Blessing

Narelle_C, Feb 2026
This was such really nice experience from the monks. The chanting and general peaceful atmosphere was humbling. Lots of “gratuities” needed though. The blessing did leave us feeling peaceful and revitalised.

Worst Tour Guide Ever!

Amanda_H, Feb 2026
Our driver/guide sent a message to say he was waiting in the hotel foyer. When we went down there were many guides waiting for guests and we had to get assistance from concierge to try and locate ours. After speaking to every single guide, we finally located ours sat on a bench completely engrossed in his phone and not looking as if he was waiting for anyone. Not the best start! On the car journey to the activity he was trying to persuade us to take extra tours with him and we had to be extremely firm when refusing. After that he appeared to lose interest in us and didnt really talk anymore. He didnt explain what would happen at the activity so we were confused about the process. It felt rushed and chaotic and not enjoyable. He kept telling us to follow him and then would walk away really fast and so I had to shout to him to slow down because I had to help my friend (who is blind and has a white stick to indicate this) but he did not slow down much. He was the worst tour guide ever and completely spoilt the experience for us ... and all because we wouldnt hire him for additional tours around Siem Reap. It was a complete waste of money and I feel ripped off!

A unique experience in Siem Reap

A wonderful experience at a pagoda just outside of the main city. Our driver and guide was great and explained as he took us through the monk blessing. It was around an hour in total and was definitely a unique experience.

Everyone should experience this :)

It was a lovely experience from start to finish. Everyone here is prompt and on time and we had an informative guide who explained everything very clearly. They provide the sarongs to wear and show you how so you do not need anything. There is a gorgeous temple right beside the monk’s home too for photos etc. it was definitely a one of a kind experience for all religious and non religious people and I would recommend everyone to experience it with an open mind. AC car, guide and driver - perfect for us. Just a short ride out of town as well and takes no more than 90 min. So leaves plenty of time for a full day of activities - :)

Holy water was cold

As Buddhists, it's very horner to be blessed with a monk. We don't have to dry cloths and or so. Just bring ourselves.

Spiritual sharing a unique experience

An excellent and very unique experience! Our guide was actually a monk’s assistant at this temple when he was younger which made the experience more meaningful for us. We were honoured to have this ceremony shared with us.

Not to be missed

Our guide was amazing. We were picked up in a private car and the itinerary was explained in perfect English. He took us through each part of the ceremony when we arrived and gave us a bit of history along the way. It was an enlightening and spiritual experience which we both thoroughly enjoyed.

You don’t get to do this at home!

This was an experience like no other. To be in such a sacred place receiving a blessing from a monk was very special. Our driver was very friendly and informative and answered all our questions.

Great experience

The driver/guide was very reasonable about flexibility of the transportation and was conscientious and considerate of taking pictures to record for memories of this experience.

Beautiful memory while in Cambodia

A truly beautiful experience I haven’t seen anywhere else. Our guide picked us up at our hotel and took us to a temple. We gave an offering to the Monk (provided by our Guide). There, we changed into a robe since you will get wet (not just your head). It is a little outside your comfort zone at first just bc it’s so unique. But our guide did a nice job explaining everything to us & taking photos. It was a beautiful memory.

Great cultural experience

Our guide made us very comfortable, was fun to be able to meet a monk and get a glimpse into their life and receive a blessing.

Fantastic experience

Such a special day. Our guide was so kind and helpful and it was an amazing experience. The pick up and drop off was seamless. Thank you so much.

Grate day

Had a great experience. Very pleasant and friendly people and a picefull place you can feel comfortable with yourself when you leave

Worth it

Lisa_L, Jul 2022
This was a meaningful and memorable tour. Our guide (Seppokh??) was prompt, friendly, and explained everything as it happened. Two notes: when they tell you to take off all your clothes, they mean ALL your clothes-- you will be soaking wet from head to toe; and second, if you have a temple pass, bring it with you as there is a temple right next to the monastery.

Awesome Experience

Eliane_T, Jun 2022
We wanted to learn a little bit more about cambodia and its religion apart from the usual tourist stuff and we weren't disappointed. Our guide was super friendly and willing to answer us all the quedtions we were interested in. It was a unique experience on our trip and i am so happy that we decided to do it. To be part in a real buddhist blessing ceremony and be in contact with a monk was totally worth every Cent.

Cool Experience

This is something that you do if you want to have a unique experience in a majority Buddhist country. To be able to say that you did it makes it worth doing!

Great Experience!

Letizia_I, Nov 2019
Such a great experience having this Monk Blessing in Cambodia. Sela and his friend pick us up at our hotel and took us to a local temple to have the blessing done by a monk. Sela was great in telling us information about Siem Reap, and the background of Monks and the Buddhist life. The whole experience was about an hour (from pick up to drop off). The actual water blessing was only about 10-15 minutes and took place outdoors on the steps of where the Monks live. Be prepared to get very wet! Sela provided us with a sarong to change into and a towel at the end. Overall great experience, and definitely a must do when in Cambodia.

Great experience: don't want to miss
