We had an amazing day with Othman. He is of a great company, very nice and he is a good driver. We had a rich day. This tour is great to discover what Tunisia has to offer beyond Tunis. The value for money could be readjusted.

Good tour to El Jem and Kairouan. Enough time to visit the 2 places without rush. Stopped at Sousse on way , it was a quick 10 minute spin around the souk, not really enough time to get a feel for the place. Our driver Bachir was fine. Tunisian driving is not like Western standards so expect a bit of a roller coaster drive, buckle up and sit tight.

Our day trip in Tunisia exceeded expectations. We visited incredible archaeological sites, wandered through vibrant local markets, and enjoyed delicious Tunisian cuisine. The guide shared fascinating stories about the Roman and Berber history, making each place come alive. The scenery was breathtaking — from the desert landscapes to the turquoise sea. We had a wonderful time. Each stop was great, with plenty of time to spend at every location. Admission fees ranged between 8-12 dinar per person. Hsin was a perfect guide. Friendly, knowledgeable, and provided great advice when required. Can highly recommend this tour.

4.5, the only issues was having enough time to see everything! We did get pictures everywhere and this was the highlight of our week in Sousse

This is a great way to see more than the walls of your hotel! I cannot recommend this enough. Our driver Khalil was friendly and easy to talk with on our journey. He communicated well with us and we were able to contact via what’s app if we needed anything whilst we were exploring. The great Mosque is magnificent and not to be missed! 5 stars!!

Brilliant day out and our driver was great too. Driver picked us up from the hotel at the time agreed and was very friendly, knowledgeable and informative. The sights were amazing, especially the Colosseum of El Jem. Great day out.

This trip was very haphazard. Our guide driver was good, though he was more of a driver than a guide, the car we got given was very poor quality, the driver did not know how to turn on the AC, until i pointed out to him after Kairouan (2 hours into the journey). Then the car's reverse gear got stuck, and car wouldn't move backwards, the driver had to ask passer bys to push the vehicle back, so he could get back on the road. The car wasn't that good either in the first place. Pretty ordinary for a tour that is marketed as "VIP" tour. Absolutely not worth the value for money.

Hsin was a brilliant tour guide and was friendly and accommodating - with clear instructions and recommendations. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for an engaging and informative tour. We had a wonderful time exploring Monastir and El Jem.

Not very well arranged by tourists company
Although the driver was quite nice
He did not speak English, so communication was very difficult and he did not seem to know which areas he needed to take us too
We Ended up showing him a picture of the places we paid to go
Should also have been told that we needed to have paid to enter the amphitheatre and also given the opportunity to carry a headtie/scarf for entering the mosque if needs be rather than buy one.
Spent more time driving around than doing anything else. It in my opinion was a waste of time and money spent
Would not recommend this to anyone

Our driver-hosts are trained to follow the set itinerary of El Jem, Kairouan, Monastir, and Sousse, but in this case we understand the language barrier made communication difficult. While he did know the planned route, we should have ensured you felt fully briefed throughout the day. For clarity, our Viator page and pre-tour WhatsApp message mention that entry tickets are not included and that modest attire (such as a headscarf, available at the mosque entrance) may be required. We appreciate your feedback and will review this with the host supplier to strengthen both language support and pre-tour communication.

We were fortunate to visit Kairouan and El Jem with an incredible driver named Mohammed Amine. He was very accommodating during the tour and guided us during the tour.
He provided plenty of time during the stop at El Jem and provided good conversation during the driving. We had an unusual request and went out of his way to accommodate us.
The tour to historic Kairouan and El Jem went smoothly because of the driver’s efforts and we were able to see everything we wanted to see. Mohammed Amine went above and beyond and made sure we saw some of the best that Tunisia has to offer.

Rajouan is a really good guy and very kind… he gave us as much time as we needed to visit the sites (El Jem is awesome and so too is the mosque of Kiarouan)

