Carla was a great guide with loads of facrs, respectful of nature and very kind. We saw loads of baby and teenage lemon sharks, too many to count! And the guide didn’t even bribe them with food which made it even more special. Tour lasted 2 hours, just over 1 hour round trip and 45 minutes at shark bay.

We saw the sharks and they swam around our feet which was wonderful but we paid for a four hour trip and got two. I’d recommend for people to book a cheaper alternative.

Chelsea took us on a short excursion to see the lemon sharks, sadly due to her beliefs not wanting to feed the sharks, I totally get her reasoning, our tour had minimal interaction with fewer sharks. While 2 other groups had plentiful numbers swarming. Quite disheartening

Amazing shark experience with an eco focus

A must do if visiting the island! Prompt pick up from our hotel. The excursion is run by the company explore Cape Verde which is an eco friendly excursion company. They are marine biologists so very knowledgable about the sharks. If you’re eco conscious choose this excursions instead of other ones, they don’t feed the sharks because it’s bad for them as they only feed at night. Some other excursions while we were there were feeding them and if we hadn’t booked with explore Cape Verde we wouldn’t know this was wrong. We saw so many sharks of all different sizes it was amazing, some even brushed past our legs as they swam! Brilliant excursion. Was about 30 mins from Santa Maria once we picked everyone up. There is a toilet at shark bay though you have to pay €1.

Pick up was punctual, we were in a decent sized group of 15. Tour guide knew his stuff, was attentive. Couple on the group needed extra help waning into the water and was there to provide support. You need rock shoes, you can rent if you don't have. Recommend you take some dry shoes to travel back in, and you do get wet, so wear swimwear. We got to see many types of fish and many baby sharks. We were lucky enough to photograph so of the larger sharks in the distance.

Wonderful experience to walk in the sea among baby lemonsharks! To catch a glimpse of the bigger male sharks a bit further away was also exciting. Would advise everyone to use swimwear on this excursion (the waves reached up to my waist now and then :) Do this- you won’t regret it!
