Our tour guide Sheldon...

Rodney_S, Mar 2026
Our tour guide Sheldon was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and showed us areas that were amazing. He brought our group together. The tour was excellent.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Sheldon makes a family of the guests on his tour every single time.  He is known for his customer service with visitors routinely asking for him to be their guide.  He knows all the best spots to be amazed by the Grand Canyon.  Thank you for the 5 stars.

Disappointed

greeneyedrn13, Feb 2026
Most of this tour is in a packed van of 12. The train ride is only 21/2 hrs, but it is relaxing and scenic. They do sell provisions if needed. Back to the van, you should also note that if you need water or snacks you have to bring them. Better yet pack your lunch. The option for lunch was decent but very expensive. So do not expect anything to be provided (water).

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Dear Guest: This tour routinely gets 5 star reviews as you can see so we are surprised by your posting.  We do not put 12 people in a van on our tours.  A cooler with water is in the van at the front with the guide for duration of the tour.  All of our guides are veterans and know this to be a requirement.  So, water is provided.  We do not have any control over the cost of the food establishments that we visit.  Our tour is the most competively priced tour in the marketplace which allows for guests to make their own decisions about snacks and additional beverages.  All fully outlined in the tour description.  We confirm all guests 48 hours in advance so our customer service team can address questions a guest would have in advance of their tour. We find advance communication or communication during the course of the tour to be the most effective

Spectacular Grand Canyon

Edie_G, Nov 2025
This experience was well worth it. Getting picked up at our hotel by our wonderful guide, Cat, was only the start to a great day. She provided so much information about the areas in which we travelled. She also was always careful to be sure we were safe and informed. The Grand Canyon train was a blast. Catherine, on the train, was quite funny and informative. Fun and slow ride. Cat met us at the canyon after the train trip ended and took us to multiple viewpoints on the South Rim. Spectacular views! Gave advice on where to eat lunch and was right there for anything we needed. Great guide! It was a long day, yet will remain in our memories for life.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Dear Guest: it is sincerely gratifying to provide people with lifetime memories of their trip to the amazing Grand Canyon..We take guests to multiple viewpoints as it is often so much grandeur to take in...Cat is a true professional conducting all tours...this is her favorite.. What a joy for you to take this tour with her!!

Grand Canyon by Train

Lisa_C, Nov 2025
The tour guide, Cat, was terrific. She shared a lot of educational information. She was great about keeping the team on schedule. She clearly has a warm relationship with her counterparts. The views were unimaginable and breathtaking. The train ride is very VERY slow, so be patient. For anyone with mobility challenges, be aware of the many opportunities throughout the day for viewing the Grand Canyon that require getting in and out of the tour bus (shuttle van). The day was very long but also very worthwhile.

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Dear Guest...Cat Miller is a terrific guide and a wonderful person who truly loves this particular tour. The Grand Canyon has to be seen in person to truly appreciate and we are happy you had this worthwhile experience

Above and beyond!!!

KARLA_J, Sep 2025
We got stuck in stand still traffic on our way to the meeting point in the morning. These people kept in contact with us and worked with us to get to another meeting place once we were moving again so we wouldn't miss the train. The went out of their way above and beyond to make sure we were able to have a great experience. Special shout out to Cat and Max, we can't thank them enough!!

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Dear Davis Party: Delighted beyond words that our team was working as a unit so well and using good communication to ensure that you were able to enjoy your tour. It is very satisfying for us to overcome obstacles and provide great experience for those who have chosen to travel with us. We have shared your shout outs with Cat and Ma. Thanks for the 5 stars

This was an excellent...

Wilmar_S, Jun 2025
This was an excellent tour of Williams and the south rim of the Grand Canyon. The guide, Cat, was knowledgeable, kind, and fun.

Response from Host, Jun 2025

Dear Valued Guest: This is a really popular tour for all of the reasons you mention. So glad you enjoyed it with us.

This experience worth every penny!

Susan_S, Apr 2025
It was an amazing tour, with an amazing guide, Andrea. Her knowledge and delivery of the details enhanced this trip. The train ride was perfect and worth every penny! The views of the canyon were spectacular! I will bring my family back to experience it, and recommend it to friends! Well done!

Grand Canyon Tour

Lisa_K, Apr 2025
The trip was amazing. Cat was our tour guide and gave us lots of information over the entire trip. Not having to deal with parking and learning lots of history on the way along with viewing great sites made this amazing.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Howdy Traveler! We are so glad you enjoyed the train ride. It is a fun and different way to see the landscape and travel to the Grand Canyon. This is Cat's favorite tour and she was thrilled to read your review. Thanks for taking the time to give us 5 stars!

A great experience.