Me and my mum were picked up on time from our hotel greeted by our very friendly tour guide Ayoub! The vehicle was modern and a very comfortable drive. Ayoub is very knowledgeable of all the places we went and also pointed out important places we passed along the way. Ayoub was also kind enough to escort us through the Medina, where he organised a plate to be engraved for me and gave it to me as a birthday gift! Before each stop he gave us the history of each place and told us what too look out for which was very helpful. The Great Mosque is truly beautiful and the El Jem Amphitheatre is so amazing!!!! We learnt so much! Our tour guide Ayoub even stopped off for us to get some ice cream along the drive. We were so happy with the service, we met up with him later for dinner so we could try traditional Tunisian cuisine! Thank you Simba Tours for organising our trip with Ayoub! And thank you Ayoub for making this trip truly wonderful! Such a lovely way to spend my birthday! I would recommend this trip for everyone - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We are a family of 6 (2 adults and 4 children; age 7, 6, 4, 3). We had booked a Fun VIP Tour to Kairouan, El Jem, and Monastir on 13 April 2025.
The day before, we got extra information for the tour send to us by WhatsApp and also the number of our driver. We had some troubles with the starting hour because we had made a reservation from 09:00AM but the organisation asked if we could change it to 08:30AM, wich was no problem for us. When we made contact with our driver he said the starting hour would be 09:30AM?? So after a few calls and messaging it was set for 09:30AM, which would have been better for closing time they said.
So our driver picked us up at our hotel at 09:30 (actually a little later). When he arrived he was first making phone calls for like 10 minutes and then came over to meet us. It wasn't really a minivan like it was mentioned in the discription. The car had a dent in the back from an earlier collision and there was one seatbelt missing for one of our children. Not really reassuring seeing how they drive here. But our driver convinced us that he would drive slowly (I come back to that later)!!
I think it was 10:00AM when we finally got on the road. The distance between the stops was not so far, 1 hour to each stop, so that was perfect. On the otherhand, driving safely wasn't the case. Speeding, calling on the phone, driving on the middle of the road, argumenting with other road users. One positif thing was that he put on some music for the kids, a little to loud, but it was nice to make them feel relaxed. PS: We now know all the versions of Baby Shark!
Our first stop was at Kairouan where we visit the Bassins Aghlabites, The Great Mosque (Sidi Oqba Mosque) and another Mosque where I don't know the name of. Afterwards our driver knew a viewpoint to observe the Great Mosque from above but it was actually a shop where they selt souvenirs and handmade carpets. We listened to the explanation but kindly refused his offer to buy one. But we did got some souvenirs for the homefront.
Next stop was The Amphitheatre of El Jem, but we first took some lunch (it ws already around 02:00PM) in front of the theatre in a local tourist restaurant, according to our driver. Some kind of BBQ restaurant where we didn't get a menu with prices and they had only three options: grilled chicken, grilled lam, or a grilled mix. I ate the meat but the other stuff I passed on that because it all didn't look very clean. I rather had picked something myself to eat for lunch, something a little cleaner.
The Amphitheatre itself was absolutly great and magistic. We spend more then an hour there. Aamazing how they could build something like that at such a remote place.
We came out of the theatre around 04:15PM. The next stop would be Monastir to visit the Bourghiba Mausoleum and the Fort of Ribat. But our driver asked if we would like to go to the Medina of Sousse instead because it was an hour driving and at 05:00PM everything would be closed. Since we where already planning to go to the Medina of Sousse on another day we kindly rejected the offer and went to Monastir and did some sightseeing from the outside of the Mausoleum and the Fort.
It's questionable why the driver starts the tour at 09:30 (actually 10:00), knowing you have three stops, you have to drive an hour to each location, you have to take time for lunch, and then be supriced that you can't visit the last activities of the programma because everything is closed at 05:00PM. Then start the tour on time at the hour that was mentioned, 08:30AM or earlier!! Especially because this was a VIP tour, only for us 6, and as discribed: "Discover at your own pace".
Conclusion: Nice sightseeing activities to Kairouan, El Jem, and Monastir, but organisation could be better!

Not as advertised at all. We were picked up late, the car was not new and back seatbelt did not work and driver did not care despite driving about 100 miles per hour. We did not receive detail historic info in our language. Our driver barely spoke or understood English. We were driving almost all day to half of the site already closed. No discussion or forethought into what we want to see with the time we had. No lunch left at 9:30 until 6 no stop for food or recommendation as advertised! Do not waste your money false advertising worst experience I’ve had with Viator and I’ve been using that application for years

I booked this tour for my sister and me for a total of $156 to visit El Jem, Kairouan, and Monastir. The details stated that we would be traveling in a brand new luxury vehicle, but instead, a small, rundown, old, and dirty car arrived to pick us up. This was extremely misleading and made the journey frustrating and uncomfortable. It got really hot in the car and there was no AC as advertised.
The tour offered pickup and drop-off from either Hammamet or Sousse. We chose to be picked up from Sousse and dropped off in Hammamet. However, the driver was unaware of our drop-off location and became visibly frustrated when we informed him. He clearly did not want to take us to Hammamet and insisted on dropping us back at our pickup location instead. After we explained that our drop-off was at another hotel 45 minutes away, he angrily called his boss, who confirmed that our drop-off location was correct. He then parked the car, stormed off, and apologized, saying he was stressed and needed a cigarette.
Throughout the trip, his driving felt unsafe, adding to our discomfort. At times, it almost felt like emotional blackmail, making us feel bad for him, which dampened our mood for the entire day.
For lunch, we were taken to a local restaurant for grilled lamb, but the prices were clearly inflated for tourists, which was disappointing.
To make matters worse, Monastir which was one of the promised destinations—was skipped entirely. We paid for a tour that included all three locations, yet we were not taken there. So we basically were overcharged and didn’t end up going to this place.
Overall, while the driver was polite, his frustration at the beginning of the trip set a negative tone. The car was far from “luxury”—it was old, dusty, and had no air conditioning. This tour was completely misleading, and the experience was not worth the cost. There are much better and cheaper options available. I do not recommend this tour.

I booked this purely to be driven to these places, wasn't looking anything else. My driver was good, got me around, plenty of flexibility. The car wasn't "brand new" though, and air con consisted of a window being rolled down. Which is fine, no major issue, but that is a piece of false advertising. Driver was a really nice guy, had some conversation with him, not proficient in English by any means, but passable. The destinations themselves are must sees when in Tunisia, El Jem especially. I was very happy to be able to pack so much into 1 day.

The agency will text you instructions via their WhatsApp business account the day before the tour and then around 10pm they will text you the driver's number.
We had Jaibi. He is older but he's very friendly, kind and very helpful. His English is not fluent but he has a lot of facts and information to share and we managed to communicate very well.
We went to Kairouan first, then el Jem, and Monastir last. The time spent at each place was almost as described. Monastir was 45 minutes due to traffic prior.
El Jem and Monastir were amazing (the nice weather helped) and it would have been nice to spend longer at these two places. Kairouan, as the 4th holy city, is cool. We spent 1 hour at the Mosque and around and another hour at the medina. We are not keen shoppers so we would have only needed 30 minutes at the medina tops.
I think it would be good if we could be asked if we would like more time at the Kairouan medina. If not, more time could then be allocated to the other two places.
But overall, we are pleased with the tour and happy with Jaibi the driver host.
