One of the most epic adventures we’ve ever done! Our guide, Ismael was so knowledgeable and kind. We got lucky to be the only ones going on the tour that day. So it was like a private tour ❤️ absolutely recommend. So fun!!

Beautiful caves, floating was super fun

Incredible experience. Really fun and would definitely do it again. Highly recommend for anyone wanting adventure on their vacation.

Worth the money and time!

This was one of the best excursions that I have ever experienced. Andy, the tour guide, was awesome. He was knowledgeable, funny, and made us feel completely safe. During the tour my Apple Watch came off when we were diving into the water in the cave. They said that they would find it for me, but I counted it as a loss. After the tour and while we were eating, one of the other workers was able to swim to the cave floor and retrieve the watch. They called Andy and the driver drove back about 15 minutes to grab it for me. The finder asked for $10 USD finders fee… the fee was de minimis, so I gladly paid it. Our lunch was stewed chicken with rice and beans. It was good!

A truly unique experience. A must do if you’re going to be staying in San Ignacio. The guides are very knowledgeable and funny.

Such a fun day!

Channa_V, May 2024
We booked the activity for a Sunday. This turned out to be a good choice as there was no one else in the cave during our tour. Our guide Andy picked us up at our stay. During the tour, Andy knew a lot about nature, culture and the environment. The tour itself was already a lot of fun, but Andy made it even better! We had a wonderful and fun day, definitely recommended!

Giselle (our guide) was highly accommodating, wonderful and a pleasure to spend time with. She personalized the experience and we had an amazing time.

Beautiful cave and amazing guides, but expect a longer hike carrying the tube and a "meh" lunch

- Wear: bathing suit (anything you feel comfortable getting completely wet), Tevas/Keen-type sandals or water shoes, water shorts/swim top - What to bring: towel, change of dry clothes, bug spray (lots of it), sunscreen - you can leave all of this in the locked van while you tube - Vendor: Mayawalk Tours based in the walkable area of San Ignacio This tour was a lot of fun with a few things to keep in mind: - Our tour group was combined with people were also signed up for ziplining, which was our first stop. We didn’t sign up for zip lining, but had to wait for that group to finish for an hour. Our guide, Alex, was very kind and waited with us, showing us some local plants and a bridge nearby, but I felt that it was odd for us to wait for people doing a different activity. Just be aware of this, as it wasn’t in the description of the tour. - We then headed to the tubing area (10 min away from ziplining). There are changing rooms and bathrooms to get suited up. - You’ll receive a helmet with a headlight, lifejacket, and a pretty large tube. Be prepared to walk in the forest with this tube for 30 minutes, across some slippery rocks, up and down stairs, and through a shallow river. If you have kids on this tour, you may end up carrying their tube as it’s surprisingly heavy - or you can pay $5 USD for one of the park workers to carry it for you. There are two stops on the way to the cave to look at stalagmites and a couple bats. - Once we got to the cave, Alex and another guide tied our tubes together and we were on our way. They explained the Mayan history behind the caves, and pointed out different natural fixtures with lights. - In the cave, you’ll make one stop where you need to get out of the tubes to check out a grotto. It’s a bit slippery, so make sure you’re wearing shoes with good traction. We saw the 9 demon faces carved into a stalagmite and had a chance to jump 8 ft into a deeper part of the grotto! - The rest of the tubing experience is just floating out of the cave and down the river. You’ll jump out of the tubes at the same area where you cross the river initially. - We had time to get changed into dry clothes and stopped by a restaurant owned by the tubing company. The food was… ok - the portions were small (one chicken wing, rice, 1/2 cup of coleslaw). This restaurant is also where I got almost all of my mosquito bites from the trip, so spray yourself with bug spray before lunch. - After lunch, we got back into the van and returned on time. - Overall, a great experience, but I’d recommend eating a large breakfast beforehand, being prepared to loiter a bit if you’re not signed up for the ziplining, and setting expectations to hike with a large tube for 30 minutes (this could have been communicated better in the tour’s advertising).

One of the best days on our honeymoon

A MUST HAVE experience in Cayo

Christopher_S, Apr 2023
This is a MUST HAVE experience if you visit Cayo. Maya Walk tours is right in the heart of San Ignacio on Burns Ave so it is easy to get to. Our guide, Anselmo, filled the 1hr 15 min drive to the cave with a detailed Mayan history lesson and he pointed out cave details and led us to nooks and corners that other guides breezed by. The experience was punctuated by a traditional Belizean meal with Rum punch before a tired and sleepy drive back to town. Thank you Maya Walk for an experience that my family will never forget.

Best tour ever - Best guide is Damion

Cassandra_T, Mar 2023
Had the best trip ever. Damion was amazing and helped me with some difficult areas but also was so educational. We would recommend this trip highly. Excellent tour!

Our guide was great and the tour was just as good. Abbi was knowledgeable about the area and explained everything we needed to know. He is also very professional. The food at lunch was good along with the rum punch.

Fun, relaxing and unique tour!

We really enjoyed this tour that included a 30 minute walk through the jungle, tubing in and out of caves, a bit of cave exploration on foot and lunch at a local restaurant.

Would highly recommend!

Matt_T, Feb 2022
The views of the cave were amazing and the ride down the river was very relaxing. Our guide (Edgar) was fantastic and gave us backround on the cave formations and the importance they had to the Mayans.

Do it!!

James_T, Jan 2020
Wonderful experience... our guide Alsamo (sp.....sorry) was very knowledgeable and shared so much about Mayan culture and use of flora as we walked through the jungle. The tubing experience was relaxing and impressive. Highly recommend.

Educatief en heel leuk

Luuk_M, Nov 2024
Hele fijne gidsen met aandacht voor zowel het plezier als de educatieve waarde van de tour. Een hele gave ervaring die je niet snel nog een keer zal doen.

Leer alles over de Maya cultuur terwijl je dobbert in een tube

Dana_R, May 2024
