This is an absolute must do when you visit Sharm el Sheikh! The boat was BARAG and the captain and his team are absolutely passionate about what they do! They have a great vibe, super helpful and friendly. We had experienced scuba divers and snorkelers to novices on the boat and everyone was accommodated. Lunch was decent although I suggest you bring snacks and something to drink if you are picky. Bring your own snorkels as you risk faulty ones if you rent from the marina. We made three stops and got loads of snorkeling in and saw some incredible fish and coral. It’s the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. We also got lucky and saw a school of dolphin ride along with us, at least 50 of them. Incredible! Thank you to the whole team. We will definitely be back.

Chaos at the Port The day started with absolute chaos at the port. It was overcrowded, with nowhere to sit or even breathe properly. If you do go, bring plenty of water—you’ll need it. Onboard Experience The boat was packed beyond comfort, and it felt like a fight for a seat or a spot to rest between swims. We were picked up at 7:45am but didn’t actually depart until around 10:30am. Once onboard, we quickly realised that of around 35 passengers, only four of us were English. Everything was explained in Italian only, and the non-Italian guests were simply left in the dark. Snorkelling Stops We were told the first stop would be 1 hour 45 minutes away, but after just 30 minutes the boat stopped outside Sharks Bay—conveniently, right next to our own hotel’s house reef, where we had been snorkelling daily. We assumed this was just a warm-up stop for diving practice, but it turned out to be the main event. The second stop was even worse: poor visibility, a dangerously strong current, and no staff supervision. My travel partner was swept out about 30 metres by the current while staff sat smoking and did nothing. I had no choice but to jump in and help. The lack of safety was shocking. Communication & Transparency After lunch, one of the guides casually told us—only the English speakers—that “we can’t go to Tiran, too wavy,” and then went off for a nap. Later, we discovered other guests from our hotel had been to Tiran that same day with another company and said conditions were perfect. It felt like we had been scammed: paying extra for park entry and a promised trip to Tiran, only to be taken to easily accessible local reefs. Final Thoughts This company was disorganised, unsafe, and dismissive. We were misled, left uninformed, and treated as second-class passengers because we weren’t Italian. If you want a snorkelling trip, you’re far better off booking directly through your hotel’s dive club, where you’ll actually be looked after and get what you pay for.

Nice staff with different expectations

Good communication with the customer service however the tour was operated by another team and there was different expectations from the diving instructors. I added the professional diving as I had an open water certification and dived couple days ago with a diving guide. One of the diving instructors was a bit rushy/cranky ant the beginning and expected divers to set up everything. It was okay after communication and they offered me a private guide on the second dive. Nice diving overall.

Leider absolut enttäuschend. Wir haben an unserem Hotelriff mehr Fische als bei den beiden Schnorchelstops zusammen. Tiran Island ist zudem stark wellig und mit einer Strömung. Darauf müsste wegen der Sicherheit hingewiesen werden. Zusätzlich ist das ständige Gepfeife von den Guides echt nervig.

Es hat eigentlich nichts mit der Insel Tiran zu tun, die sowieso nicht betreten werden darf, man sieht sie nur in der Ferne. Man fährt mit einem schönen Boot (Bella Vita) von der Marina an der Küste Sharm El Sheikhs entlang, wo es einen Schnorchel-/Tauch-Stopp gibt in der Nähe des Ras Nasrani Beach. Danach fährt man in die Richtung der Insel Tiran, hält dann aber in der Nähe des Wracks am Gordon-Riff für den zweiten Stopp an. Man hat dabei ungefähr ein Drittel der Strecke zur Insel Tiran zurückgelegt. Beide Schnorchelspots fand ich sehr schön, zu sehen sehr gut erhaltene Korallen und schöne bunte Viecher. Das Mittagessen an Bord war sehr gut und lecker, die Besatzung superfreundlich, engagiert und kompetent. Einen Stern Abzug gibt es für die missratene Busabholung. Warum werde ich extra 20 Minuten früher an der Rezeption meines Hotels einbestellt, wenn der Bus mich dann erst 25 Minuten später abholt? Musste auch über WhatsApp nachfragen, was nun los sei. Beim Rücktransport fuhr der Bus an meinem Hotel vorbei, so dass ich mir 20 Minuten lang noch die Hotelzufahrten der anderen Teilnehmer anschauen musste.

Llegaron tarde a recogernos, tuvimos que esperar más de 30 minutos. Después en El puerto te hacen esperar en una zona con más de 100 personas más de 1 hora... el snorkel que hicimos era para principiantes... gente que no sabe nadar.. en ningún momento hicieron dos grupos para Buenos nadadores y no nadadores... 3 paradas de snorkel de 20 min máximo cada una. Si eres buen nadador no contrates estas excursiones contacta con un centro de buceo y asegúrate que no sea una excursión masificada, vale la pena pagar más.