Laura_S, Apr 2025
The experience was great we saw so much, We just so rushed. between the train ride and the bus tour tour. I think if we did it again. we would pick one or the orther.

First Class Travel

Natalie_W, Apr 2025
Great trip. The guide was entertaining and informative. The First Class Train ticket should be retitled to something like 1900’s First Class Train Car, as it is not what most would imagine. And the entertainer ignored people of color to the point it was apparent. All the others were good. The tour after the train was excellent. We learned so much with the stop at the Navajo Nation. All and all, a great say

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Dear Guest, Your commentary regarding the entertainer has been forwarded to the Grand Canyon Railroad company for them to address. We will let J. R. know that you enjoyed the second half of your tour day with him.

Very disappointed

TERRIE_H, Mar 2025
The train ride is a waste of time and money. The scenery was just as nice on the van and more affordable

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Dear Valued Traveler, We are surprised by the one star review as this tour is a visitor favorite. The landscape of Northern Arizona is consitent on any trip to the Grand Canyon and does not change based on the mode of travel choice of the traveler.

Not Recommended

Kathy_G, Mar 2025
This tour did not follow the advertised itinerary which included a 2-hour stop at the Grand Canyon Village and 30 minutes at the Cameron Trading Post, neither of which occurred. We were taken to a food court at the Village but pressured to get take out to eat in the van, but we were not running late. We did have three nice stops at sites to view the Canyon and a fourth was too much time. We had only 15 minutes at the Cameron site so no time to shop. Very disappointing for an expensive tour.

Response from Host, Mar 2025

Dear Valued Guest; We are surprised to receive this reviews as this tour routinely receives high marks from our guests. Some of the time itenerary estimates are required by the OTA you booked thru. We address this required shortcoming in the detailed description of the tour below the tour title. This information would have no doubt aligned expectations. Lunch in the van was addressed by the guide so that more time could be spent viewing the canyon. We appreciate your comments as we are committed to continuous improvement.

A Perfect "10" of a day!!

Tracy_W, Sep 2024
This was such an amazing and beautiful day on so many levels. Andrea, our tour guide, was absolutely fabulous. The weather couldn't have been any better, and both Sedona and the Grand Canyon were breathtaking beyond words. I would highly recommend this excursion. It is worth every penny.

Great day

Marjorie_Z, Sep 2024
I just loved this trip. Our guide Andres was fabulous. She was very knowledgeable, kind & considerate. We enjoyed the one way train ride to the Grand Canyon & taking the van back with several stops to see the Canyon on our way back. The van was comfortable. I recommend this experience!! Again Andrea was a fantastic guide!!

Would recommend this tour, give it the entire day, just relax and enjoy.

SYLVIA_S, Apr 2024
The tour was excellent, great information, lots to see and perfectly timed. The train was slow, but nice 1st class accommodations with excellent staff and a guitarist who sang and entertained us.

Grand Canyon adventure

Janet_C, Mar 2024
The views of the Grand Canyon are awesome! And our guide took us to less traveled places for extensive views! JR is the best!! His stories bring Sedona and the Grand Canyon to life!

Highlight of Our Stay in Sedona - Grand Canyon Tour

Judy_C, Jan 2024
Brad Hammer provided a wealth of knowledge. He was personable, considerate and took our group to the most majestic views at each stop. Brad made our tour memorable and the highlight of our stay in Sedona.

Memorable day at the Grand Canyon

Paul_P, Sep 2023
Our guide J.R., was fantastic! Always informative, extremely knowledgeable of the history of the area with fun little stories of his own experiences. But the best part was his ability to take us to those special places away from the crowds.

Magnificence Personified!!

Sandra_B, Jun 2023
Train ride was an iconic prelude to the exciting main event: views of the north rim from the south rim of Grand Canyon. Our guide, Sheldon with Great Venture Tours was Extraordinary in every attention to detail! we were able to see five exciting views as a Canyon and just half a day since our time was reduced by the train ride.

Fabulous day trip!

Wanda_D, Jul 2022
Jessica was a wonderful guide! She provided us with a wealth of information about our surroundings. I’m a Grand Canyon first time. Unbelievable! The train ride was relaxing and filled with amazing views. I recommend!!!

Opportunities to get out...

Amy_Z, Jun 2022
Opportunities to get out of the van, explore and take pictures at the Grand Canyon. Our guide JR was informative and entertaining. Would have skipped the Trading Post.

Guided trip to the Grand Canyon!

Lenane_F, May 2022
We had such an enjoyable, informative, relaxing day! The van was comfortable and the train to the Canyon was perfect! Specials kudos to our guide, Brad. What a terrific experience!

Carmen the train...

Tagg_D, Mar 2022
Carmen the train conductor was hilarious. The staff overall were super friendly and helpful. Would recommend again.

God’s amazing creation
