My husband, two adult daughters (24, 20) and I spent 8 days in Croatia in May. Our day on The Nana with Mario was a unanimous favorite for us all! First, we needed to reschedule our reservation due to delayed luggage. Mario was very understanding and gladly rescheduled, at no cost or penalty, for a day later in the week. When we met Mario, he offered two different itineraries to choose from, based on our preferences (time spent exploring Brac vs swimming/snorkeling). Mario was the perfect host! He shared history about Omis, Brac and Croatia. The food (made by Mario’s wife and prepared by Mario) was delicious! My husband and girls enjoyed the homemade beer and wine. The conversation and time spent on the boat was just as enjoyable as the beautiful scenery and time on the island. It was incredibly easy to communicate with Mario, although he thinks his English is not great (it is!). Mario provided snorkeling equipment and SUP board. The Nana was beautiful and well equipped with a restroom, sitting area and a place to lie down. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. Do not hesitate! Book this trip. You will NOT regret it! Thanks, Mario, for a beautiful day we will never forget!

Sailing, Swimming & Homemade Delicacies – Pure Magic

Our day was absolutely top-notch! Words can’t fully capture the hospitality and graciousness we experienced, we truly felt like part of the family. Mario and Rocco were incredible hosts, sharing not only their sailboat but also their culture, cuisine, and passion for their home. The day was filled with delicious homemade food, wine, and desserts, every dish was outstanding (we even asked for the pate recipe!). They generously shared their own homegrown delicacies, giving us an authentic taste of Croatian cuisine. To top it off, Rocco dove for fresh sea urchins as a special treat after lunch! The itinerary was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. We visited a charming local town on a beautiful cove, learning about its history before spending the afternoon swimming in crystal clear waters in a secluded cove. The sail itself was breathtaking, with stunning mountain views all around. What stood out most was the warmth and passion Mario and Rocco have for their area. We left with hugs, full hearts, and memories of the best day of our trip.

A magical day

We had the most wonderful experience on this private sailing trip from Omiš to Brač (Pučišća) and a hidden bay. Everything was simply perfect – the route, the stops, the food, and the atmosphere. The homemade snacks and special dishes they prepared for us were truly delicious. This trip was extra special for us because it was my surprise marriage proposal. The captain and his wife were incredibly kind and supportive – they even brought a homemade cake, helped with photos, and made sure the whole moment was unforgettable. They were so warm, friendly, and welcoming that it felt like we were sharing this exciting day with friends, not just a crew. They also gave us great restaurant recommendations and even called ahead to arrange something special for us there – such a thoughtful touch! I also loved that they let me take the helm and experience sailing myself, which made the trip even more memorable. Their English was excellent, communication was smooth, and everything went perfectly. Spending 8 hours sailing along the Dalmatian coast with them was an amazing experience we will never forget. We highly, highly recommend this sailing tour – not only for the beauty of the Dalmatian coast, but also for the warm-hearted people who made it so unique. Thank you for giving us such a magical day!

Owners Mario and Carla were excellent hosts and skippers for our sailing. They were personable, thoughtful, professional and knowledgeable through and through. The lunch that Carla made with most ingredients from their own garden was magnificent! My family enjoyed our day of sailing with them so much that we felt like we were relaxing with friends on a sail boat.

We had an absolutely beautiful day - perfect from beginning to end . A smooth , relaxing ride and Mario and Carla were like spending the day with family . They did everything possible to make us have a memorable experience . They made us an amazing authentic meal on board , guided us to the best sites , and were very knowledgeable. My husband and I were with our adult kids And their significant others and all 6 of us have repeatedly said that this was the best experience of the trip .

Unforgettable Day on the Adriatic with Captain Mario and Nana

We had an absolutely wonderful sailing trip aboard Nana with Mario as our captain and host. From the moment we stepped on board, everything exceeded our expectations. The boat was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, with plenty of space to relax—whether in the sun or the shade. Mario greeted us warmly with a welcome drink and sugared almonds, setting the tone for a relaxed and memorable day. He was a kind, attentive host and an excellent communicator—reaching out ahead of time via WhatsApp to make sure everything was clear. The itinerary was well-paced and truly showcased the beauty of the Adriatic. We sailed to a picturesque cove for swimming and paddleboarding in crystal-clear waters, then continued on to the charming town of Pučišća on Brač island for some sightseeing. Along the way, Mario offered us his homemade beer and wine, and we enjoyed a light, refreshing lunch on board. (Everything was homemade by Mario's wife, Carla). Oh, and we also had a lovely coffee and dessert after our swim before sailing back to Omis. Not a detail was overlooked! Every detail—from the smooth sailing to the beautiful locations and Mario’s warm hospitality—made this trip unforgettable. If you're staying in Omiš (a lovely town worth a night or two in itself), don’t miss the chance to experience this unique day at sea. Highly recommended!

