishes all of which were delicious. We then had a nice lecture on Swedish black licorice with the ability to sample multiple products, some of which were terrific and others were unpalatable to Americans, but delicious to Scandinavians. We finished with a lovely pastry and coffee. The guide was very knowledgeable and imparted a lot of historical information about foods in Sweden. Overall I thought the experience was very good and had good value. Plenty to eat.

We had our food tour in Stockholm with Cotton. He was excellent. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Cotton took us to 3 places where we sampled tradional Swedish food. We had cheeses, smoked game meats, jam, crackers, beer, fish, wine and cinnamon rolls. At each stop Cotton explained what we were eating and how it was prepared. The amount of food was enough to fill us up at the end if the tour. I highly recommend this tour.

I do not recommend this tour. I have taken multiple food tours in various international cities and I have booked with Viator with much success. This food tour was on the more expensive side so I had high expectations. The tour started with the guide asking if anyone had food allergies. A woman said she did and said she put that on the booking when she made her reservation. The guide said it sometimes does not come through. Well, at the first stop was only food the woman could not eat. She had to stand there and watch everyone else eat. The guide did nothing to try to fix it for this woman, who handled it with grace and dignity. (The guide did correct the food allergy issue for one of the later stops.) At around our third stop the guide said we had time to use the restroom. Five of us went and three came back quickly. The guide then started walking, going up an escalator to another part of the food hall, without the two remaining women. We called out to her to stop but she just kept going. A nice man from Australia said he would go back downstairs and find them. The guide seemed very unconcerned. The next stop was a candy store. We tried licorice and peppermint. Then the guide gave us something that was so horribly disgusting that everyone spit it out. It was some kind of licorice with heavy lead tasting salt. People felt bad about spitting it out but it was just horrible. Why would you give visitors to your country something so bad that no one could eat it? Then we went to a meat counter. The meat was good and interesting. However, it was placed on a platter in such a way that it was very difficult to get off the platter without using your fingers, which were in your mouth from the last food station. Not very sanitary, but everyone tried their best. We continued with much walking which was fine, but the guide never turned around to make sure her group was still with her. The sidewalks were crowded and it was difficult to keep up with her. The final stop was a restaurant where we were supposed to get something like a cinnamon bun, but when we got there, the restaurant had sold all of that so we got a substitute. I would have thought that this was preordered and should have been waiting for us, but everyone was OK with the substitute. We loved Stockholm and the food and the people, but not this tour.

Great food to be eaten. Lots of walking. Cotton was very detailed regarding the history and type of food you can eat in Stockholm.
Jason_F, Jul 2025
Our guide, Cotton was very knowledgeable about Swedish food and culture and provided great historical background for each site. The tour was extremely smooth, with plates lined up ahead of us, and reserved seating. All of the food was memorable and stuff we wouldn't have discovered on our own. The guide also provided some great Swedish cuisine restaurant recommendations.
SteveCvitanovic, Jul 2025
Lots of historical information that made the whole experience even better. The food was outstanding, except for the cold smoked salted black licorice which was nasty but you have to try it for yourself.
James_B, Jul 2025
great experience, well paced and great samplings of traditional swedish foods. Cotton was fantastic and as we walked talked about the culture and life
June_s, Jul 2025
The tour was excellent , food was great, our tour guide was fantastic and very helpful. I would recommend this.
storres326, Jul 2025
The tour guide Cotton today was rude. He was offended that I asked him if he was from Stockholm. Guides should be friendly and I would imagine get asked all the time if they are local. I’ve done so many tours on Viator and never experienced a rude guide. I recommend resetting expectations with the guides and being nice to paying customers

This was a fun experience with a great walking tour and lots of yummy food. Our guide Theresa was excellent!
Paul_D, Jul 2025
TERESA was an excellent guide. She have a lot of information about the history of the food shops and the history and cultural significance of the foods we tasted. Our walking pace was good and she was very conscientious about accommodating all tour participants. Teresa told us about other important Stockholm landmarks and the ambiance of all the main islands. She is lovely person!
