My friend and greatly enjoyed this tour. Our guide Olof was so kind and knowledgeable about the Viking sites and told us so much about Stockholm and Sweden. We especially liked getting to see the Swedish countryside. I would absolutely recommend this option to anyone that is interested in history and and the Vikings.

1000 plus years of history in front of you

Chris_B, Jul 2025
A fun and interesting look at Viking life. Seeing and touching a part of 1000 year old history is not something you do every day! Jonathon was very knowlegable and even read the old norse language on the stones. Pretty cool.

Response from Host, Jul 2025

Off the beaten path Viking history tour

Emily_C, Sep 2024
Olaf met us at our cruise ship, handled our bags, took us on a Viking History Tour 30 minutes outside Stockholm, then dropped us at our hotel. The tour was informative and interesting. Olaf is knowledgeable about the history of the area. We saw rune stones, visited a small church with a rich history in Taby, and hiked a short distance to Lake Vallentuna. This tour was off the beaten path, places we would never have found on our own. We highly recommend Sweden History Tours.

Very happy we chose this tour

Wendy_W, Sep 2024
Interesting and informative tour. Great information and cool to see the runes and a very old church. Max of 6 people makes this a great size to ask questions of the guide while saving money versus a private tour. Very convenient pickup from the cruise port and drop off at our hotel after the tour- which was a great convenience,

Great tour

Maryann_H, Aug 2024
Gustav was a knowledgeable and personable guide. He shared history and stories of the Vikings as we travelled to different sites to view artifacts. The rune stones were amazing

Two thumbs up!

Lori_R, Nov 2023
Calle was absolutely delightful and a wealth of knowledge. He was personable and highly considerate of our wishes. We were so fortunate to have him all to ourselves, due to visiting in the off-season. Would definitely recommend this tour and also Calle!

Memorable Viking Day Trip!

Patricia_F, Oct 2023
Karl was a fabulous guide with a plethora of Viking history knowledge! We saw many Rune Stones and learned about their historical significance. Worth seeing so that you are out of the city and into the country side. Treat yourself to this tour!.

Response from Host, Mar 2024

Thanks for taking your time to leave such a good review, and really happy you enjoyed both the sites and the stories told by the guide. Welcome back anytime! / Owe

Response from Host, Mar 2024

A lot of history in a short time

Alex_P, Jul 2023
We only had a little bit of time left on our trip for a tour and Gabriel made every second count during the Short tour. I learned more about Sweden in those few hours from him than I did the past couple of days.

Incredible Tour!

Amanda_B, Dec 2022
This was so enjoyable and worth every krone! Erik, our guide, was passionate and extremely knowledgeable. Because no one else signed up, we had a private tour so it was extra special and enabled us to visit a church that wasn’t on the official itinerary. Erik totally changed my understanding of Viking history and as a history teacher, I appreciated him bringing world history into the history of the runes and what happened with the Vikings. He was very patient and I recommend him wholeheartedly. It was nice to get out of the city and see the more rural areas of Stockholm.

A fantastic morning adventure!

Jake_S, Nov 2022
Eric was very knowledgable and accomindating! Could answer everything we asked, even with a small group of only 2 of us in the snow he was very thorough.

Interesting

Heather_N, Nov 2022
Erick was very informative. Unfortunately we had really bad weather which took away from the tour. Would definitely do it again but in better weather!

Interesting Tour

Dan_G, Jul 2022
Got an interesting overview of the Viking History through visiting multiple sites where Runestones were at display. We had two guides who were quite informative. Picked us and dropped us off from the Hotel which was convenient and gave us tips for other experiences in Stockholm.

Not worth the money

Jennifer_C, Jul 2022
This was 3 hours start to finish and most of it was drive time. The history was ok but we spent very little time at each stop. Definitely not worth what we paid!

Ver worthwhile tour!

Meghan_W, Jul 2022
Lovely tour! Charlotte was so knowledgeable about not only Viking history but the history of Stockholm as well. Highly interesting! It was a great way to spend a morning/afternoon. Thank you, Charlotte!

Mary_O, Jun 2022
The group was small. The guide was knowledgeable. The stops were ok. The church was a highlight for me. Our van was uncomfortably warm and had no way to Open windows.

Response from Host, Jul 2022

Angus, Jonathan, and Helan were all great, we have three small children, 5, 3, and 1, and they helped us to make sure we had safety seats for them all which in itself was amazing. But the tour itself was wonderful they knew a ton about Vikings and rune stones, hard to get more from a 3 hour tour!!

Great trip out to see some Viking runes and learn about the Viking history. Angus and John had a huge amount of knowledge and were more than eager to share their passion of Viking history. Thankyou for a great trip out of Stockholm. Would recommend this, perfect amount of time and paced well.
