It was an amazing experience! And the Highlight of our vietnam trip. The meal at a homestay at the end was delicious. I would highly recommend it. Amazing scenery, sometimes steep and slippery. Just a warning that you will be walking for at least 4 hours.

Good hike!

Andy_I, Mar 2026
Definitely do a private tour otherwise there might be a lot of waiting and/or rushing depending on the pace of thr group. Manage your expectations regarding the view, it is very smoggy even in sunshine. A mix of trails, paved roads, and paddy ledges. Mostly a downhill hike from Sapa Town. Our guide, Soo, was kind. As well published, the villagers do follow you and will high pressure sales you their handicrafts.

Wonderful!

Amazing experience

Sergio_G, Aug 2025
Our guide, Zem, was incredibly friendly and attentive. The tour was spectacular, taking us through stunning spots among the rice fields and giving us insight into the tradition and culture of the different ethnic groups. She spoke perfect English and explained everything wonderfully — from the bamboo forests to the rice terraces. Truly an unforgettable experience.

Local life up close

Ryszard_G, Mar 2025
It was a great experience to walk through 3 ethnic villages and see how local communities make their living. Our guide also comes from one of those villages minorities so you can learn in detail about hardship of everyday life. She has told us a lot about rice cultivation. It’s all about walking (about 10 km) so you can admire beautiful scenery of rice fields, mountains and generally the greenery. We were lucky to have a good weather otherwise it gets muddy. And one more remark, you don’t have to buy anything from local women or children but if you do you may support them. Very interesting tour worth taking.

Off the beaten tracks....

NamKhoa_H, Mar 2025
Off the beaten tracks. Don't wear nice clothes and sandals. It's not in straight line so it's more walking than expected.

Nice view of rice fields...

Jesus_G, Oct 2024
Nice view of rice fields and the typical village. The group was too large. The guide talked about some different culture traditions but not much about the different points.

Great walk through the villages

Katy_B, Sep 2024
Picked up on foot from our hotel, communication beforehand was very good. The group initially looked pretty big but we then seemed to split into 2. The walk goes straight from Sapa town through the rice fields and villages, last stop is lunch and then a minibus takes you back to town by 2pm. Very very muddy and slippery sections of the path so make sure you're wearing the right footwear - walking boots, walking trainers or wellies. There was other women on the trek from the villages helping people out if they needed it. Beautiful scenery all around from start to finish. We accidentally went at the perfect time just before harvest season so got to see the rice in full bloom and some being dried out too. Also a lot of children selling bracelets etc, which was hard to watch at times. One place for a toilet stop and drinks to buy as well. Lunch provided at the end was simple local meat and veg dishes, noodles and rice. No description of what any of it was so pack snacks if you're not open minded. Only downside was the group separating a lot, the guide didn't do so well keeping us together as was needed with different capabilities in one group. also a lot of other tours doing the same route at the same time so sometimes got a little confusing.

Worth the trek

JAN_S, Sep 2024
The trek was awesome !! Sue, our guide was excellent and we had a good group which makes a difference - the young boy who was there to help on tie slippery bits of the trek was a real little gentleman ❤️

Beautiful views of Sapa

Francisco_N, Jul 2024
The Sapa 1 day tour was perfect to get familiar with the villages and see the beautiful surroundings. The trekking had its difficult moments when we were covering muddy sections, but going slowly and carefully, the trekking turned out to be a great experience.

Nice trekking

John_L, Jul 2024
Went trekking with the group on a light rainy day. As expected, the trail was muddy, slippery and partly flooded at times. However, the locals were generously helpful to make sure the group and I could make it through the whole path. The rain did help make the trekking experience more cool in temperature. It was an overall nice trekking experience. The only thing that I felt unsatisfied was that only I was put with another table for lunch with a different trekking group of unfamiliar people who were already eating midway. I understood that the larger table for our trekking group could only seat enough for everyone else. However, I'm not sure if it was because I went to this trekking solo that our tour guide suggested that I should sit with another trekking party. Slightly uncomfortable experience having to had trekking with a specific group, and suddenly not enjoy the end of the tour with the people I experienced with.

Not for the weak

Yunting_S, Jun 2024
If you love taking risks and living dangerously, this trek is for you. Picture hiking through muddy, narrow, and dangerously steep paths with practically nothing to hold on to—such fun! The best part? The guide didn’t warn us about how dangerous the trek would be, so you would be pleasantly surprised. After this thrilling trek, you'll have the perfect excuse to buy new shoes, socks, and pants, and you’ll have a great story about your "near-death experience" to boast to your friends. Perfect for those who are physically fit and mentally unhinged.

The itinerary is...

Etsuko_S, Apr 2024
The itinerary is misleading - we will visit all the places on foot. Then we take a van to be sent to the hotel after lunch. We will be walking around 8-10km for 3 hours. If you’re not physically fit, I would not recommend. This is the reason the price for the tour is reasonable.

Great experience at Sapa

PABLO_C, Mar 2024
Mama So was an excelente guide. She explained to us everything about Sapa rice fields. Food was very good too

Sapa Day Tour Review

Tyler_T, Feb 2024
Took a sleeper bus and got there before the time of the tour. Allowed us to stay in the lobby of the hotel the tour is hosted at. Breakfast was 50k dong and pretty good. The tour itself was perfect, our guide spoke pretty decent English and gave us information on the main spots to see. There are women who come with you selling goods but they are quite friendly and do help you along the path. Check weather before going too as ours was quite rainy/muddy but became more sunny as the day progressed.

Super Sapa Trekking Tour

John_G, Feb 2024
Great tour , local guide was very knowledgeable , views were great & nice to see the local villages. Excellent value & way to see scenic Sapa. We went in February when the rice fields not at their greenest but still fascinating.

Will look for better experience

Bagus_F, Jan 2024
All in all the experience was nice, love the trekking to hilly terrain and muddy trek, the guide was also nice. They could actually provide bottle water to each participant at least to anticipate hidration. Thankfully i brought my own. From the beginning we were followed by mong ladies which wasnt part of their trip but yah... It happened. Nothing bad or super negative but they can be chatty.

Good day

Gintare_L, Oct 2023
The guide was fine, but all the group rushed at the beginning, but the path was hard and no time to look arround.

Worth the money if you can keep up

Maimouna_d, Sep 2023
You must be physicly fit to take this tour are there is a lot of going down very stiff paths. The local women will follow you along the way and try to sell you things.

Muy completa y bonita. Una caminata sin muchas patadas y a bastante buen ritmo. Quizás no muy fan de la comida…