Honestly, Mario’s professionalism, knowledge of the sea in the area, and culinary expertise were Above anything we ever expected! He really made this a trip of a lifetime by taking us to the most unique spot to swim and preparing the freshest and most delicious lunch at the perfect time in our eight hour day. We had a beautiful day with Mario and Carla! They are warm, genuine people who were pleasure to spend the day with. Our comfort and pleasure was their primary concern. Their hospitality is unmatched. Mario and his son Rocco were incredible hosts! Based on the other 5 star reviews, we had high expectations - but this experience somehow surpassed all of those! It felt deeply personal and immersive for Mario to let us into his adriatic world. From his home made rakija, wine, and beer to the garden to table meal served in the bay of Pucisca - we were in a constant state of bliss. They created a memory we’ll hold for our entire lives and we left the trip feeling like part of the family. To Rocco - keep feeling the wind!

A must do in Croatia!!

Mario and Carla made us feel so very welcome from the moment we arrived at the dock. We chose this cruise for our daughter’s 30th birthday celebrations and what a celebration we had! Such a relaxing way to spend the day, learning a bit more local history and information. Went to Brac Island where we spent some time in small little town, before enjoying an incredible three course lunch. Food was delicious and the home made wine and beer, plus the grappa, was amazing. We spent the rest of the afternoon on a small private bay, swimming and paddle boarding, so enjoyable. They got the sails up for our return journey, which was awesome. We cannot rate this experience highly enough; we enjoyed it so very much. Thanks again Mario and Carla; I’m sure we will cross paths again (maybe in Australia).

Mario, owner and captain, provided us (couple with 3 adult children) with a fabulous excursion. Well thought out, full of local culture and private sailing experience. We went where few tourists visit. We walked a small town on Brac, swam and snorkeled in a clear beautiful secluded bay and sailed a bit as well when the conditions were right. Mario prepared and served us a homemade traditional lunch while playing Croatian music in the background to dine by. His concern was our comfort and delight in the day’s experience. A truly peaceful wonderful day. Book this sailing excursion if you get the opportunity.

If you're reading reviews and thinking about booking this tour, do it. If you're wondering if it's worth the money because it might feel a little bit expensive, trust me, it's worth the splurge. We spent 2 weeks in Croatia in this tour was definitely one of the highlights. Mario and Carla are such lovely, genuine people. They are very happy and clearly love what they do. Their boat is well taken care of. The itinerary is simple but wonderful. We stopped at a very nice little town that wasn't full of tourists. We were able to look in some small shops, buy some local olive oil, and then swim at a perfect, local little beach with some of the best, cleanest water we saw on the whole trip. The food is amazing, and almost all of it is homemade and homegrown, including their wine and beer! Mario and Carla are the perfect guides for the day. They know when to serve and make conversation, and they know when to give you a bit of space and just let you enjoy the boat. Excellent day and totally worth your time and money. I should also mention that we were 4 adults and 2 children (5 year old and 11 month old). For parents wondering if this is a suitable tour with children, it was perfect.

Amazing day! Mario and Carla were the best hosts. So nice and eager to make the day everything we hoped it would be. The reviews are all fantastic for a reason. We loved the boat, Mario clearly knew his stuff, avoiding a brief storm (great to see it in the distance behind the boat!). The food was incredible; genuinely the best food of our whole trip. The home brew is not home brew as you know it - the beer, wine and cherry brandy were all high quality! Super impressed. We loved the trip to Pučišća and the time swimming and paddle boarding in the bay was fab! All in all, great value for money, and the best day of the holiday! Thanks Mario and Carla

The trip itself visited some stunning places (including a beautiful cove that feels like your own private beach where we swam, did snorkeling & paddle board). Absolutely the best day of our 6 week European holiday! Mario and Carla are the most amazing hosts, sharing their love of Croatia and the seas. The on board prepared food from as much self grown/local food was beautiful! Carla's unknown sacrifice of a new car bought forward Mario's brewed beers and white wine.. delish! Absolutely cannot fault this perfect, private and peaceful day on the Dalmatian coast. Definable will be back and recommend to family and friends.

The day we spent aboard Nana with Mario and Carla was the absolute highlight of our trip. Hospitality doesn’t begin to describe it! We knew that the landscape would be beautiful, and had read from other reviews that the food and service were excellent. We were not expecting to have such a one of a kind, true local experience, with such lovely human beings. We have done this type of excursion in several countries and it has always been fun, but certainly felt like there was some distance between the passengers and the crew. Carla and Mario made us feel like we were guests in their home, they welcomed us with such genuine kindness and openness to share about their culture. And the food!!!! They really weren’t kidding! Everything from their own garden or from a local member of their community. They brought us to such hidden gems over the course of our journey. We saw no other tourists in their favorite cove, where we enjoyed the use of their paddle boards and snorkel equipment, between sips of their marvelous homemade beer and wine. This is the experience we all hope to find as travelers, a real glimpse into the world of the locals, shared by people who leave you feeling more like friends than patrons. Thank you for the WONDERFUL experience, we will absolutely direct any friends and family visiting Croatia to Sailboat Nana!

Mario and Carla are the ultimate hosts. It was a beautiful day to sail on their lovely 37’ sailboat in which we were able to go from Omac to Brac and back. Carla served us a delicious 3 course meal and we enjoyed getting to know this couple very much!

Well what can I say but this day trip with Mario and Carla on their sailing yacht will be remembered for a lifetime! The home made beer and wine was an absolute winner and Carla’s 3 course meal was the best meal we have had so far on our trip, it was absolutely divine! The hospitality that Mario and Carla gave us made us all feel part of their family we all just didn’t want the day to end! This was one of the best tours we have ever booked, in fact, quite possibly the best! Our family of 6 (all adults) booked this tour and we truely had the best day. Mario and his wife were incredibly hospitable and made us feel right at home. We really enjoyed getting to know them during our day out on the water. They treated us to an amazing three course home cooked meal and we loved the home brewed beer and wine. This tour ticks all the boxes, wonderful friendly company, sailing, beautiful waters, plenty of swimming water activities, sight seeing around a gorgeous little town, and did I mention AMAZING food!! We would do this again in a heart beat and look forward to recommending it to friends and family that are travelling to Croatia. Thank you for hosting us and showing us your beautiful backyard. We had a wonderful time with Mario and his wife. They were punctual, inviting, informative, and generally perfect hosts. The lunch they cooked us was on of the best we had our entire trip. They took time to let each of our children steer the boat and let us be as involved or passive as we wanted to. This was the best experience of our vacation, hands down.

Experience True Dalmation culture

If you are looking for a true Dalmation experience this is the charter for you. Mario and Carla are some of the best hosts, and frankly some of the best people I’ve met. Their cheerful and bubbly friend and associate Marin drove us from the Old town in Split down to the harbor in Omis. We got right into things as we set out into the Adriatic. Carla and Mario both have a lot of knowledge of the region, and the nearby islands. Every now and again, they would guide our attention to local points of interest, and describe their importance to the local history. The sailboat itself is very well kept, and spotless. Although we didn’t use the cabin nor the onboard lavatory, everything was clean. Moreover, the meal served on the boat is prepared by them, and all the ingredients are grown and cultivated by Mario and Carla themselves. The food was fantastic, and paired very well with their homemade drinks. Your tour with them may vary, but we anchored in a cove where we snorkelled, paddled, and lazed around in a tube for a while. My friend and I ended up finding sea urchins, and brought them back to the boat, where Mario prepared them with some olive oil. Fresh and delicious. We went to the Island of Brac for a little walk around, and sightseeing opportunity. Our hosts had many interesting facts about buildings on the island, and the history of the island. All in all, this is an experience both my friend and I would surely love to repeat. We look forward to setting sail with Mario and Carla again!

Our sailing trip with Karla and Mario was amazing! When we were booking it, we already knew it was going to be the highlight of our trip. Once we met them and got on the boat, it surpassed our expectations! Their boat is beautiful and well-kept, and they know exactly what they are doing. They treated us like family and made us a delicious meal from their garden (you also have to try their delicious homemade beer and wine)!

We had the best time on this tour! It felt like we were hanging out with friends all day. We have 4 kids and they were so incredibly kind and patient with them. So much thought and care went into the planning, including the amazing food and drinks (the wine and beer were made at home). Some of the ingredients were from their personal garden. Before we stepped foot off the boat our kids were already asking if we can go on this boat tour again one day. When we booked we were worried that 8 hours would be a long day for the kids, but they stayed entertained the whole time and always had something to do. They said it was the best day ever. You won’t regret it if you book this tour.
